    TL;DR
    – minor spoilers are hidden

    PROS
+ Enthralling yet mostly lighthearted story full of humor along with mysteries and intrigues to be explored.

+ Writing in terms of language.

+ The story-driven nature of this novel implies semi-realism (with assumptions and simplifications) at least to a certain acceptable degree without typical power fantasies.

+ Basically relatable and likable non-creepy protagonist.

+ Non-linear walkthrough with multiple variations in the subplots.

    + High quality renders.

+ A lot of lewd scenes and they all are decently (not outstandingly though) animated.

+ Music selection. A plenty of licensed tracks that fit right in with the ongoing events and atmosphere.

+ Getting to the lewd scenes isn’t based on stereotypical porn fiction crap like blackmail & extortion, corruption & molestation, mind control, magic power etc.

+ A lot of male and female characters – everyone with different personalities. The vast majority of them do matter for the story and either contribute some value to the plot advancing or add joyful moments to your experience.

+ Definitely not related people getting laid with each other.

+ No grind. There is a simplified money function but you can completely ignore it without major consequences.

    Mixed impressions
    * The role play mechanics revolving around regular choices forging your "status" (behavior inclinations) and rare major decisions forging your affinity (basis of personality).

I appreciate the dev's effort and personally view it as a merit, but it turns out contradictory and unpolished: at times it leads to illogical or even weird outcomes, let alone the volume of content available: logic and common sense frequently become hostages of the in-game conventions. On the other hand, this karma model secures the great non-linearity.

    * Humiliation content in Episodes 2-4 is rather over the top and unavoidable in most cases as it’s an integral part of the story beyond your control over the protagonist. The narrative could’ve justified this kind of coercive content in a more convincing fashion.

    * Unbalanced screen time of the main love interests. Some heroines get a remarkably higher number of both lewd and non-lewd scenes (renders, animations and dialogue lines) notwithstanding your choices and current route. Although it might be an advantage if you are into specific lucky heroines.

    * Free-roams. They tend to supply us with a bunch of fetch quests and grind opportunities. Occasionally they can be meaningful for the story and relationships advancing.

    * Female characters outfits. Given we are in a porn fiction it can’t be called a shortcoming. But all those overly skimpy or provocative outfits, even on the staff members and women of relatively strict morals, might appear too unbelievable, incongruous and simply comical in a bad way even for an American Pie tier of movies, which in turn might ruin your experience to some extent. Very often a female’s manner of dress contradicts her own personality established throughout the story and this is glaring.

Perhaps I exaggerate with this one, but first off, it’s meant to be a story-driven novel in a slice of life college setting that is supposed to stick to its semi-realism.

    * Mini-games. Some of them like brawling are quite worthy and interrelated with certain plot incidents or they just bring in fun and variety. By and large they are not rewarding enough. Since they are optional they can't be deemed a flaw.

    * The way how the relationships are shaped. Broads fall in love with the protagonist way too fast for no apparent reasons. Unlike the dev’s first novel – Acting Lessons – and many other novels it's at least somehow disguised and has some grounds.

    CONS
I won’t dwell on minor and out of plot flaws like the torturous free-roam navigation and unrealistically oversized or over-exaggerated (in other aspects) proportions of certain heroines.

    - Limited control over the protagonist in the established circumstances.

    - Forced content with a few main love interests outside of their routes that is not duly justified by the narrative and doesn’t feel plausible. You have to over-exploit your suspension of disbelief to suck it up.

    - Overuse of caricature characters. Caricature means a one-dimensional and hardly believable character intended to be a comical relief. A small number of supporting caricature characters in the cast are fine – they bring funny moments to your walkthrough. But their number is rather excessive.

Worst of all, several major characters fall into this category too. Caricature nature of our protagonist’s rivals and antagonists belittles them as characters, deprives us of any tension and thus spoils impression from the story as a whole.

    - Contrived and ridiculous drama for the sake of drama. Note that I don’t question its necessity for a college comedy adventure as well as I don’t mind drama at all but it should pull you in and get you to empathize with suffering characters. That happens when reasons for drama are convincing and ensured by compelling arguments. Instead, it looks like if the novel aims to engage teenage and emotionally fragile girls who are definitely not the dev’s target audience.

