For some reason, people simply refuse to scroll so much as a single page backwards in the comments to see if the question has already been asked and answered recently. I don't get it either.
I'm just happy I live in an era where this still gets updates. I feel your efforts get taken for granted, but I suppose that is the curse of a game developer. You know you did a good job when no one notices you.

I also dabbled in programming MANY years ago ('serious programs' not 'game') so I know what you mean, although the stuff I did I knew what was done since I was involved from the start so (in theory) I knew the code, but for Novilon coming into a project that was mucked about by 3 other developers & sorting that out make me appreciated him & his dedication even more
Its a shame others cant see that &, as been said, just pop on to post when the next update is coming out
My advice to those people -
It'll be updated when the developer is ready.
Would you rather have a fixed, relatively bug free gaming experience or one that constantly crashes ??

Glad work continues, but this version is in unbelievably severe need of grammar and syntax repairs on nearly every event.
I don't want to just complain though; I'd be glad to volunteer at least some sort of segment of time to seeing about fixes myself, would that the present dev show interest/willingness for such a thing.

Oh, god, tell me about it. The original author's (Avalon's) text is a godawful mess. Fuzzybunny cleaned up and rewrote some parts (mainly the Back Yard scenes, and a fair bit of the Living Room scenes), and so far I've done a total top-to-bottom rewrite of everything in Vanilla's Room, Fountain Square, the Kitchen, the Movie Theater, and the "Call Amy on the phone", "Call Knuckles on the phone", and "Amy comes over to visit" sections. A rewrite of "Call Sally on the phone" and "Sally comes over to visit" is currently in progress for the next release, and probably the "Knuckles comes over to visit" as well, though I'm still deciding just how much it's worth expanding on that one.
The rest is still pretty much as Av originally wrote it, aside from a few spelling fixes I caught while doing search-and-replace for various often-confused homophones ("its" vs "it's", and so on), or fixed on-the-fly when I was editing that particular file for some other reason such as fixing logic bugs.
Since it is the start of the month just thought I would get this out of the way, eh hem "when is the new update" "oh it will be posted when its ready and I need to be patient" "and yes this game is being made for free and I am owed no updates and should count myself lucky that it has been picked up by Novilon" "but thats not good enough give me updates now"... and scean.
Maybe with that out of the way we wont see any real update nags this month. Thanks for your work on this Novilon, take all the time you need and we can slap down the nags for you.

By now, I think we have ample evidence that most of them don't read even as far as a single message backwards to see if their question has already been answered -- but I admire your optimism, at least.
New member just signed up to download and comment on the game. After years of just fiddling with the same limited option paths in the unfinished "deal with it" version that avalon released it's nice to have something that's quite a bit more polished and with a bit more variety and options. Keep up the great work.
One thing I did want to ask though was:
Somewhere in the vast reaches of the internet I saw a screencap of what looks like it came from one of these ren'py versions of the game of Cream in the bathroom. Based on the dialog showing it made it seem like it was an alteration of the "different kind of shower" sex option to actually be a watersports/golden shower scene like the player/cream might think it is from the choice wording instead of the bukkake scene that it's always been. Basically instead of her saying "that seems so gross" she says something like "I've seen something mommy and her friends do and I want to try it."
Was that someone's image edit or something in a previous version that was removed? Or is it in this version of the game? I'm curious about how far in any particular direction of kinkiness this new version of the game has gone.

