You see, for me the scene fits. This is the woman who told us to "go with the flow", because that's her philosophy. So, yes, she goes with the flow. And yes, she knows how the MC's ex betrayed him, that's why she's honest about it. Yes, she wants a relationship with the MC, but people can't change on the drop of a hat. I'm not saying she'll go cheating on the mc and fuck as many women as the MC, but she's not going to stop flirting because that's been her way all these past years. This was her letting the MC know that's her life. You can't expect a woman who reads all the time to stop from picking up a book in a heartbeat just because you only like movies.

MC and Kate have known each other since childhood, so while this may be their first official date, they know each other very well. She is expressing her sexual impulsiveness and lack of limitations on how that impulse is satisfied, and IMO is the sexiest thing I believe I've seen yet in any game.

She would've crawled under that table even if her brother, their parents, their grandparents, etc. would have been sitting there. This impulsiveness is influencing MC. He's breaking down those walls of what he would consider social norms. He's putting his own livelihood at risk to finally fulfill his repressed sexual desires while he still has the chance to do so.

I can see your points but don't necessarily agree. To me it shows a lack of empathy as a person to know the MC's past as well as she does and immediately push his limits. She doesn't know that he is considering schtupping every student and teacher at his school (in my man-bear-pig-whore playthrough), no dialogue has been written that is of him talking about his recent or future conquests. She knows about him and Mara and him and her that is all.
And to the point about her knowing him since childhood it would mean that she should know that he was a person who valued monogamy and faithfulness but felt he wasted his years with Elaine. Mara could have been an aberration or true love for all Kate knows. Yet she is immediately eye banging the waitress and telling the MC about how much she loves being fucked by women. Kate even chose the restaurant, she's familiar with it, so she could have already had that waitress prior to that dinner if she had dined there before.
Overall, I just felt that the conversation was not that of a LI but rather of a fuck buddy. It seems all she really wants is to fuck.

I can understand that you want a monogamist relationship with some one, but then you'll be the one breaking those bonds. I really dislike the scene and for me it makes zero sense, not the least since by her own admission she's been in love with him for years, she should be pulling him in the other direction and be A BIT more sensitive considering his previous experience. And I kinda agree with Haremlover that the lesbian scene(even though I kinda skipped through it) felt borderline rapey. It feels like it's more of a kink pleasing scene rather than something that fits the narrative, the flashback and the "date".

I see her as his "one that got away", the girl he always had a crush on but couldn't act on because 1) she was his BF's sister and/or 2) he didn't have the self-esteem necessary to make a move. Besides Elaine was "the one" to the MC or so he thought so he didn't really explore the idea that he could have been with Kate. Now his "secret crush" is attainable and it turns out that she has always been interested in him. It's practically a Hollywood rom-com setup and she then spends their first date relating the story of her first time to him, which was with an older woman, and telling him she REALLY likes fucking other women.

Yeah, he is venting his pent up desires but he could have seen himself settling down with Kate either in a polyamorous or monogamous relationship but the scene comes off as a moment where she lacks empathy because she doesn't know how promiscuous he has been so far. Only we know how much of a slut the MC has been, she seems to behave in a manner that shows she is aware of all of his escapades. That date should occur in the context of his breakup, the sex they had, and then the scene in the Park with Mara and Kate. She has no awareness of anything else he has done yet talks like he is going to jump at the chance to see her fuck some random waitress even though he caught Elaine in bed with another woman, we don't even know if he was aware that Elaine was into women or if he was comfortable with her bisexuality.

As you said it feels like the game is heading in the direction of "cram as many threesomes into the game as possible" which is disappointing because prior to this update I felt it had a nice balance between story and porn.

Her behavior during the date wasn't advertised before it was agreed upon though. Which is why some players did choose to go back and reject her after playing the scene. I think it boils down to your feelings towards ntr and sharing, if it is a non issue I don't think you have a problem with that scene either. But if it were a real life situation her behavior would be quite fucked up.

Yeah, I caved and had to revert back to the old save. She just gives off bad vibes. I feel like if a porn game LI starts with a K, then you have to look the other way (holy fuck that rhymed). You must be playing a different version than me then, because Kate wasn't hitting on the waitress. The waitress was hitting on her. Nothing Kate said to the waitress could be perceived as "hey, let's get it on". Sure, she says to the MC that she's interested, but does not interact with the waitress at all. In fact, she only adresses the waitress twice (the first time she says "I think I might need a couple of minutes, is that okay?", and the second time after a "yes" it's only "I think we might skip straight to dessert" which leads to her with the MC, and that's only after the blowjob). How do you interpret that as "hitting on" someone?

As for the lesbian scene, for me, it's not telling of her first time with a woman, it's the story of how she got into the "go with the flow" mentality.

My point is that Kate is trying to be what MC needs to get through his emotional breakdown by trying to force himself to live outside himself. There wouldn't be a fucking game if MC just drooped into a corner and cried himself to death. Kate is helping him get through that pain through distraction. She is the silent vehicle that gets him from A to B. MC isn't just turning on cruise control and letting the car keep pace, he's letting the women's desires take over and just simply doesn't say no. We get a backseat view so sit back and enjoy.
