Good you mention season one because that goes back to season 1. Season 1 is 2 week at best in game time. and to be honest it's officially not even over until episode 6.
and this was already weird in episode 9 that at between the end of episode 8 and between the halloween party MC not find the time to tell for Josy and Maya that he wants to be with them or not

but dpc focus is on the free roaming and mini games , instead of a consistent time line. so now we jumping weeks forward, for Haloween and for Xmas, and for Spring break eventually.
The excuse given for not telling Maya and Josy he's dumping them is because of what happened at the Burkes, so he didn't pile on. That's fine I guess, but he still dragged it out way too much. But if you choose to be with them, MC wants the moment to he perfect, which coincidentally takes just as long because he's an idiot.

In Ep 2, while Josy is still cheating, she doesn't see it as bad cause they're "on a break" and her plan is to move away and never see Maya again anyway.
In Ep 10, it is definitely cheating, and she knows it's wrong, no wonder she is more uncertain and confused.
Maybe I'm misremembering what was exactly said in Episodes 3 and 4, but Josy changed her mind about running away forever. She must've, since she officially entered B&R and was assigned to a dorm with only one occupant (on paper). That plus telling MC about it and not Maya means she was probably going to choose him, and since they're all freshman that will definitely see each other frequently, Josy would have to man up and dump Maya.

When Josy fucked MC the first time she was still planning on moving away, she only changed her mind when she got accepted into B&R, because her parents confiscated her phone and grounded her after nearly catching her with MC she couldn't tell MC or Maya that she was coming to college rather than moving away. You're right that she hadn't told Maya about her plans to move away, it appears her break up plan with Maya was basically the same as Zoey's with MC.

Then after she got to college MC basically ghosts her and she reconnects with Maya. So as far as she knows when it comes to the ep 4 decision if MC doesn't suggest the throuple then he is no longer interested in a relationship with her but Maya still wants to be with her. And if MC does suggest the throuple but Maya rejects it (because of DIK affinity) she doesn't know if MC only suggested it because he wants her, wants Maya or would only accept both, so it makes no sense for her to dump Maya for MC at this stage because she doesn't know if MC would accept her.

So what you're saying is Josy is locked out of the MC path

At that point yes, if you put yourself in her shoes would you reject your current lover, who you had been drifting away from but recently reconnected with, for a potential lover who may not be interested in you anymore and has hardly even spoken to you for a week?
I don't think it's an entire week, but I get your point.
That's another thing, Maya and Josy don't really tell each other about how they know MC, and I don't mean how they're both falling for him.

As far as Maya knows, Josy is nothing but a surprise to MC and he leaves in a huff after her arrival, because Maya was supposedly single. Maya either didn't notice how Josy was trying to talk to him as he was packing up to leave, or didn't think it meant anything special.
To Josy, MC is just coincidentally Maya’s roommate, and he leaves feeling betrayed by the identity of her "boyfriend." Maya already revealed she likes girls to MC, but Josy didn't, so it's quite possible that from her perspective, MC looks homophobic.

And even after Tremolo, chucked his tantrum and walked out, they still never talked to each other about it or anything. It wasn't till the DIKs party, that Tremolo informed them that he'd been with both of them, they had no idea.

Those 2 have such issues communicating and sharing feelings and such with each other, it's almost impossible to see them together long term (especially if it's just the 2 of them).

I wish we had the option to completely cut both Josie & Maya out of the friendship circle after that point.
Maybe it would mean we would be hypocritical or giant assholes, but it just rubs me the wrong way that the game forces you to be friends with them even after that shitstorm of events caused by, like Milton749 said, their non-existent communication skills as a couple (you'd think both of them being 'persecuted' for being bisexual would mean they would be more honest with each other).

Coincidentally, Intertwined had something similar happen,

I want Tremolo to have a Sith option to deal with some LIs that burn him.

In badik the dramatic moments are very pumped up, but then at the same time the consequences are downplayed, pee simplicity and laziness. The option of leaving someone aside is not viable, and the gathering scene for Maya removes all doubt

In Intertwined it's the girls (LIs) who burn bridges with MC. He never wants to do it intentionally. Probably with the only exception is with Erynn. When he passes by intentionally while Ethan beats her. And even this case occurs because of miscommunication and misunderstanding between the two, in similar way as it happened 5 years ago, but this time it totally ruins their friendship and any possibility of relationship as well. Then it also ruins relationship/friendship with her bestie - Alexis.

So even there MC acts the way he acts while having an excuse of misunderstanding and overreaction here and there and doing a stupid things like trying to date both sisters, thinking they won't find out or by dating multiple girls. But never because he is a jerk as is or he makes such things intentionally. It's the opposite, he is usually very polite and treat all girls well and in a right way. Players are allowed to make mistakes and create a lot of drama and cat-fights as well. Surprisingly, MC can be rude and non friendly with his own... mother. Kinda "son of the year". If you're very persistent you may make every girl hate you and get a special variable (no_friends), but after that gameplay becomes boring as fuck, because almost every event except very canon ones are being skipped.

In BADIK it's barely possible, because most of girls are a part or canon story and removing them completely from MC life will not allow to tell this story properly.

Which is precisely what makes me sad, I want to hold a grudge, no matter the significance or justification for it!
Also, Maya & Josie can still remain in canon events, but MC doesn't have to like them or actively help them.
  • In the case of helping Maya understand the legality of her contract with her father, the event can play out differently depending on your relationship with Maya, Josie or Sage. If you are on good terms with any of those girls, the event plays normally (with maybe a few dialogue adjustments to convey your choices).
  • If you ignored or didn't romance any of the three girls (or even the hot teacher), just skip the damn event and show the aftermath - not like MC's presence had any actual influence on the outcome of that night, Maya was still legally fucked.
I mean, if the player wants to ignore the girls with the most content, it should be an option, at the cost of skipping their content, no?

To me it is acceptable that they continue to treat each other, they are students, they know each other, it is boring but acceptable. I'm also okay that for important issues there is active involvement.

I don't like to be involved in side activities just to stretch the content, one example out of all is the yoga class, because Bella invites mc even if there is nothing between them, if he chose someone else instead of her, if they explicitly don't like each other, and just to scold him for being distracted by the girls present, and that's whatever our behavior is.

For me, it's the major flaw of the game. And not just the M&J stuff. If you aren't pursuing Jill or Bella you are still stuck with . .

The Bella 'date' to prove that you are worthy of Jill (even though you don't want Jill)

Breaking into the Prep mansion to play the guitar.

The Jill tennis date

The endless ep5 visit to Bella's house

And probably more that I'm forgetting about.

And it's not because MC is friends with them. How many of MC's friends are showing up to help with the cleaning after the DIK's place is trashed? We're now regularly seeing the HOT's cleaning up after parties but where was that help when we really needed it?

It's the problem with the story. We are TOLD that MC is friends with everyone, but we're not SHOWN the MC's friends acting like friends.

I'm sure we all have games where we wish that option was available especially when the dev forces a LI you don't want. If it's that bad I tend to use my Sith option of stop playing and delete the game, usually making a note to "blacklist" that devs games from what I play. Most times you can't since that character is vital to the main plot in some way. In those cases I just tend to play and skip through the parts I don't care about or play them the worst way possible just for kicks.
