I think I’ve said before I like Maya. Once she gets the hang of his cock, she and the MC have fun when they go at it. It’s quite unlike most of the other fuck scenes. For example, Sage. She could watch anime, which is a stark contrast to her tough girl image. She could throw in some random quote from Evangelion or Naruto during her dialog with MC, and wear a costume like Sakura to the party.
If you don't like the way of revealing through contrast, you could have emphasized a character trait more strongly through a habit or trait.
Maya loves movies and dreams of becoming an actress. She secretly rehearses in front of the mirror portraying some movie characters or is a fan of a certain movie character and wants to be like her. For example, she decided to become a social worker because her favorite movie character in one movie was also her.
Again this is just thinking out loud. I see a lot of potential in the game and I hope it will be revealed in time.

You have an interesting vision of this game (work), but it is unlikely that it is popular. Most still and in any case consider BADIK to be another adult or just a porn game, just better quality than competitors. I don't agree with this point of view either. Yes, BADIK is AVN, but if most games of this genre can be called "porn magazines" (material for jerking off, forgetting and throwing away), then BADIK is a deeper and higher-quality product, yes, there are also "elements" and "scenes", but here you can ask yourself - steel would you play this game if the lewd scenes were completely absent? I suppose the answer could be "yes". After all, there is a good example - Summers gone, and this game has a lot of fans. Well, I prefer to call BADIK an adult novel or something like that. There are many elements besides sex and nudity, a realistic plot and believable characters. Regarding the examples and comparisons that you have given, I think that the author will avoid too controversial or narrowly focused "hobbies" for game characters, this may alienate those who don't like it (one of your examples is anime). The need to delve too much into such details is also questionable. An example with Maya - she likes movies, but to develop this into a desire to become an actress and antics in front of a mirror... in my opinion, it's an example of bad writing. It's just ridiculous, imo.

Btw, I don't think Cara Delevingne is a bad actress. Not the best, but good. I really liked her performance in Suicide Squad (2016) as the Enchantress. Also she has a very unique facial features just like Quinn's. Kinda intimidating and seductive at the same time.

And her flashing the boob in the hallway at the Halloween party is linked to MC status that must be at least Neutral (not an affinity). Chick MC can't get that scene, because his status can't be Neutral, but Neutral and DIK one - ok.

I'm probably the first Josy hater on this forum.

She annoys me more than attracts me most of the time.
Ok, she's sexy and has a wild side to her, she'd be a good girlfriend for a night out, but other than that....
Josy is just useless. The story doesn't need her, Maya doesn't need her. If she hadn't come MC and Maya would have started dating and Patrick's problem would have solved itself.
She's always running after MC with puppy dog eyes and looking in his mouth. She is actorically suffering because she is in an unhappy relationship with Maya and doesn't have the courage to break up with her. She puts the blame on MC and blames him for their own decision to break up with him ep4. This chick is a real mess in the head.
Plus she has complexes because of her height.
Josy is just one big ball of insecurity and cowardice.