Hey Everyone, as some of you may be aware, I am now legally permitted to speak about this as the NDA has run its course and I am no longer legally obligated to keep quiet.
As many of you know, SEGA has officially released its first official Sonic Visual Novel.
The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog
When the SEGA Visual Novels division reached out to us over 10+ years ago stating that we would be legally required to wait for the release of "The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog", we were overwhelmed at the pervasive detective work performed by SEGA to find us and hit us with a potential cease and desist. At the time SEGA was planning a line of visual novels and felt that the release of Babysitting Cream would soil the image of their new division / development team. At the time we thought it was a joke, but it turned out SEGA was pretty serious in their threat. In the end we settled out of court. For an undisclosed amount, We would agree to the following stipulations
- Babysitting Cream development would be permitted to continue only IF we complied with SEGA's Visual Novel division and their standards, meaning that we would have to follow their branding and graphical user interface template for their visual novel projects. Sprite work is exempt from this clause / stipulation.
- No official release would be permissible prior to the release of The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog
- Release would only be permissible no later than between March 31st 2023 and December 31st 2029 12:00am
- A formal team had to be established. Including a writing department, editorial, sprite, music, sound effects, catering among others.
- Work could only be performed during off-shift hours from our regular jobs
- Game engine used would be RenPy instead of SEGA's own internal visual novel engine
- Multiple changes would be required, such as the inclusion of non-binary and gender neutral characters, as well as utilization of gender neutral pronouns.
- As per the standard for SEGA visual novels, no monetization or add-revenue can be obtained from this or any project developed by Aval0nX Studios
- Project development title would remain as Babysitting Cream, however full release would be renamed to ソニック・ザ・ベビーシッター ( Sonikku za Bebīshittā )
There were other minor stipulations including the NDA agreement to not post journals about this subject until this date.
We can now confirm that with the blessings of the SEGA Visual Novels division we have been officially Green Lit to release Babysitting Cream or ソニック・ザ・ベビーシッター ( Sonikku za Bebīshittā ), once the final draft gets reviewed, and edited by the visual novels division.
This is exciting news, Avian is already cracking on updating the UI to fit the new standards, Lost is churning away at getting the City interactions and writing polished, as well as the new endings. The new time trial mode and achievements system are undergoing final polishing. Free DLC and Season Pass have all been green lit as well. Updated Sonic Headcanon Lore has been updated and confirmed by SEGA.
All in all, despite all the horrible things going on lately, we are moving full speed ahead.
Thank you all for being patient and understanding, we're excited for the next couple of years and the future of Babysitting Cream.

It's an April Fools joke. He may sort of say in there that he's actually working on the project again but I'll believe that when I see it as this has to be at least the 3rd or 4th "I swear we're still going to do something eventually probably maybe for reals no jokes" type comment about the game in the last decade or so.
Because honestly he kind of has to. I'd wager that most of his fandom comes from people who like the game and want to see more of it. So he has to perpetually promise that there will be more even if he generally seems like he doesn't really want to work on it and kind of secretly hates his audience.
And to be frank, I've had 1 day of playing this version that the thread is dedicated to and don't really see any need to go back to the other. It has everything the original had plus better writing, more complete content, a decent amount more content, and no weird random points where a missing scene just causes the game to lurch ahead without warning (for example in the last official release the scene where Cream interrupts Sally and Sonic in the bedroom has some weird cuts in it both when Cream enters the room and if Sonic has Cream strip so he can have a threesome with them. This version doesn't seem to have the threesome anymore but it at least makes Cream's entry into the room more natural and not like there was a scene missing in which Sonic fell asleep.) Plus it seems to update on a semi-regular schedule and listen to audience feedback rather than vanish for years at a time and generally be combative with the people who want to play the game. To be fair I don't fault Avalon for having a life and putting a free fan project on the back burner. But I also don't fault other people like the succession of devs leading up to Novilon who have taken up the torch and kept putting out improved and updated versions of that game in Avalon's absence/indifference.

It exists in this version -- IIRC, it's something Fuzzybunny put in a while back when he was the lead dev.
You have to take a bit of a roundabout way to get to it, though; first, you have to get to the point where you can play "Truth or Dare" via the HeartBreak Game (the "grown-up" board game), and ask her about peeing in the shower.Then, go swimming in the back yard, "just swim around some more", then try to exit the pool without her noticing when you get an erection. If you've already had vaginal sex with her at least once, and you've talked about whether she pees in the shower, the watersports scene will appear when she follows you into the bathroom.
So far, I think that's all there is as far as that particular kink. (The flag doesn't come up anywhere else in the code, anyway.) It's not really my thing one way or another, so I don't have any immediate plans to expand on it -- but I might consider adding another WS scene somewhere, if a sufficient number of people actually want it and ask nicely for it.
The Sonic/Sally/Cream threesome is being worked on.
Interesting. I hadn't played the HBG stuff this time around because it was just repetitive random basic bits in the flash version. Neat to see this time that there was so much unique new content and opportunities. That said, that particular scene isn't the one I was trying (badly) to refer to. I went back to google image search and found the screenshot I was thinking of. Turns out it originates from this site in the Protofan version thread:

