VN - Ren'Py - Being a DIK [v0.10.1] [DrPinkCake]

Its just awsame the moddels are really butifull and the sex scenes are more than satisfying wich i don't see that often. the only thing that i don't like is that you more or sless need to desiede to f the teacher or have a relationship witch maya and so. but its lovely and i am waiting for the 6th chapter earnd yourselfe a patreon for some months. (english is my second language and i succ at writing so sry if you got a stroke from reading it like gozille did)

Its really good game. Images are really good looking. Writing is interesting with nice plot twist here and there. Female characters all look unique and hot. I also like how the game is giving a choice of being a dik or a good guy.
Sure there are things that i hate in it. Im forced to go to gender studies. Its paintful and most of the time a just skip it. Teacher of that class is much less hotter because of it. Expect that i dont really have any big problem with the game.

Came for the "plot", stayed for the actual plot

First of all I have to say this is overall the best game on this site I´ve played so far. It literally has only one/two flaws which I will get to later on.

Pros: - The story is a masterpiece. It is well written, has a decent length ( I don`t know what additions are yet to come) and really catches you. You
don´t have much games on this platform where this is the case, where you actually jump on the feels train

- The characters are awesome. There are a lot of characters you can interact with, but the "main" ones all are objectively and subjectively great

- I know its pretty standard, but I like the college and fraternity setting

- the animations and renders are lets say a A-/B+. There are a few games on here who have better ones like Treasure of Nadia or City of Broken Dreamers but all in all they are great as well. Plus there really are a lot of scenes throughout the episodes

Cons: - there are a few scenes where I would´ve like a little more detail/more angles, but that´s a minority
- the main Con is (which on another point of view can also be considered as a pro compared to a standard visual novel) is the DIK/Chick-system (and money). Throughout the game you repeatedly have to make certain decisions. Depending on what you choose, you either get a "DIK" or a "Chick" score. You then will encounter choices or scenes you only get when you have a certain score of either one. If you don´t have it well then bad luck for you, can´t trigger the scene. And you can´t just replay from a save before, because it takes way to much time and choices to change your score in the other direction. Therefore I do recommend you to play with the cheat/walkthrough mod, this problem is nonexistent for you then.

To conclude this I want to say, I think I am talking for many of us here: give us more with Isabella!

A very very good game. Now I know what was the hype for. Every girl has her own characteristic / depth to it which is very hard to achieve. Love it and definitely would recommend to others.


Cons: Not really any. But if you can freeform to walk around a map and trigger each girl's event (Like Japanese Dating game / Persona5), It will feel less linear and you can replay it for the 2nd/3rd/4th for different girls.....

I'm Loving the story and freedom of choise wether going full dik, full chick or somewhere in between.
I can't wait to find out where this all takes me, and i love that the creator gives out regular updates and keeps us happy with every new update.

One of the absolutely best games in the genre. The story is good, the characters are interesting, the models are beautiful. The dialogue is believable and often funny. And I love that it is original. It's not the same boring tropes like most other games.

Its a good game .
Very rare to see a good story without incest . The fact that such a good game can exist in this genre is just mind-blowing and I hope this keeps up.
The music is fantastic and the humour is also very nice.
The graphics are amazing and never diminish.
The only downside for me is the fact that _________.
There is almost no reason to not give this a try.

This games offers an insane amount of details and animations, interecting story with different characters (who actualy have beliveable and unique personalities), realistic renders and good music. What else do you need?

The Mc's life in this game was a dream comes true. Not everyone will get such a Life. So playing

One of if not the best stories out there for a game of its kind. Has fantastic visuals and great connection with the characters. The animation is on point as well. You will laugh and cry as you go through, and even after all that you will nut into another dimension. The music throughout is also another bonus. It'll get stuck in your head.

Hard time making an opinion on this one.

Pros:
- graphics are great
- sex / erotic scenes are great
- all the girls feel unique
- many of the guys we interact with feel unique too
- plenty of effort to create a well developed "fraternities" system (Story wise)
- lots of original events

Cons (personal bias):
- Not fond of the frat environment and activities, I just want to live my own life
- some of the guys annoy me quite a bit
- DIK / CHICK bar: as far as I like the idea, too many of the choices felt like: act like a normal human (DIK) VS no self respect (CHICK) or be an horrible human VS be a decent human (CHICK).
- even tho you can feel like the story is branching, it still had this very linear feel to it.

It's the gold standard for western adult vns. Each update has plenty of content with amazing renders. The characters and story aren't flat and boring. Some of the vns on this website just make you look out for the sex scenes because the story and characters just aren't interesting at all. Being a DIK isn't in that crowd at all. It's a engaging experience. Support this dev. I expect another banger from him when this game is over.

Compared with Acting Lessons, this didn't do justice to the storyline so far. In many forums, I find Being A Dik as their most-liked game. But, I do feel that acting lessons are far better except the part of the animation and new features such as phone, messages, profiles, tasks and Swappr (Tinder) etc.,

The animations & 3DCG are the best so far. The constraint to have a limited free world experience is boring and makes it inferior in comparison with Milfy City. The storyline with Jil is sounding more cheesy and dreamlike. Josy, Sage, and Maya are not adding importance.

It is all about Jill mostly. I kind of makes me hate the character.
No depth in characterization. Derek is such an irritating piece of work in comparison to Liam from Acting Lessons by Dr. PinkCake.

We cannot judge too quick as we still don't know where this will be headed.

