I'm more curious about the purpose of the friendship. At the most benign level, I wonder if a friendship with Jill will be useful in helping Josy and/or Maya with something that may happen later down the the line, but I also wonder if this may help with the eventual relationship decision. After all, Jill knows Josy was one of the other girls the MC was seeing and Josy knows the MC went on a date with Jill, so perhaps by them getting to know each other it might serve as a way for them to [reluctantly] accept if he chooses one of them over the other because they know the other well enough that they acknowledge and understand why they're choosing them.
Or maybe Josy will help bring out Jill's sapphic side since she was able to get Maya to embrace hers, and Josy's seductive prowess could probably turn any girl gay.

IMO Josey is a real bitch. sorry if i hurt anybodies feelings. but, just before she arrived at the campus i had a weird feeling she was dating someone (my instincts pointed to Chad) then she shows up and BAM!!!! she's with Maya. Double tap of the worse kind. this caused me to literally shed a few tears. (had to convince my wife that my eyes were burning from the endless loses in MS freecell).
