I honestly need to see Josy away from Maya. A lot of her character is helping Maya with her issues. I think that by herself, we might get a better Josy. The storyline about her wanting the MC despite his not picking her is showing promise. Hopefully, she'll be allowed to be alone more so she can develop a darker/more fun character.I was thinking Carol-Lyn, to make up for Gina...

But the reason she needs drama is because BaD is a drama.
By real life standards, she's a fairly maintenance free, easy going, very cute girlfriend. But in this story, she's lacking the story's focus. Other characters have reasons to talk about them:
Josy is just too vanilla for a story that is driven by drama. I'm not saying she's a bad character, I like her for what she is, but most of her story is related to someone else: Tommy's sister, Maya's girlfriend.
- Bella has her mysterious past with James and her potential psychosis.
- Maya has the controlling father and the loan that is dragging on for seasons.
- Sage did have all that Chad shit, but also she's the president of the HOTs, so that keeps her in the stories focus.
- Quinn has the whole drug scene that is slowly pulling the mc in, and all her other shit going on.
- Jill has the dead sister, the fuckable mom, the potential link, through Bianca, to the mc's mom, the drama with Tybalt.
- Riona has the whole "tragedy waiting to happen" vibe.
And it's not that her character isn't defined, it is. We get to know a lot about her throughout the story. It's just that the story has no reason to focus on her. I mean, when does the story actually focus on Josy? It's pretty much when she's worrying about Maya, or when it's time to fuck her.

It's interesting that even though it's a throuple, you often have to choose between Maya and Josy from the beginning:
- Go with Josy to help her with her stuff from her dad, or stay with Maya and fuck her for the first time,
- Sleep in Josy's bed, or sleep in Maya's bed (ok, you can push the beds together at least and sleep with both),
- Watch TV with Maya, or go fuck Josy at the HOTs.
- And even if you don't make it into the throuple, you still get to choose which one you still have feelings for (none, either but not both).
Please stop, you've started to affect Marvin's behavior. He's gone on his own and met with some strange women.

Maybe I am too harsh with Josy. It's because of episode 10. Josy only suggests MC being Maya's beard if she has the fresh memory of Chad using Sage as a beard. But it's not really fair to judge that so harshly.
There technically is another character who believes the HOT tuition rumour, but since Becky's other mental feats includes not understanding that twins have the same birthday it doesn't really make Maya look any better.
I admit that I give Maya some free passes because I can imagine the kind of despair and pressure she's under. It's a massive handicap to rational thinking. You could say that I should give Jill the same passes, but that really only applies to Tybalt's blackmail and she clearly starts learning that lesson from that point onwards. The problem is that she has known him for two years and everyone else is shown to understand Tybalt very quickly. The three prep freshmen for example.
Now Quinn was a good argument against Sage. Much better than Chad. But Quinn is a lot better at hiding her true self than Tybalt and unlike Jill Sage has no-one pointing out what Quinn is to her. So Sage is still smarter than Jill. However, another point against Sage is ironically the Tybalt and Jill situation. Sage should know better than anyone else that what Tybalt says about Jill being his soulmate is delusional bullshit. Sage should have been helping Jill deal with him from the start. I can only suppose that Sage assumed Jill couldn't possibly believe in Tybalt's BS and had to be his type of person. Jill's naivete fuelled Sage's cynicism and that is as I said massively ironic.
So maybe all four of them are about the same level. They have their moments. Both positive and negative ones.
Bella however has no flaws whatsoever.