I don't know why I do this to myself. Playing helps me retreat elsewhere and makes me love and appreciate life all the more, but when the experience is over, I get deeply saddened because I dont want it to end, and it makes me yearn for such experiences, as well as companions in my waking reality.

It took me almost a year, and or several months just to gather up enough strength to move on from Acting Lessons. Like literally. As for Being a DIK. I was aware of it, but I've always sidelined it because after completing Acting Lessons, I was left with hurt feelings mostly because of how much I enjoyed it, and didnt want it to end. Thus why I refused to play Being a DIK, for I did not want those hurt feelings within me again.

However, another reason why I've always sidelined Being a DIK was because I had this belief that it wasnt going to be anywhere near as good as Acting lessons. Holy holy was I wrong. Being a DIK is still in development, yet I already feel so attached to characters, and when it got to the deciding with your heart advice, and with the choices I've made while progressing, and how the characters responded, basically I did what I would do in reality, and darn it because it hurt me then and it still does now. My heart was and is crying out, and I was on the edge of tears during certain moments, and I'm still hurting because I've just completed episode 5. During the journey, some moments had my heart racing because I was afraid of losing someone.

Lastly, I went in with my interest in certain characters because their looks were more of my preference, but eventually I started steering away from them, for I fell in love with others because of their personalities. As for the music, its great and certain tracks compliments certain scenes so well. *Spoiler alert* Such as the bathing scene with Jade. Twas beautiful, and it earned a special place in my heart. I had eyes on and preferred Cathy at first, but fell in love with Jade. Though I'll see if I steer away from Jade once and if Cathy's story develops. If I do, then Im an unfaithful companion I guess. Sadly, I dont think Jade nor Cathy will be characters you get to complete with. If that turns out to be the case then I am still torn between basically the major cast. Mainly Josy and Maya. Though I really am into Sage, but my gut feeling keeps telling me that she will never get over her significant other, and that perhaps she just cant be trusted. As for Jill and Isabella, I keep telling myself that I only see them as friends, but the further I progress, the more I find myself questioning, Wow, do I really just want to stay friends? Im falling for them. As for Quinn, well, shes not my type, but I saw some attractive qualities with her at times. As for the other characters, I dont wanna get into detail because I've written a book already, so this will do. Though I really am interested in the I guess, "side" characters as well.

So, to those that have yet to experience Being a DIK, dont wait any longer. Waiting will do you no good. Im just glad that I finally started it up after having it sidelined for so long, but now that I've completed whats available at the moment, I'm sad now...... I miss them all already. Label me a weeny and or soft, but hey, whatever.

PS- Thanks for the experience(s) and all that you do DrPinkCake. I have a speech impediment (stutter) though not a severe stutter, and an example of how my speech is, its basically like Bill's from IT chapter 2. Even so , its frustrating, and I dont have any friends at all. I work harder whenever I put myself out there, let alone socialize. and maintain relationships. Ultimately, my biggest curses are those that are self imposed. I'm in my mid twenties/nearly thirty, yet still have yet to be in an actual relationship with a women. So, my life is very lonely and quiet. I dropped out of college 2 years ago because I dont really know what I want out of college, and since then I basically am doing the simply "existing" jobs. Regarding your creation(s) they make me yearn all the more, and I guess experience what I dont have, and perhaps will never have. Love, companions, touching and personal moments with others rather than yourself/myself. However, I promise you that when I wake up from sleep, I will pledge on patron. Its nearly 4am, and as I stated, I've just completed episode 5 some minutes ago, and am stuck listening to the track "relax" on repeat. The track that played during the bathing scene with Jade, and as I stated, twas a beautiful scene, and has a special place in my heart. So, thanks again.

I don't remember why i decided to give this game a go, but I am sooooo glad I did. As of this review, the currennt game version is v0.5.2, with 5 episodes released, and to be honest, every single one of them are amazing.

Pros:
Amazing, relatable, diverse cast characters. Decision making system makes sense, girls are beautiful, renders are awesome, animations are detailed.

Cons:
I'm being dead serious when I say I can't really think of anything wrong with this game. The dev even has his own official walkthrough of the game posted with each episode released if you're the type of player who likes that!

After finishing this version, I immediately went over to patreon to pledge DrPinkCake. He truly loves the work he does, and my next task is to play the first game he made: Acting Lessons, which I've heard is one of the best AVN's out there.

Overall, this game is a must play for all AVN fans. This will def be in your top 5, most likely top 3.

Top notch game, was my first dive into this site, other than MCity and they are just beyond great. Very good quality Dr.PinkCake. Looking forward to season 2 whenever that is. Hopefully sometime this year, but with COVID who knows =(

We all came here for the porn, but there's something else about this game. When I started playing, I wanted to do a roleplay of some sort where my character had certain aspects to his personality, and I picked my choices around that. Turns out, your choices matter a lot and the experience can be extremely immersive. The girls have different personalities, and you can go for the ones you like most, but the thing that's amazing for me is that they're so fucking cool to interact with, making it impossible to not love them all! Derek, your best friend, makes you wish he was your friend in real life. Your dad is awesome, for me it literally made me want to have him as a parent in real life. Play this shit, it's fucking good.

Story - check, Variety - chek, Options - check, Choices and Dialogues - top! Sexyness - amazing

I really like the way minigames add to the game, rather rare occurrence from my experience. Also, this is probably the first game in 20 years that I'm actually READING through (ya usually I'm like, skip skip, niiice, skip skip)