Unfortunately, a lot of drama arcs and scenes dumped on us are poorly handled from the story standpoint: they have a weak foundation and rely on such means like nonsensical inexistent laws, comical overestimation of commonplace problems, our lack of control over the protagonist or all together.

In result, you just don’t buy it and the drama causes bewilderment and alienation from those troubled characters rather than empathy. This side of the novel is one of its weakest spots. For instance, the laughable drama renditions we encounter in this novel are nothing compared to one abandoned curly girl’s drama in that glossy cyberpunk mercenary novel – a subplot within a totally different undramatic genre.

    - Approach to the plot handling and direction. The dev deliberately keeps us in the dark, artificially entangles the plot and strips us of sufficient control over the protagonist – even against common sense – in order to prepare the ground for dumping plot twists and shocking revelations further as well as to subvert our expectations, which becomes an obsession – sort of an end in itself. Such plot contrivances are a putrid infection of this novel. In the end a good intention to set out a coherent plausible and appealing story gets undermined by such the approach.

Most of the plot ambiguities and secrets would’ve been already uncovered and explored if the protagonist could ask simple and reasonable questions or spent a couple minutes to find out whom he even communicates and hangs out with, what their basic background is. A candid conversation would quickly dislodge most of these contrived intricacies and wreck this artificial plot twists conveyor.

For instance: even a high school student would proceed with caution and ask relevant questions if he stood overnight at a married bombshell woman’s home – at a very minimum for his own safety’s sake. Same goes for the deliberate concealment of many characters’ surnames. That’s a cheap writing trick of keeping your story thrilling.

Notice that the plot entanglements in this novel along with your inability to pry and exercise caution are not strengthened by any appropriate plot points like, for instance, one redhead bombshell's mystery in that neon-lit mercenary techno-thriller novel, which is thought out from the narrative perspective and substantiated by valid points when the prying is an available option but it won’t even work out for good reasons. Unluckily, that is clearly not the case here.

    - Writing in terms of distinctions of characters in wording and speaking patterns. Most characters speak like if they rooted from a same person with the same vocabulary and phrasing or like if they are entities processed by a same hive-mind. That is the case when a non-professional enthusiast outside of jobs that require a lot of communication (so to say – writers in the line of duty) takes on designing and scripting a large scale story with dozens of characters while staying a one-man team and neglecting third-party contractors despite availability of funds.

This novel desperately needs a seasoned writer who would diversify and enliven dialogue lines of many characters so you would perceive them as undeniably, distinctively individual personalities. The dev apparently underestimates it. Ironically, this side of the novel loses against the one in that notorious overhyped abandoned sandbox about a scrawny creep brutally revenging his ostensibly sinister teacher for her [non-] rejection, and there is no wonder because that creator doesn’t hesitate to hire an experienced third-party contractor.

    Further notes
    * Even though the dev states that the novel has been planned to be a lighthearted college comedy at its core blended with mostly off-screen and non-grave crimes without atrocities and tragedies, I recognize subtle indicators and portents that he is tricking us into thinking this way – the novel will appear lighthearted only by his own standards and not for the audience.

And his standards are no doubt cruel to put it mildly – to bypass spoilers and nausea I won’t mention one particular little-known atrocity in his previous novel, which the overwhelming majority of players neither found out nor realized.

    * Furthermore, the dev asserts he designed and mapped out the story beforehand with only insignificant and cosmetic alterations adopted since the development start. This seems untrue because it means he on purpose set up a major dramatic subplot locked onto inexistent laws and an almost impossible situation.

Much more likely that his plot twist frenzy did him a disservice and led to a hilarious state of play: one of the patrons’ most favorite girls turned into the least favorite following his yet another “breathtaking” reveal but she still gets the most screen time including both renders and dialogue lines and this state is irreversible. This weirdness might’ve never happened without the dev’s addiction to plot twists for the sake of plot twists and in fact is the outcome of his miscalculation in the scripting caused by his misestimation of the target audience and his heavy reliance on unnecessary plot twists mindlessly.

