My opinion/theory, even if people think it's controversial, is that the MC's Mom was a Burgmeister and the sister of Rusty's Dad which will make the MC and Rusty cousins, and the grandparents are reaching out to him to apologise for everything that happened with his Mom and offer him an inheritance that will make him wealthier than Rusty. We'll then either decide if the MC accepts it or not, or he'll simply be given it and it will influence how characters like Rusty, Jill, Quinn, etc, perceive him, and at the end of the game we'll decide whether to keep or give it up.
Nice theory but then the speech at the end of the episode 5 was basically for nothing if the MC acepts the money

Not currently. You can't get the Jade scene in ep 4, but we've yet to see if she is now completely closed off or if the MC can salvage it and get another chance.
Jade will give you the cold shoulder when you bump into her in Ep 5 if you fully reject her advances. I doubt she will give you a chance again.

put your finger inside of her pussy or ass during the strip club visit. and she will snap at you, and tells you you are on thin ice with her. :ROFLMAO:
See? sometimes it's does beneficial to be a Nice guy , it may take longer but you will get your reward , in her case a free blowjob :D.
in Maya or Josy's case , an early hot sex with one of them.
not saying that you can't have Lily blowjob scene anyway, but isn't it better, when she offer you for free, instead of asking money. ?
and yeah with Camila you may get this to, but you do have to pay for her for the first time anyway so in her case not really matter, just like Riona. They are both professional prostitute after all :D.
The difference in sticking your finger in her ass and her pussy is that stick it in her ass and you will have to pay $$$$. Stick it in her pussy, you can still get the blowjob for free and she will still call you a sweety in the sauna.

Getting a huge heritage to pay for everything would completely negate all what he just said. So I don't believe that there is a huge heritage coming soon, but maybe in the long run (after college). (Besides : the cash limit in the game is $$$$$.)

We don't know if mc's mom (Lynette) had siblings. Her dad was likely a tycoon and when he dies, mc will be one of the heirs. I think that the letter informs mc in first place about the (smaller) heritage he gets from his mom, maybe including a personal letter she wrote before her death. Maybe we will also get a longer flashback telling the story of Lynette and Neil 20 years ago.

If mc inherits enough money, he could pay for Maya's tuition and make her independent from her father as well as Quinn, but I am not sure if Maya would accept this gift. She would probably then feel dependent from mc which could have a negative effect on their relationship.

It's all well and good saying that kind of thing when you don't have any money, but what happens when you do have it? That would be the point of the MC suddenly inheriting a lot of money. Not to negate what he says about hard work and not relying on others to pay your way for you, but to test the resolve of his own words.

Will he turn it down on principle, or will he accept it knowing that it can help others? Or will he not be able to choose and will simply be given it, and how will this affect people's perceptions of him if it's found out? Imagine it; the MC comes to be seen as the new "golden boy" of B&R which would piss off people like Tybalt and Tommy, could affect his relationship with the DIKs if they view him as a hypocrite, could also affect his relationship with Jill who likes the fact that he's not a typical trust fund kid, and could set Quinn's sights on him even more as a way for her to pay off her debts. And as for Maya, I think that it would be a positive for their relationship and that she'd feel grateful to him.

The MC would, of course, not want to be seen this way and not like the fact that he now has all this money and we could see him struggle with the weight of it and then, at the end, get rid of it because he never wanted it in the first place and feels he's better off without it. So, all in all, there's lot of scope and potential here for some interesting consequences and story developments should the MC suddenly find himself one of the wealthiest people on campus with a famous name behind him.

Got a question here:

How do you delete all the data from the game? I wanted to play BaDIK from the scratch and so far I've managed to delete all my saves but when I start a new game everything is still unlocked. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
I'm a Windows-user, if that's important.

To me, it really depends on how DPC wants to develop this one. I've said before that perhaps the reason why the Cathy content doesn't happen if you're on the M&J path is that her content will be used to fill-in for M&J content on the non-M&J path, i.e. wherever there would be a M&J scene on that path, the other path gets a Cathy scene instead.

It's possible that this could happen with Jade as well, that her scenes get consigned to the non-M&J path, but the MC hasn't had a chance talk to her about why he didn't show up for their rendezvous and trying to talk to her about it at the party wasn't exactly the best time. I could see her being very short and snappy with him during their next class and then afterwards he stays behind to give her a made-up yet believable reason why he didn't make it. She'll reluctantly agree to give him another chance and hopefully this won't be another either or choice.

On Windows Ren'Py stores saves in two places, the game\saves folder you deleted and %appdata%\RenPy\BeingaDIK-1535311494

You need to delete your saves and persistent file from both places.

  • Go to the Control Panel and open File Explorer Options
  • Click on the View tab and under "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files, folders and drives", then click Apply
  • Now go to your main user area (C: > Users > "Name")
  • Open the folder AppData > Roaming > RenPy and find the Being a DIK folder
  • Deleting that will remove the persistent file that contains all the data and you can start the game from scratch but also ensure you delete the persistent file from the main game saves folder too.

Sorry guys, I can't trigger the "tequila quest" in Rooster with Lily to send her a message: an exception error occurs.
So this doesn't allow me to ask Derek to distract the bartender and get the bottle of tequila.
I looked for some previous posts and I don't think I'm the only one with this problem. However, I couldn't find any solution.
If this is a bug, is there a patch to solve it ...?
Thanks if you have the solution.
Having the same issue with the tequila quest, which also seems to lock out the Maya/Josy champagne quest.
Has anyone figured out a fix for this by themselves yet or do I have to wait for DPC to upload a new version with bugfixes?
(Sorry if a solution has already been posted and I just happened to overlook it.)

I cant find the suit in the Mansion. Im looking for half an hour now. Please help me. Thanks :)
The hallway you're in the after the Riona scene, there's an arrow at the bottom to take you further back in that hallway and there's door to the left. Go in that room and the suit is the right side door of the wardrobe.

The Tequila quest doesn't lock out the M&J scene. Not being on the M&J path locks out the M&J scene.

To get the Tequila for Lily:
  • Respond to her on Rooster saying you'll get her Tequila
  • Speak to her on the stairs
  • Speak to Derek for his first bit of dialogue and then again to ask him to distract the bartender
  • The Tequila is on a shelf behind the bar and you can now grab it
  • Go back to Lily who says she needs a lemon wedge and salt
  • Go back to the bar and speak to the bartender and order a glass of water to get the lemon, you don't get any salt
  • Go upstairs and you'll find Lily outside the room where you got the suit

Sometimes I wonder if I'd grok the game better if I played all five episodes in the space of a week, rather than spread out over a year, heh.

For example, people have been recalling the MC's monologue in the library -- something about screaming and running away. I'd completely forgotten that. And I can't seem to find the right spot in my save for it. What did he say exactly?

Also, I don't recall the soldier/mannequin from the drunkenness scene, and I didn't even notice the shoe when I looked under the locked door in this episode! I don't suppose anyone took screenshots of either?

You should do what I do man. Each time a new update comes out, I play the entire game from the beginning. I play a full run in DIK, a full run in CHICK and a full run as Neutral as I can be in order to get every scene.

Did you read the part I quoted?
I'm getting an error page when opening Lily's Rooster, so I can't start the Tequila quest, which means all the other steps to get into the kitchen and grab the bottle of champagne don't happen.
