I'm pretty damn sure I need to make you a small add-on file to actually turn on the steam cheevo code in the mod. I'll try to remember to do this when I get to the studio. If memory serves the base non-steam VN has the steam config and achievements set Off by default. I can make a file which will make them both On when the game is loading and all the embedded steam code would then function (in theory).

To answer your question, the first cheevo I recall is beating up Troy at the dorm room. You can in theory get some others first but that's the one I recall through standard playthrough... but might be mistaken.

Well i played the whole ep1 and i tried will all 3 mods, this one, scrappy and universal one, no achievements. No idea what changed, when i played season 1 on steam back at release it worked with scrappy mod, maybe the dev is being douche again like he is anti mods and put something in later episodes.

Well, no, it's not like that. See post above yours bud. This is not dev shenanigans... this is only setting the VN as non-Steamed vs Steamed. I will admit that after looking into it yesterday I thought I could make it a button you could press in the main screen to change (I got it working ~90%) but found that due to the way the base VN code is written I'll have to supply a separate version for each... I tried half a dozen different ways to allow the player to choose with just one version of the mod but one thing kept it from being a "go"... the damn bottom menu buttons refused to change to the Steam version, everything else worked (cheevos, guide button, etc). Now, because of this, if I release a proper steam version your save locations WILL CHANGE. This is the same as other VNs like Chasing Sunsets, Leap of Faith, etc where the AppData folder name is different. It's easy to copy/paste your saves but here's what is different with BaD: Saves made in the non-Steam version are NOT compatible with the proper Steam version if I don't drastically change the dev's save/load code. I can do this but I must test integrity... I can't for the life of me figure out why he is restricting loading of the non-steam saves but I'm looking into it.

Bottom line: anything is doable but I'm updating the mod for the non-steam version FIRST. I'm making concessions to allow fast building of a steam version as I go so we'll see.

I'll stop there before for now before this becomes a massive wall of text post.

Something wicked is coming....

As a part of the mod update I'm bringing back the missing v0.8.2 music that the dev lost the licenses to in v0.8.3. In preparation see post here for specific instructions. You'll need one file from 0.8.2 being "music_ep1.rpa". I'm working on adapting the code now for folks who never read instructions so the mod doesn't bork in case that original file isn't replaced by the user. More details very soon.

SanchoMod Update (S1/S2 v0.8.3)

Go get you some.

Links in the OP are updated accordingly.

NOTE: Please read the extra installation notes here for reverting music back to v0.8.2 (mod is fully coded to accept either playlist automatically. It's foolproof).

Latest features:
  • Rename (character) - functional across the board meaning the character name is reflected in: all other character's dialogue referencing her, her stats, her cheat buttons, fucking all of it. Based on the soon-to-be-infamouse "Tee-Hee" button found in my UoP mod but now it's on steroids.
  • Hotkey dialogue box adjustments - Alt+Arrow keys adjust the dialogue box opacity and dialogue font size. This is exactly the same effect you've used inside the SanchoOptions screen but allows you to perform the same thing via the keyboard without having to access the options menu.
  • Menu Choice Opacity - yes, you can even change that.
  • SanchoGallery scene filters - filter by character and/or scene type. Remember that SanchoGallery is accessed from the SanchoMod button in the Main Menu... the button for it will blink and shake to get your attention.
  • Menu Choice fade in / fade out
  • Countless GUI and coding tweaks
  • Whatever else I'm forgetting.
If you enjoy my work once you've had time to check it out, consider leaving a vote and/or review so others might benefit from your experience. Positive or negative, all civil forms of rational criticism are welcomed and appreciated. Your feedback matters. Regards.

SanchoMod Update (Interlude v0.0.1)

Go get you some.

Links in the OP are updated accordingly.

Latest features:
  • ChoiceGuide - temporary solution to get the Sancho ChoiceGuide (yes, it can be toggled On/Off) to work in the silly fucking choice "balloons".

  • SanchoGallery scene filters - filter by character and/or scene type. Remember that SanchoGallery is accessed from the SanchoMod button in the Main Menu... the button for it will blink and shake to get your attention.
  • SanchoCheats - code core rewrite for more efficient and future expansion for Ep9+.
  • Menu Choice fade in / fade out
  • Countless GUI and coding tweaks
  • Whatever else I'm forgetting.

This is some fantastic work, this mod should receive more praise that it has received. This is way better than scrappy mod, for sure.
So many options and things you can change, and so much ease of use provided for the user.

Thank you so much sancho1969 for this mod, it has really made my experience with the game so much more fun and provided so much more material for me to enjoy, cheers my friend. 1654157713599.png

So just to clarify, if someone were to be late to the party, and not HAVE any old music files, then this will still just fine? ('cause LoF was great, but I had everything I needed)

Smallest version to grab the music file would be the compressed version. The cleanest compressed version is the dev's compressed . If that's too big then don't sweat it... v0.8.3 isn't missing the same amount of music as LoF which was quite dramatic tbh. The source for that compressed link is directly from the dev's website . (just so you don't think I'm throwing you a curve ball).

I didn't code a Sage path cheat button as it's too simple to obtain... just be with her. In other words I was selective in the "cheats" as the ones there are the ones I used while creating the mod to speed run. If I didn't need something quick then I didn't code it. Is a Sage cheat really necessary?

No sir. Grab yourself a cheap lappy and your all set. PC/English is how I roll currently. I'm older now and can't see shit on my phone without glasses so I only use phones to call folks. Get yourself a proper rig bud, you won't regret it. If you can't afford it then sell either the Xbox or PS, you don't need both... and quit buying those damn $10 coffees at Starfucks. Folgers works just fine.