    Conclusions
    * I recommend you to give this novel a go. Most likely it will draw you in, especially if you seek for a story-driven experience and not a sexfest. The story is indeed enjoyable.

    * This novel is considered No.1 in the adult segment. I am inclined to agree taking into account its massive volume of content – in TOP 3 undoubtedly.

    * Get ready for disappointments and subverted expectations.

    * To dodge spoilers I also advice you to not play the dev’s first novel – Acting Lessons – until he completes this one.

That’s not because you with high probability will be frustrated and get an unpleasant aftertaste – the reason is that playing the dev’s previous creation gives you insight into his writing stunts and plotting tropes from inside so you can project them onto this novel and, of course, spoil your experience.

    * I rounded up to 4 stars due to the scale and content quantity that shouldn't be disregarded. If the interlude episode is counted too then my final grade descends from 4 fading stars down to 2.5 collapsing stars.

Absolutely gorgeous, all the characters feel alive and are very lovable.
The sex scenes are very well made and beautiful.
The romances and taboos are gripping and wholesome. I just really love this game, this is my favorite.
Really waiting for the next update. Keep up the very hard and good work.

    0.8.2
Went in because everyone and their mother was recommending BaD on this site, so I went in with quite the high expectations.
The initial impact is very good, but finishing the available game left me with some reservations.

    PROS
+ High quality models. All the girls are fantastic, some more realistic than others, but they tend to be in the upper high tier of quality on this site.
+ Easy to pick up storyline.
+ Good sex animations (especially later on)
+ Mostly good characterization, the girls don't feel like sex dolls, for the most part. They all have a proper personality, with some better fleshed out than others.

    MIX'D
+ Incredibly raunchy college story. If you don't like American Pie comedy upped to the extreme, you'll find most of the humor and situations in this game unsettling, boring or distasteful.
+ Minigames. They can be fun but they tend to overstay their welcome.
+ Karma system. I personally enjoy it, but sometimes it's unbalanced on the amount of content offered between two paths.

    CONS
+ Overly dramatic. I think the story and characters quickly devolve into melodrama. Tragic backgrounds are overused. It feels like a melò trying to disguise itself as a play.
+ Unnecessary plot twists. Strictly linked to the above, some plot twists are too gratuitous/dramatic for the story and feel better at place in a pink novel than a porn game (a particular reveal apparently sparked a lot of heat)

The production value is very high. Dev clearly cares about the project and it shows. However, the plot resorts too much to melodrama and tragic backstories, almost as a cheap way to keep players involved, rather than actually writing a mature story.
The juvenile comedy can either become funny or intolerable. Most girls have very interesting arcs and characters, but as said before they tend to be too sappy.
All in all a good game, capable of hiding its writing weakpoints behind melò and its stellar graphics/animations.

The best game in this site. Indebatable. BaDIK is THE gold standard of adult games. It not only has raised the bar for games of the sort, it is the very bar itself. No other game has top marks in every single category like this one. Hell, I don't think most games are as good as this right here! There is so much greatness to find in here, I won't waste your time telling it. Play for yourself. You can thank me later.

I honestly don't know why this is rated so high since is just an average, simple, one of many boring stories , about a teenage boy who fucks a lot of chicks and so that qualifies him to be called 'a DIK' . I didn't see anything special or outstanding as to have so many posts praising it and calling it a "master piece" when I personally didn't find anything that would quallify it as such, and I have played many, many visual novels of all kinds and generes and frankly , this is a good and entertaining game with too much of the same that it becomes boring and it made me lose interest very quickly because there is nothing interesting for me that I haven't seen before in other games. I give it 2 stars just because of the graphics and animations are great, but other than that, it's just another game in the bunch out there.

play 0.8.2 with a french trad (which explains my poor written English, sorry)

story: 5/5 Everything is there! A lot of humor, feeling, adventure, eroticism, fear! At no time did I want to skip the text!

