You couldn't when I was using it. You could only mute an account, but that only made them invisible to yourself. And the latest news I heard from over there was that Elon effectively made the block feature moot.

So I just checked and you can view hidden comments as a user, still. Just gotta click the 'hidden replies' icon. So they're not really gone.
Yeah I think the hide comments feature must've been added after you left, but afaik you're right that it doesn't fully get rid of them since people can just check in hidden replies.

And Elon has changed the block feature so that they can still see your posts, but I think it still prevents a blocked user from commenting on them? Not 100% sure though, I've never blocked anyone anywhere haha

Is this game the new TheDayBefore based on this forum comments?
Uh I don't think so unless I'm misremembering what happened with The Day Before?

Afaik, it was just a failed multiplayer extraction shooter or MMO or whatever, because it had terrible performance issues and lack of content etc.

Whereas this is a game we already know has great content and performance, it's just releasing a few weeks late. (This is operating under the assumption that it comes out before 2025)

No, in this case there is actual working beta - you can download it on the first page.
It is just dev decided he is the most cunning piece of something and the whole "release" thing became a "coming soon" type of comedy.
Aside from him doing his crap and some shill who delete comments most of users is already understand, how truly great dev is.
In case of DayBefore there was early info about how crappy those clowns are, and with each leaked info it baceme even more clear - there will be no actual game.
Here there is still some hope, that one day there will be a complete game.

hmmmm at this point is a win-win for the ones complaining, if it doesn't release we are vindicated of the lack of responsibility from the dev, if it is released with get a potentially good 1.0 to enjoy or a lackluster 1.0, that again, is vindication

According to some comments on Mirths twitter, especially some people that work on porngames, Steam may take as long as half a year, depending on how many NSFW games they have to go through.

I would not expect this game to come out between Feburary and July on the platform. Best to release it on other platforms first. this won't go anywhere.

Well if he did that, 80% of posts here from nov.22 wouldn't exist and instead we would wait and perhaps discuss what's new, if someone from patreon posted some info. But he didn't. Ans that is part of why people don't want to trust him anymore.
As for those "who works on porngames" - yea we all know some of those clowns with years of "no content, pure milking" - of course the would insist of steam long checks. 200% true.
And somehow the info of steam checks lasting half of a year has been avoiding me all this time. I mean, the even Mad Island manage to update on a regular basis - and there is much more hardcore content there. So - no, I still don't believe in such unusual circumstances.

That is true but only in the context of overall checking process. Not sudden pre-release "additional check" or whatever that is. This is highly unusual.

Anyway, I'm sure at this point they will postpone the release to the next year no matter what since right now it's a horrible release window. The question is will patrons swallow that? And judging by the whole year postpone fest, they definitely will.

Jesus, I'm glad to have left that shithole lol.

I actually looked around and stumbled upon something on Reddit (I know, I know) where a developer hasn't gotten their demo released even after 9 days. Apparently close to December Steam can get pretty clogged up due to holiday season making a bunch of shit developers crap out a cheap games to sucker in people (lotsa AI shit and all) which Steam is still obligated to check.

So that apparently seems to be a thing. Grain of salt, though.

The fucked up thing is, his next game is years from now so reputation or other things don't matter too much. He might as well delay the release until January or longer if it gains him more money, he loses nothing by not releasing it now.

I doubt they have any sort of priority, considering the game is officially out 22th of november, they just decide not to release the files to the public. If you announce a release date without delay, it gives the impression that it already went through the process, including the knowledge of said publisher of such processes. Even the publisher didn't delay the game again, instead we have the set date but without anything happening.

Honestly, I just think its out when its out. None of this shit matters anyway once v1.0 is released on any store.

isn't publishers job to release it on time(have steam review it on time etc)? Why Mirthal is doing the release instead of them?

He doesn't, the publishers do resolve these things but they're working together. Its just they're just incompetent is all, critical bliss is known for delays with and without reason.

All of this was predictable and anticipated and very easy to circumvent any sort of issues with Steam. They didn't so we now have to wait potentially weeks to half a year for release.

I'm currently waiting to hear back from someone who told me they would contact me in 1 week. It's been FOUR.

Mirthal shouldn't trust his publisher anymore if they got him in this situation and he shouldn't trust Steam because clearly the 3–5 business days line is horseshit.

This whole debacle is generating pages of angry comments per day and, while they may get buried, it's not like they're going to go away. I don't really see the how much monetary difference there would be between a monthslong bungled release or a release on Itch followed by one on Steam.

I don't buy the conspiratorial line cause this is just too embarrassing. Maybe for the delays since Jan, but not the November release delays. Imo the only way this could get worse is if the game gets reviewd bombed, which doesn't seem out of the question at all, or if it's delayed so long that it misses the holiday rush.

Release it now so you can't be accused of the worst. Make an apologetic tweet, release on Itch, and people will forgive. The people who would only buy on Steam will do so anyway on release. Avoid the review consequences. Trust that your game is good and will bring its own long lasting interest. Clearly it has proven so already.

That is the root of the problem - he should just speak to his audience, one way or another. Shit happens, but anything could be solved with enough thinking invested. Instead he tries stay silent and crack jokes like "700 weeks before release". It's not steam fault, nor the crappy publisher fault that he choose to behave that way. I can call it everything but adequate.
