well this game is a spiritual successor to his previos game (Asuka and the king of steel) and but is not fully about mecha, i suspect this game isn't also

Yeah but I've seen fan translators refusing to differentiate between fan-translation and MTL. Notably the translations by Spinxas which is badly edited MTL but he refuses to state that in the language section.
