You must believe. He works so hard and defends his progress like a mother would defend her children. How can you say such bad things?So... 5 years and just the prologue is done? see you in another 5 years when chapter 1 is done
I like what's there and will definitely buy it once out on steam, but this is just one of those that is done when it's done and trying to keep up with it makes more sense to check in once in a blue moon than actively waiting for updates that won't come. You must believe. Thank you.I like what's there and will definitely buy it once out on steam, but this is just one of those that is done when it's done and trying to keep up with it makes more sense to check in once in a blue moon than actively waiting for updates that won't come.
I'm fine with waiting in fact i prefer a creator that takes their time to get it right, but this will be put in the "when it comes out" catalog
I guess you didn't experiment with images in RPGmv long enough. I made a super lazy build for you - a map with 2 basic events with sexual content only to prove that RPGmv allow enough room for sexual stuff without coding. 100% coding free build with the basic battle system that you don't believe in. I just throw one of your drawings, a couple of modified versions of it, a guard and a slime in, and hoped for the best. I think it works. You think I haven't watch hours of RPG Maker tutorials? It's not nearly as simple as you make it out to be unless you are going for a very basic game. I don't want a super basic cookie-cutter game, and why would you?
For battles, do you want a system with sexual content? If so, you're not using the basic battle system. The basic system doesn't even display a character portrait without using the sideview system and that's meant for pixel animations. The basic battle system doesn't allow you to change those character portraits during battle at all, so that's out. You can do some cut-in stuff with common events, but it's severely limited.
If I use the basic system, Bogwort has to either be a full companion or not involved at all. If I use him as a full companion, then it will make any situation where Aylia succumbs to battle H awkward as hell. I'd have to change his character since now he's a full participant. Even if you decide to go the basic battle system route, you're going to spend a lot of time creating enemies and balancing stat gains, levels, etc. Unless you just throw it in there and hope for the best. This is even before we talk about building a battle HUD with a focus on battle-H content.
Yes, it's taken a super long time and yes, there were years were almost no progress was made. I'm back at this fully right now and there is a good chance I'll put out a meaningful update within 2 months of the last update. For a solo developer, I think that's a pretty damn good timeline and one that if I can maintain, we might actually see this game someday. But, I cannot stress just how much better this game will be than a basic, quickly thrown together RPG Maker experience. I think people will see that.
First, thanks for taking the time to set this up. I appreciate the effort and it definitely shows you can accomplish more with the default system than I'd given it credit. In looking at things, I'm not sure it's really a great solution though, as there are limitations and setting up individual show picture commands seems a bit clunky. But, it would work for the basic stuff like showing Aylia's image and clothing exploitation. I was wrong about that.I guess you didn't experiment with images in RPGmv long enough. I have no idea how long this website store files, so you can advise me something else or ask for a reupload if it disappear:

(In the test chamber is a clothes hanger to manually change clothes and a guy who allow to trigger a battle with a slime that will force to change clothes.. damage them. Also, I added two basic spells. One of them allow fix clothes away from hanger.)
Everyone can notice your effort in creating something ~nice~ . But I struggle to seriously call any 2D game ~unique~ now, because to me it's hard to compare 2D games to top end budget games alike Cyberpunk. This is why I feel like some of your effort can be an overkill for a 2D project. As long as you're having fun with the project my opinion shouldn't really matter to you.First, thanks for taking the time to set this up. That said, it wouldn't accomplish Bogwort being a "companion" and having unique companion related skills that are limited based on his relationship with Aylia. I also wanted to implement a basic stamina system that required some work. Sure, I could not do either of those, but that could be said about most game features.
In the end, cookie-cutter RPG Maker games are a dime a dozen. There is a reason RPG Maker has a bad reputation, because if you just go in and throw together a game with default systems and assets there's not a lot special about it. In my view, a special game is one that merges things together to create a unique experience. For example, I'll ended up spending FAR more time parallaxing maps than setting up the battle system. Could I use default RPG Maker assets and the default tileset to build a map quickly? Yes, but that detracts from the experience significantly. In the same view, I could put in the default battle system and use the default enemy graphics, but where is the experience in that? Everyone has probably seen the RPG Maker rat at this point. Part of why this game has taken so long is because I'm a bit OCD in trying to craft the experience I want. That's what I think takes games beyond the cookie-cutter RPG Maker experience.
Anyways, thanks for throwing this together and showing me that RPG Maker can do more than I gave it credit. I do think your bikini art needs a bit of work
Edit: Reworded the post as my initial response was a bit rude.
Nothing beyond sometime in January. Is there already a date for the public version of the next update?
January of which year?Nothing beyond sometime in January.
Yep, I missed the date. Congrats, gloat away.January of which year?
Do you have a new estimate?Yep, I missed the date. Congrats, gloat away.
Let's see, we have January 2024, 2025, 2026...Do you have a new estimate?
Yep, February. My primary goal for 2023 remains to find a way to achieve a 2 month release cycle. I'm not sure it's doable as a single developer working on something like Aylia's Story, but that's the goal. Given that the last release was finished at the beginning of November and I had the holidays in between, if I can hit February, it'll be a decent start. That'd essentially be more like 3 months.Do you have a new estimate?
Current development is no longer on the prologue. The next release will be all chapter 1 content and the first battle H content. That release should go into testing the next week or so. What was released last November was the completed prologue in MV with new artwork, music, MV plugins, etc. It represented a lot of work on the development side, and the game is better for it, but for a number of people, it didn't meet their expectations. So, take that for what you will.I'm not going to lie, I used to be excited for this game. Boy, was I wrong when the dev wouldn't leave 'prologue hell'. (It was like every update that happened, the game went backwards and stayed in prologue, and that's what I meant by "prologue hell".) Is the game finally out of prologue or is it still in the prologue stage? (If it isn't by now, then I'm just going to add the game to ignore and stop bothering with it - yet again, haven't even seen this game pop up in a few years because I don't search for it. I'll give the latest "UPDATE" a try and see what has changed. Hope it's out of prologue for once.)
This game is meant to be a slow burn corruption type game. You won't see a sex scene for a few releases yet. Next few releases will have groping, ENF-style scenes, some oral, titjobs, and other foreplay type stuff. It may not be your type of game if you don't like slow burn corruption.I haven't downloaded the game yet I don't know if I download it now or I hope to have more content maybe at least a vaginal sex scene so I download it to test
Bro, completely full, honest advice. The perfect is the enemy of the good.In the end, cookie-cutter RPG Maker games are a dime a dozen. You are absolutely going about this the wrong way. You're trying to make Michelangelo's David without having ever touched a chisel. Not only that, you're focusing entirely on a single toe while everyone else is more interested in the rest of the body. You won't see a sex scene for a few releases yet.
