DPC deleted his original account in Aug 2018, after being constantly harassed about how episode 0.5 ended (long before AL ended).

Then created a new account in Nov 2018, after the heat about episode 0.6 had died down a bit and he'd started the switch to BaDIK. But the harassment followed him into BaDIK, extending as far as death threats:

So of course he racked off to other channels where he doesn't have to suffer that sort of bullshit & nukes the account of anyone that pisses him off. He last posted here Jun 2019.

Doesn't seem counter intuitive to me, I wouldn't put up with that either.

Not easily.

On Windows Ren'Py stores saves in two places, the game\saves folder and %appdata%\RenPy\BeingaDIK-1535311494

You need to remove your saves and persistent file from both places to get a fresh start.

No

One option would be to install the (all three), which should over-ride the official 0.8.2 patch so your patched game will work again.
Damn man... Ffs AL was just a game... You like it or not... Okay, I may understand to insult the dev... But life threats? Honestly I understand him now why he doesn't want to see anybody mentioning about
My mc is covered.

It isn't a porn game though it is an adult VN. I think you guys gets things messed up sometimes. You went to play that game expecting for porn, but got something else totally different. In adult novels, people die, people have sex. The difference is that this one (Virtual novels) you have graphics to back up the story. We have a lot of bad porn vns out there, that is only for porn, and others that are made for the story. That is why I like Summer's gone. It has 0 porn so far but it is very rewarding from the writing.
I know that AL wasn't easy to diggest, but that is fucking good VN. If it wasn't for that game I wouldn't give all credits I give to DPC now. I only played that game once, got it on steam, uninstalled after, never tried different gameplays, but yet, it was totally worth it, because that shit made me rethink about many things in my life.
The problem is that most of people, when they see "Adult VN" they automatically think about sex only without even care about the plot or the story. That is why most of games are of a boy who lives with his mother/stepmom/landllady or whatever and fucks her, his sisters and his friends. That shit is annoying as fuck. I don't want to fuck my family over and over again.
It is because of poeple who criticize DPC that all other novels are the same. Empty and with some sexual graphics that won't even make sense to the story. If I want that, I can just watch some porn on pornhub.
Or DeLuca Family...

General news
It's not Friday, but I wanted to post an update on what's been going on lately.

First off, I want to thank everyone for reporting bugs and typos.

I recently released the v0.8.2 patch, where I tried to fix as much as possible at once.

It's likely not the final version of Season 1 and Season 2, but hopefully, all big bugs and issues have been dealt with.

If you notice bugs that haven't been fixed, keep on reporting them, and I'll have a look at them.

Steam and GOG testing for Season 2 is going well, and I've been working on managing the GOG release as well as a patch update for Steam.

And now that all platforms have gotten the latest update with bug fixes, I can increase the focus on game development, alongside beta testing for the Season 2 release.

Episode Interlude
I have been writing and planning the interlude, I'm trying to box in the events I want in it, and it's going well. I'm very pleased with the writing so far, and I can't wait to continue.

My PCs have been rendering some longer animations lately, and I've also started posing static renders.

It's tough to estimate how long the interlude will be in gameplay. I aim for a 40-60 minutes duration for an average player.

Overall, it will feel interesting, fresh, and different than the previous episodes in several ways.

Patron milestone reward
Don't miss out on entering a submission for the Patron milestone reward .

On Friday, I will start selecting submissions and preparing polls to decide the winners. So, enter a submission now, if you haven't already.

To address some questions I've gotten regarding the submissions:

Yes, you can enter a submission with Acting Lessons characters, too.

Yes, you don't have to request lewd/NSFW submissions. I will consider wholesome/wallpapers/SFW content too.

I'm looking forward to creating the polls and this special series for you!

Cheers

At the beginning of the game, even before the "Hell Week", Sally is at the DIK´s dancing with Jamie, I think... Obviously, Magnar is not around. I think that´s the "problem in the paradise", and not the theories about being Sally pregnant. Magnar only wants to study and play Dungeons an Gremblins, and is not even invited to the parties, but Sally has a wild side and likes to party too... I think the problem is Sally is finding Magnar too boring.

She'll probably become less hostile to MC like Heather over the next episode or so :devilish:

40-60 minutes long, for those who said that the interlude would be like the prologues of each episode.
My first impression was April for the interlude, but seeing that it's going to be quite long but with no choices, no branch, just animations and renders, maybe February March is quite possible.
If I still believe that episode 9 will take at least the same time as episode 8, so we would have it for September/October...

I can't speak for others, but when I said I thought the Interlude will be like a prologue, I meant it in terms of structure and storytelling only, not in terms of size obviously. I still think it will be like the prologues, but bigger.

At this moment she´s not still hooked up to Tremolo. She´s starting to think that he maybe, only maybe, could be something more that a hothead 19 y. o. student that hits on everything with tits, but she´s not convinced at all. When she discovers that he has had sex with Cathy, in a moment in which Cathy is vulnerable, she just confirms that her first impression was right: Tremolo has some good merits, but at the end is a hothead student that only hits on her because she has big tits. So she leaves the "possible romantic interest mode" and adopts again the "teacher mode": she´s cerebral with him trying to teach him that fucking women around can be a dangerous thing for him. And Tremolo just accept the situation, because at that point, in fact, he´s hitting on her just because he´s a hothead 19 y.o. student that hits on everything with tits.

