When literally the first scene ever in BTD is an incest scene, how can he claim that's not his thing? The guy has no excuse. He either jumped on the incest hentai bandwagon (which was gaining steam back then) to get money and then refused to cater to the people that supported him in the first place or he is full of shit, either one is indefendible.

That was clearly a mistake in retrospect. He either jumped on the bandwagon or he just wanted to do something wacky and taboo, that he has never done before. It is absolutely possible for an artist to create something, that you personally aren't aroused by. And BtD is full of one-off fetishes. Incest might as well have become one, if there weren't so many people out there, who love that stuff and asked for more. Had BtD been discovered by the watersports loving crowd first, it might have turned into a game, that mostly centers on conserving water.
Is it Alia with Paul or is it just Alia? In the latter case it's not incest. Lots of people like Alia even without the incest.
To make a final statement, that ties everything together: Surely it would have been best, if Balsa had put out an official, clearly worded statement, that he would prefer people to stop requesting incest, relatively early on. But then again, he doesn't frequent this forum. The temperature is quite different on his discord and in his patreon comments. I don't know if he is even aware of the amount of hate, that gets projected his way, because of his reluctance to make more incest.
But I think everyone, who has been coming here semi-regularly, has gotten the message a long, long time ago. Just let grass grow over it.

Probably because you would get kicked out or blocked from Discord. Hell, maybe that probably already happened to the people that criticized him over there. As for Patreon, they just stopped subscribing.

Where does that talk about him trolling originate? I never saw him talk ill of his fans. And I've been following the development of BtD from almost day 1. I think it's just some people having a persecution complex.
If that's true, then the great purge must have happened before I joined his Discord a few years ago. That, or the moderators are super fast. I've seen spam bots being deleted, but never anything else. Really, there aren't that many people posting over there. Most are just lurking, like me. It seems to me, like the critics prefer to fling shit from a distance. That or, again, the mods don't sleep.

About being canceled by Patreon, there were other examples before IIRC, Patreon support was reading threads in F95 for some games and canceled some of them too while their Patreon apges were clean of any rule breaking content. So Pixiv can be the reason for that sudden action after lots of complaints about the dev. If anyone gets in their radar after too many complaints, I believe they check every connected source. I'm just guessing, so the reason can be something else entirely.

Scat is worse because human feces contains a lot of pathogens that can cause disease like cholera, and typhoid fever. Poop is waste material for a reason. Of course fantasy is fantasy but having an irl scat fetish will probably lead to some serious health issues for you.

Incest is also associated with disease, which is half the reason, why it is so taboo. It can lead to pregnancy with a decent chance of health problems in the offspring. Of course that doesn't have to happen and birth control can be used. But scat can also be handled safely. It doesn't have to be ingested or rubbed into wounds and you can clean yourself aftewards.
Then there is the second issue with incest: It is frequently abusive, due to the inherent power differential in many of the common constellations (like parent/child, older sibling/younger sibling). Again, no guarentee, that this happens and nobody really knows how often incest actually is abusive. But it certainly is known for that. Scat doesn't have this problem.
Also, I'm not really all that concerned with IRL effects. To me, this discussion is more about perception. This is not about attacking incest or defending scat or lolis. It is about hypocrisy. I have defended incest many times in other places (I can dismantle any of my own anti-incest arguments). And now I see, that scat-haters are making many of the same arguments as incest-haters. It's mostly based on instinct and when logic is used, it tends to be applied one-sided.
Incest is one of the strongest taboos in the world. Popularity in porn doesn't change that. Seeing fans of that fetish hating on other fetishes makes me facepalm.
Incest, scat and lolicon are all problematic IRL (in my opinion, scat is the least problematic) and they are all equally problematic (or rather unproblematic) in fantasy.

You have to tell me how scat is objectively worse than incest OR how scat is regarded lower than incest by the general population. Neither is the case and you know that. And if you don't, then you seriously need to touch some grass.

Just because an act is performed by mythological characters in a holy book, doesn't mean it is permissible for the followers of that religion. Many creation myths have some sort of incest in it.