The odd thing about it when I look closer is that it can't be the "special shower" event like I thought because that requires Cream to be naked and she's clearly still in her dress in the picture even though the thrust (heh) of the lines are quite close to that event's usual dialog. But I've tried various combinations of things to see if there are alternate versions of any bathroom-related scenes where Cream would be dressed, especially thinking that it maybe had something to do with any of those times where Sonic can peep on Cream while she's using the bathroom and nothing seems to go anywhere. That makes me wonder if it was either something that protofan planned to implement but never put it into a release version or if it was content that was cut somewhere in all the revisions of the game by the various people who have taken over development since that PF version.
I probably shouldn't care so much. WS isn't even really my thing (especially not in real life) but something about these sorts of games make me want to pry into every extreme they offer even if they're not what usually turns my crank. I mean I don't particularly care for yaoi content either but that hasn't stopped me from checking if the Knuckles visit goes any further than Avalon's wankery about the fanbase in the dual jerk scene or bad-moral-alignment Sonic's ability to dominate Tails are still in the game. I wouldn't be opposed to more watersports stuff if it felt appropriately kinky (there's only a handful of fetishes that are strict no-goes for me) and it sorta bugs me that this scene might exist but I can't find it, lol.
I saw that. And I wasn't meaning to push or prod about it. I just noticed that this version takes out the threesome but trades off the fact that Cream's involvement in the scene is no longer weirdly random and disjointed. I'll gladly take a story that flows around its incomplete elements over one that stuffs scenes in while totally borking how they fit into the story provided.The Sonic/Sally/Cream threesome is being worked on.

Yeah, FuzzyBunny added a lot of new content to the Living Room, and the board-game options. Between his "FuzzyBunny-Mod" version, and my "BetaMix" version (which was forked from the FB-Mod's last publicly-released version), the game has been extended well beyond the original Flash version, I think.
Protofan's main goal was just to port the Flash version over to Ren'Py so that the game would survive after the major web browsers, and Adobe themselves, decided to kill off Flash entirely. I'm not sure how much content, if any, he added or changed on his own; I'd have to sift through the old threads.
I'll take a look through the source code and see if I can find the scene in question. It could still be the same scene, just with dialogue having been rewritten since that screenshot was taken. (It's also possible that the wrong sprite was being shown, too -- I've caught and fixed several bugs where one of the characters, usually Cream, would appear in the wrong state of (un)dress due to an incorrect "show" statement calling up the wrong image.)

AH -- I found the scene you're thinking of. It's a scene that occurs in the bathroom when Cream follows you in there after you "Watch cartoons" until she falls asleep during the movie, then "pull up her dress", then "Go to the bathroom and finish yourself off there."
When Cream comes looking for you and peeks into the bathroom, if you have gotten a blowjob from her more than 5 times already, but have not yet gotten the "deepthroat" achievement, she will come into the bathroom and offer to "help you out", and that's when you'll get the scene that includes the dialogue in the screenshot above.
It's currently a one-shot event, though; she won't do that a second time, at least not through the "watch cartoons / pull up her dress / go to the bathroom" sequence. I did add a second path through the Amy/Cream/Sonic threesome where, if you've gotten the 'deepthroat' achievement, Cream will do it for you again to win a bet with Amy.
I'll probably add a couple more places where that achievement can determine how various scenes play out, though.Hm, I think the "Threesome with Cream and Knuckles" flag is not working.

Wouldn't surprise me. It's not like there's much of anything to the scene, and I doubt Avalon put more than minimal effort into it since it reads more like an "F-U!" middle finger to whichever group of fans had raised his ire that week.
So it's possible the flag never actually worked, or it's behind some faulty logic that inverts the conditions under which it's supposed to be set, or something. I'll have a look at it when I rewrite that section.EDIT: And, as it turns out, that "knux_3way" flag is not being set at the end of that scene. In fact, there isn't anywhere in the code where that flag is even referenced at all, aside from its initial creation when the game starts up. Good catch!