I think it´s a brilliant scene, actually.
Yeah, that scene was one of the weakest ones from her route, I've said it here before, it always irked me. Bella's reaction I can understand, although it's a little bit hard to believe she can be that composed when they're that far into their affair. But MC's reaction is also all over the place, I bet DPC hadn't initially planned the fallout from MC's fling with Cathy.
I personally took it as her reverting to full blown Ice Queen. She was coming out of her shell a little with the MC and this jolted her back to what she was at the start of the game. Cold, distant... pragmatic.

Obviously that is just my take. The game doesn't go out of its way to prove she's reverted (she's the same afterwards regardless of that betrayal) so it just as easily could be lazy writing but if we're being generous it could have been deliberate.
I don't think the scene is wrong, but it's still a surprise that Bella, who up to that moment in all her decisions, in all her behavior has been extremely passionate, going beyond common sense (staying over at the DIKs' for example) and the norms of behavior (screaming, insulting and looking bad at anyone who doesn't like her) in that scene shows incredible cold blood. Of course it's not a hot behavior, she had some time to think ( not too much assuming that she found her panties only after the night at MC's)

also in the scene of the breakup with MC in the 8th chapter we see all her pain, MC could also believe that all in all everything went smoothly

it's ok, I don't find it an extraordinary scene because it always comes to terms with what DPC wants to tell us at that moment, when she finds the panties it's not yet time to talk about Jill (so it's ok to invite Mc to have fun at home after having just left Jill who plays the puppet for Tybalt in an attempt to save MC), because that issue DPC was going to address later, then at dinner DPC wants them to just talk about the social issue of a teacher-student relationship and wants to put off the super giant elephant in the room, Bella's wedding! !!
narratively they are two choices that I don't approve of at all, that are completely outside of common sense, but that's it, and let's move on

Does the presence of Quinn with Sage, Isabella, Jill, M&J in the banner means something? Has she been promoted to "official Li", or something? Or that banner with 6 girls has been used before?
She did made a big step towards the MC and is very popular. If DPC is smart he will listen to his fanbase and make her a LI also.
Probably the main LI from the "others" section. Imho she allready should be. "HOT" chick with allready a good story behind her so would be a good choice.

I hope Quinn becomes official Li, I can't stand MJ duo so it would be nice to have another route that could potentially be pretty good looking at how Quinn character development is going.

Not sure the OP banner was necessarily updated every release initially. These are the OP banners I could find:

2021-04

2020-11

2020-08

2019-11

Not sure about before that, but the pre-release thread has:
2019-02

I've been thinking February for a while. He seems to be using his time wisely, or at least his machines wisely. at 40-60 minutes i'd say that is 15-20% the size of the last couple of episodes. He took some time off before beggining work on 8 and then also had the season 3 save system to develop, as well us upgrading the version of Ren'py the game used. I think we'll see episode developement time return to closer to 6 and 7 for the next 2 or 3.

So here's some sums for fun. Episode 8 took 30 weeks to develop (Week one the first Friday after 7 was released). 15% of the time for this would be 4.5 Weeks rounded up, 20% would be 6. That would be the 24th-31st December. We end up with the same time frame for 15-20% of content.

  • On average he produced 358/30=11.93 animations per week.
  • On Average he produced 4158/30=138.6 static renders per week
  • 15% of statics would be 623.7, 20% would be 831.6
  • 15% of anaimations would be 53.7, 20% would be 71.6

So that means to produce the statics it would take;
  • 15% - 623.7/138.6= 4.5 weeks
  • 20% - 831.6/138.6= 6 weeks

So that means to produce the animations it would take;
  • 15% - 53.7/11.93= 4.5 weeks
  • 20% - 71.6/11.93= 6 weeks
Yes, this doesn't take into account writing or coding, however, I think it would be reasonable to expect Interlude to arrive in January or early February. At a 40-60 minute production any longer wouldn't make sense. I'm going to go with February 4th. In turn i'm going to predict July 22nd-29th for Episode 9.

If DPC is avoiding mini games and free roam, we may see the Interlude drop within January since AL received monthly updates.

Yes, in terms of production it could be, but you have to remember that the game time in a normal episode is constituted by story, mini games and free roams, here you would have 60 minutes of game time only with story...
And this is a guess on my part, maybe DPC uses more words than renders, but to fill those 60 minutes, at least as we are used to, would be more than 800 renders.
As for episode 9, I only speculate that if there is a real branch, if there is, the size of the episode in itself would have to be gigantic, since the previous episodes had a lot of common path for all the characters, and again speculating too much, if DPC is going to split the path a lot, it should have a lot of content for each path, so you would fill the average play time of each episode.

According to my feelings, the prologue to episode 5 took about 10-15 minutes. But in fact, something else is interesting. What will he tell about the character for 40-60 minutes? We are not interested in it at all yet.
I would also put it at the beginning-middle of February. Development should go faster due to fewer animations, a more linear story and simple code. There will be no lewd scenes in the game, or there will be a minimum of them, and this should also affect the pace, since posing for lewd scenes takes the most time. It's too early to draw any conclusions and panic. We need to wait for a full status update next week.
