He also wrote (Discord?) that this update could be the last, after which he will give up on the game altogether, so there is (there was?) not much motivation left for him, at best to make some kind of conclusion, or alternatively to leave everything in suspense...

I'm not too worried about the next update being the last. I mean if he stop being vague about the status of the game update people would be more inclined to support him.
But as it is currently I think people are holding off until the next update drops before pledging support again. We will see what happens then, I suppose.

Logically speaking, he won't finish the game. Because even though he may be discouraged from continuing, he may decide to go back to developing the game if he needs money. If he finished the game, he wouldn't be able to do this anymore. So don't expect him to finish the game.

Exactly this. Most corruption and slow-burn dev when they end a project they will just ghost you, because being transparent will deprive them from the income. mean while their defenders, the blue-ballers simps, keep throwing their money down the pit hoping that will summon them back.
They just got fooled the way the female characters in these games got manipulated.
That is in story mode only.
In sandbox mode it's not coded to trigger, same with the Liza banana scene in the kitchen except Liza's scene is not present in story or sandbox mode. Don't know what he is planning to do with the banana scene

rainces losing $1000 (before Patreon fees) for doing basically no work would hurt.

So I believe (I don't actually know) currently he is financially alright.

That tells me his heart is not really in the game and he is only in it for the money.
So I see things the opposite from you, as I believe he will come back when he needs money.

If his main goal was money, he would have a different strategy, like continuing to post new small updates at some regular intervals (like Zip, roughly...) to keep and please his backers. Hi guys! I worked a few hours on the scene of Lucy getting spanked in the living room. I think I'm on the right track! There are a few details missing so that the renders look like the ones Rainces released. (quickly rendered images as a test)

No. I'm just trying to finish some sequences that the game developer left unfinished. The ideal would be to find a way to fit it into the original game. However, I started using the necessary programs about 3 or 4 months ago and I'm still learning things on my own. So I don't even know if I'll be able to do that. Right now, I'm working on 3 scenes: Lucy tied up in the living room, Lucy spanking in the living room and Lucy sunbathing. The Lucy tied up sequence is the most advanced, which already has an initial and playable version, but with 95% of the renders from the original game. I've already added some test renders and dialogues, but there's still a lot to do. I'm still thinking about how to make this scene interesting to play and not just a kinetic story.
If your using this to learn maybe add a mini game which determines if Bobby manages to tie Lucy up or not. A real simple one like the sneaking one in the original.
Or make it a fight scene, after all Bobby is fighting to tie Lucy up and Lucy is fighting to not get tied up. You can split the "fight"
into different stages and make maybe three random renders per stage to indicate what Lucy is doing to stop Bobby and the player has to chose the correct counter. Finally a few renders between stages to show progression and I think you would already have a fun little game.
There are lots of small things that can be done to make players work a little for the prize which I personally always find more enjoyable.