characters: 5/5 The characters are all very different and super well written (even men, which is rare in this kind of games) and we find ourselves loving them all! (Sage is really my big crush)

sex scene: 5/5 They are super well taken in the story and in a very appreciable quantity! All of them are really hot and really unique!

renders: 5/5 It's just impressive how beautiful the game is! The only thing I've struggled with is the red eyes that I find really freaky.

animation: 5/5 Clearly my top 1 on this (equal with Nadia), not only are they superb and fluid, but also in very large numbers!!!

sound: Just perfect and totally sticks to the "teen movie" theme!

gameplay: 5/5 Just amazing, you will want to make and redo the game again and again so you don't miss anything! The phone is at the top, with even very fun social networks! "Mini games" are successful, "free time" is provided things to do! And the choices are huge and with real consequences!
Where at first glance one might think of a binary game of "bad" or "nice", it turns out to be much more complex!

We are simply in the presence of a cult game!

Awesome VN, one of the best i've played in a really long time. I wish that I tried it sooner, lots a sexy characters and very good dialog. There wasn't a point where I wanted to skip any of the dialog. The scenes are great, the renders and animation is beautiful. There is even replayability to see events that you might have not met requirements for before. This dev deserves major support.

One of the best VN. Great visual, rememberable characters, interesting story and dialogues, unexpected of plot twists in the story and there are some great jokes that actually made me laugh. I also enjoy playing minigames in this game

Excellent game. There are other AVNs that I would consider to have better stories or has better art, but BaDIK is easily the most well-rounded in all aspects. The music used in the game is easily the best among AVNs. The option to skip mini-games allows the player to not feel terribly tired while re-playing the game. Great character building too (both among the LIs and the non LIs). BaDIK sets the standard for AVNs made in the future.

Easily one of the top 10 (if not top 5) here. As I read somewhere, you come first for the lewd scenes but stay for the story(ies), great ones. And don't forget the amazing music DPC chose, some really underrated out there, unknown diamonds for our (and other's) ears.

VN with an actually interesting story and not drawn out dialogue.
Derek reminds me of a friend i had when i was studying, the kind of guy who would drag me to parties, however Derek is an extreme version of him which makes him hilarious.
Soundtrack is very good, renders are insane and the hair looks really good.
Fighting minigame reminds me of a game called 5 street which i used to play as a kid, fun.

This was first game of this ilk that I ever played and I've been chasing the dragon ever since. Haven't found anything that comes close to comparing. Each and every character has depth that'll make you care about them in some way, and the dialogue is actually well written which I've found is pretty rare in this genre.

I also like the fact that you can miss out on a lot of options in the story depending on your choices. Sometimes games will let you know that your actions will have consequences for the rest of the story, but they're never really that significant.

All of the character models are really well made, (if anything they might seem a little too polished) and one of two of the scenes has awkward animations but considering how many scenes there are, it amounts to about 1%. So yeah, probably the only 10/10 VN I've played.

Oh yeah, and the soundtrack slaps.

Not going to spend much time on minor issues like the protagonist's imbecilic looking hairstyle, clunky free roam sequences and other less important stuff so let's get straight into it.

    WHY GAME BAD:

VAPID STORYTELLING DEVOID OF SUBTLETY, TENSION OR STAKES

Every antagonist (barring Quinn who you fuck) is either immediately humiliated upon introduction or shortly after as to not accidentally establish them as valid competition for the MC and in the process offend the audience who the dev clearly sees as extremely insecure and not very bright. This doesn't just nullify their antagonistic status but practically kill off the main theme of the game - the rags to riches transformation of the main character.

The game even continuously makes fun of them on the in-game social media, beating you over the head with it over and over. WE GET IT, they're stupid drooling diaper-shitting cavemen and you're cool and get all the bitches. WE GET IT. Wait, what do you mean the protagonist was supposed to be the loser and THEY were supposed to highlight your difference in class/strength/etc. thus creating a genuine hurdle to overcome?

This approach to storytelling makes it so that there's nothing to lose, nothing to gain and therefore no genuine tension, no real conflict and thus absolutely no payoff.

