Funny, my reading of that scene is that Kate is laying her cards on the table as early as possible that she's both bi and poly. The last thing she wants to do is get into a relationship from a dishonest place, he fell for her and then she told him, that would be a brtrayal. She did him a kindness by giving him an instant out.
I'm not trying to troll, I am sincere when I say that once again, while this may be the first 'Take you out for dinner moment' this first date is not officially a first date. They already know each other quite well. No one seemed to have a problem when Kate found MC and Mara in the park and not only acknowledged their relationship, but proposed a three-way entanglement. Low and behold though Kate becomes an actual feeling and thinking being who we don't just control and all of a sudden you all have issues. I'll rhyme, grab a tissue.
Laying your cards on the table early on is a very nice thing to do. Laying your cards like that blunt way, without seem to have any regard to the other party who was burned in a situation similar to that isn't.
My thoughts exactly, these people all "I don't want to share her, but she has to be ok with sharing me", come on people, the fact that she proposed a three way relationship, and told the MC to enjoy fucking people now that he broke up with his cheating Ex should have been dead giveaways that she is more than open with this shit, and hell, is better than she demonstrated that in front of the MC instead of acting behind his back.

She isn't insulting your manhood, in fact she's trying to help spread the word to more women that you have this natural born talent (not that MC needs much help to spread the word).

I get the impression that they weren't exactly close growing up. Rather she was his buddies hot little sister, and that was the extent of their relationship and how well they knew each other, I might be wrong though. And I think it's meaningless discussing the right and wrong in that scene, it comes down to perspective. For those that don't mind sharing, and for their partners expressing interest in other people will see Kate as a fun loving, go with the flow personality. Those that dislike that sort of stuff see her behavior as tactless and insensitive, and that she personifies the slut stigma. And of course it isn't fair that the girls the MC fucks shouldn't have the same freedom as him, meaning; anything goes. I don't mind sharing with women content generally, but in this scenario it does comes off as contradictive, and tactless from Kates when presented in that manner, simple as that.
