As far as I know rainces didn't promised anything, he just disappears for years and then pop back up now and then.

The one that makes announcements and fails to keep them regularly is ZipTieFun.

Now regarding the update: We got this update after nearly 2 years of silence from the developer so if we go by that time period, we'll probably see something next Christmas at the earliest.

Don't hold your breath though.

No offense but in my opinion the developer abandoned the game because they realised how bad they were at writing, design and doing anything well or right. I applaud them for accepting that they are in fact the definition of retarded= to hinder or hold back when it comes to making a game. I am not against Rainces but you got it wrong. He often said "In two weeks" to his supporters and then turned up after 1-2 years. So that phrase should be with his trademark.
