Do you know how many Harry Potter fans would have (if they had the power) tried to FORCE JK Rowling to keep this character alive or that character? To make one character gay or another one a certain race or not? The brutal truth is that people who consume a product, feel like they have some ownership of said product. They feel a certain kinship to it, and this has never been more true than in a video game, because most of us identify as the MC. I remember playing Mass Effect 3 and how that game ended kicked up such a firestorm (rightly so, promises were made and broken by Bioware and the ending was clearly undercooked and overthought) because people identified so strongly with their Shepard, they couldn't bear to have such a weak ending for them.
Here on BaD its much the same. There are people here- not naming names -who are literally obsessed with fictional bits of words and Daz artwork. They feel personally affronted when those bits of code do something 'wrong'. But the thing to remember is, ultimately this isn't YOUR story. Maya is always going to be gay. Bella is always going to have a secret trauma. Raccoons are always going to rise from the dead and dress like bananas RUINING Halloween for everyone and-
I digress. The point is, this IS how art works. DPC has his quirks sure, but no one can deny he has a vision and is an artist. This is what art looks like. Its uncompromising, it offends or attracts, evokes strong feelings. The kind of paint-by-numbers, decision-by-commitee, focus group tested crap is what we're getting out of Hollywood these days and its why movies are completely forgettable now.
Moreover the kind of game you seem to be longing for, a sort of player-centric harem simulator, everything is light and fluffy and the MC solves every problem with his cock already exists. In fact its one of the most common game types on this website. DPC doesn't make that kind of game. He TOLD you he doesn't make this kind of game. You being disappointed that this isn't the game you want to play, isn't a failure on the part of the developer, its a failure on the part of the consumer. If you walked into a Hummer dealership and bought an H1, its not the dealerships problem when you come back in a month and say, 'why do i get such shitty gas mileage?'
So the real question is, why are you still here? You don't want to deal with 'woke shit'. Great. You don't like his timetable. Okay. You know how you could avoid all this horribleness? Never come back to this game or this particular section of the forum. Ever. Don't reply to my message. Don't check for updates. Don't waste any of your precious time on something so offensive to you.
But lets be honest, you won't do that. Because you have an opinion and you want the game to change. You know it won't, so you do the next best thing. You bitch to the people who ARE enjoying the game and try and drum up support for your views. You are a thief. A whiner. And not even a producer.
You aren't entitled to what you already have, much less what you want.