The zero tension issue continues further as every girl you encounter is practically immediately unconditionally in love with the main character which reaches absurd levels to where YOU JUST KNOW the writer specifically went out of his way to deprive every single female with any sort of romantic ties to the main character of ANY potential romantic encounter with anyone else, with the only exception being, of course, a lesbian relationship, that you, of course, can enter as the third wheel and hey, girls kissing isn't cheating anyways!!!

This turns characters from real people you as a man are supposed to get to know and whose hearts you're supposed to conquer into mindless robots patiently waiting for the correct dialogue option to obediently chirp out some generic lovey-dovey dialogue and a boring sex scene.

    REPULSIVE MAIN GIRL MODELS

The worst parts about the visuals are the botched plastic surgery-like uncanny valley of Jill and the blown-up doll-ness of Sage, Bella and Josy with their deformed bodies clearly sculpted by someone with no 3d modelling experience and no eye for beauty.

AVN assets are usually taken from stores like the DAZ3D one, and they're mostly fine, featuring decently realistic looking bodies, which means that the models in question were INTENTIONALLY edited by the developer and are SUPPOSED to look like that. Shocking, to say the least.

This one is especially puzzling because the game also has practically flawless models, like Sarah's, sadly but not unexpectedly relegated to a one-note character with no personality past "I'M PROMISCUOUS"

    ALL IN ALL,

Being a Dik is a dull, joyless power fantasy. It's flavorless in the kink department but also entirely uninteresting as far as its romantic storylines go.

It's a product with the philosophy of someone who thinks that you don't have to be a man, don't have to conquer and prove yourself but rather should be unconditionally slobbered over by everyone except your rare enemies who are all stinky poopoo no one likes.

Look, I know this review seems harsh and a lot of these points could be applied to most AVNs on the site but this is also the NUMBER 1 most successful game here, and considering that I'm genuinely disappointed.

Truly a Gold Standard of modern VN.

Couldn't find an other more engaging VN. The writing is great with funny, touching and emotional moment, a lot of deep to each characters with a whole palette of emotions you get easily attached to. Including branching.

Renders and animations are simply well made, fluid and loop with various sexual acts (specially with the most recent episodes as quality keep increase). In addition the game feature an amazing and large soundtrack, excellent taste and perfectly timed for scenes.

The game include mini-games which I personally likes and fresh the pace with even season long ones.

Each updates been packed with quality content no other VN been able to pull-off with a same time frame and don't seems to stop improving. It's the only VN I could recommend to none-VN players and they all liked it.

Reviewed during the Interlude Season 3 update.

    Master5043

AAA game from the VN world for adults

Completed the game at least 10 times, opening all paths, all dialogues and renderings. Finally, after two years with Being а DIK, I am writing a review.
What can be said here? This is Mass Effect from the world of porn novels. After trying his hand at developing Acting Lessons, which became an incredible success (the game can also be called Development Lessons for the creator), drPinkСake decided to devote himself completely to the development of visual novels and realized that he needed more, cooler, higher. That's how Being DIK was born - a game about a teenager going to college.

Unlike the tearful tragedy and horror of Acting Lessons, here we get a fun teen comedy with elements of drama in the best traditions of American Pie.
The game is replete with youthful dirty humor - you are guaranteed to die of laughter during the passage many times. The comedy is diluted with dramatic moments and sharp plot twists, the game warms up the endings of the episodes "at the most interesting place", making you anxiously wait for the next dose. It's like watching your favorite show.

The script is incredibly cool, just riveting to the screen, I went through the game for days on end and started from the beginning, discovering new paths and secrets. The story is unrealistically addictive. Each character is alive, you really empathize with him, and even at first glance, negative characters have such charm that you sympathize with them. For example Quinn. It takes talent to write such a controversial anti-hero. The gameplay is not just a game with a picture that you flip through with a mouse click. The set includes various mini-games that do not let you get bored. Fights, drinking, mansion restoration , English lessons "collect words", math tests, and how not to mention gender studies (the author's ridicule of the modern agenda is a big plus, in AAA games from big companies this is a taboo), a cooking master class from Bella and much more ...

