The conundrum with Bella is that, as Tserriednich'sNen has said, aside from her own issues, while her heart may desire the MC, her head still wants the MC for Jill rather for herself. This puts a double-lock on how fast MC's relationship with her can progress. Further, if we break Jill's heart in order to be with Bella (by, say, just dating Jill to spite Tybalt) - it'll likely backfire and instead cause Bella to hate us too. It'll be interesting to see how this dynamic is resolved.
Having said that, I think we will have a big breakthrough in the Bella and Jill story arc due to this preview render.
Unlike many others, I do not think this flashback will come at the beginning of Ep.5 ala the M&J one that began Ep.4 (that will be the DIK founding flashback methinks.) My theory is that this will be a Zoey-style flashback with the role reversed. This time it will be Bella narrating some of her history to the MC in a sit-down. The significance of the difference is that it will not be an info dump just to the player but not known/seen by the MC, this will be (a) info that the MC will be privy to and can act upon, and (b) the relationship must have progressed sufficiently for MC to be trusted with it.
Also, despite it being narrated by Bella, I think that there's a 50:50 chance it will be as much about her telling us about Jill as it is about herself. This, methinks, will be about how Bella came to be friends with Jill's sister and, specifically, how she died being (a) linked directly to the closing down/disbandment of the Sorority seen in the pic (b) how it badly affected Jill, and (c) how Bella and Jill's relationship was cemented by it.
My hypothesis anyway...not long now before we see what's what.

All the encouraging the MC and Jill is a good example of what I was saying.
She handled a potential love triangle and her own confusion about the situation between her, the MC and Jill by attempting to step aside.
She thought it through and did what her morals thought was best... sure it didn’t last long and she buckled In the pool but even after that she reaffirmed it was best her and MC didn’t do anything and he pursue Jill.
don’t get me wrong we’re still barrelling towards a drama explosion but at least the way she’s handling the situation is sensible.
There will be drama, Bella’s husband or Jill standing between her and MC but her behaviour has always been above board and honest. Unlike Maya/Josy...

And yet this is potentially the first time it's happened to him, with someone who's very close to Quinn, and someone who's in the vicinity of where the laptop that sent out that picture of Cathy was found.
There's honestly too many coincidences and hints in this direction for it to turn out not to be her, or at least for her to have had a hand in it.
Or maybe it's linked to the Bella/Cathy preview pic. Maybe Cathy asks Bella why she doesn't like Jade and this is a flashback that explains their history for us to see, but not the MC.

Why would Cathy ask Bella why she doesn't like Jade? When it's possible she herself doesn't even know that. Look at the preview again and read their faces, her trip to Bella's was obviously about the nude photo scandal.

True, but we had that lunch with the 3 of them where Bella abruptly left because of Jade, so I'd be surprised if Cathy didn't know there was some bad blood there. Also, the preview was just one image, we don't know where that conversation will go. Perhaps Cathy talks about the councillor group having to deal with what happened and Jade's name gets brought up and Bella bristles at the mention of her name or makes a snide remark prompting Cathy to ask why they don't get along.

It's more than likely Cathy is aware of an issue between them even though we haven't heard from that side but I'd imagine Jade would have at least told her at some point.

Then it must have happened before Jade understood that Cathy was sleeping with Stephen. I'm guessing that without being colder towards Cathy, Jade must not be very interested in sharing secrets anymore.

Like you said it wouldn't this leaked photo is of the main concern right now for Cathy and nothing else Jade and Bella's issue is the least of her concerns

Well this is pure speculation, but events can happen roughly like this:
- Off story / not told
* Jade has become somewhat more distant with Cathy, who feels she can't confide in her anymore
* When the cluck event happens, she need to talk to someone but neither Jade nor Stephen are possible candidates
* We've seen that Cathy and Bella have off-class interactions as they eat together
- Possible course of events
* Jade goes to Bella's to discuss the cluck issue and asks for possible advice
* Bella has a past history with bullying, either hers or Jill's. She doesn't need to tell Cathy the exact details, but we see it in the reminiscence.
* The events take place when Bella herself had entered or was already in the university
And we have the link with the preview image.
Another possibility would be Bella telling MC but it would make no sense if he wasn't living at her house, they wouldn't have a close relationship enough. I believe that this event has to be told whatever route is followed.

Bella and Cathy have known each other longer so there's probably more trust there and it's also fairly clear that she doesn't let people in that easily so she's obviously not going to tell some young student all about herself after only knowing him for a couple of weeks.
Also, as I said, the conversation can easily be steered in other directions. All that has to happen is for Jade's name to get brought up, likely in the context of the school councillor group Cathy is part of, and for Bella to react negatively to her name being mentioned. Cathy could then simply say, "What's the deal between you and Jade?", and voila, we get Bella telling Cathy why they don't get along.
The conversation doesn't have to be all about the picture leak as most conversations people have don't generally centre on just one topic. You could be talking to someone who recently lost their Dad but then start talking about their vacation plans, so it's not impossible these two previews could be linked.
Bella is one of the 5 main love interests.
mc is 18, Bella is 35, so she is almost twice his age. She's helping mc when he needs some clothing or when he's drunk.
For me she is more a (motherly) friend than a possible date or longtime love interest. My mc goes more for the girls of his age (Maya, Josy). Jill and Sage are a couple years older than mc, but Bella is 17 years older.

I wish I had the foresight into knowing what their conversation is going to be about that's a neat trick. Women are generally going to gossip and have a drink or two Cathy will most likely be talking to Bella about the whole leaked photo situation and maybe Bella might enquire about how the MC is doing in class.