The in-game phone (hello GTA V) is the coolest theme in the game. A large glossary of all characters with all your interactions with them - get it. Music player. Additional mini-games (fucking puzzle, never mastered it, DPC, why?). An in-game twitter that makes the world more alive. Texting with other characters. A few episodes even feature a local version of Tinder. These are just some of the features of this device. Not a single creator has worked out such a cool damn phone in the game.

A very good combination of visual novel and sandbox mode - you are often allowed to wander around locations, chat with people, find secrets, items necessary for the game, unique renders ... It's all addictive, one activity is replaced by another and you do not get tired of the game. The gameplay is addictive. As for the role system. This is a complete non-linear RPG with a morale system. I mentioned the Mass Effect for a reason. The morale system is taken from this series (Paragon - Renegade). The reaction options in the dialogues add DIK or CHICK points to you and form the personality of the MC. The required number of points DIK or CHIСK open special dialogue options.

DIK is such a masculine alpha male, a womanizer, a bad guy who is not afraid of fights, smokes weed, party-goer, prankster. Such a typical Stifler and a funny dude. CHIСK is a calm, balanced, well-mannered guy. He always does the "right", will not do anything that breaks the rules, will not cheat on the exam and with the girls is always extremely correct. Such is the knight on a white horse.
By the eighth episode, the personality of the MC will be fully formed and this is important, the system was added for a reason. Every action has consequences in the future. Some girls like jerks, others like good guys. If a girl does not like your personality, she will refuse you. So in one playthrough you will not be able to fuck all the chicks.

Speaking of girls. There are a lot of them! Five majors and a host of minors, some of which will probably make it into the mains in Season 3. Well-developed personalities, different from each other. Hot and cute, young and old, good and wild.. Girls for every taste.

The graphics are just Crysis from the VN world. There are very few games with such a top level of detail in environments, characters, lighting and shadows, good textures and awesome 3D animations. Yeah, the sex scenes look cool.

Soundtrack. it's just perfect for every scene and creates "movie magic". The tracks have already been downloaded to my phone and are listened with pleasure.

All these ingredients put together a masterpiece, recognized by the players on the pedestal. The game is in the Top 250 on Steam with a rating of 97% for the first season and 96% for the second. And it was designed by one person! DPC is just Hideo Kojima in porn novels. Following the scheme of an exciting story + living world + characters + graphics + a good exercise for the right hand, he was able to create an almost perfect indie game. It is also pleasing that he did not add any perversions, following the example of incest, cuckolding, rape, ladders and other madness that many developers sin.

Flaws: Very minor. A note to mature women - they look like stereotypical MILFs with giant boobs and thighs. It doesn't please. The only mature realistic woman is Cathy. The rest are just milk machines (thanks Derek). I really like Bella as a character, but her breasts... well, that's too much. I would like more realism, it's too cartoonish. The second one I don't like. Madame Rose. DPC, dude! Enough MILFs! Moreover, she is useless, a waste of money, and as old as my grandmother. :LOL:A pointless waste of development time on rendering.

The final score of the game - 10/10

Best scenario : you play a guy in college and find yourself in a clusterfuck of other people's problems. But you also have good times and plan for your future.
Best dialogues : hands down. This is the only game where I actually stop to read the dialogues.
    (Some of the) Best models
    Best characters
Best VN ever made by a landslide. It's not a game, it's a Masterpiece.

This VN should genuinely be adapted to a movie. Like a "smoking, no smoking" type of movie.

This is the first time i actually enjoyed reading a VN. Every character has a story to tell and a different identity. I was always looking at this game as one of the most rated on the forum but the VN tag kept me away. So glad i decided to give it a try. If you like more of a gameplay type of game and VNs always bored you, this is an exception as there is both a sandbox and a variety of minigames to break the continous dialogs. Overall the best game i've played in this site, hands down.

One of the best games you could play the animations are excelent no NTR the all girls are sexy except the madame (of course) a very decent story plot and the best thing about the game that the creator is a workaholic that gives us an update frequently
