I like this game so much. I understand nothing can be perfect.

If I could only state one disappointment is that it is a Jill-centric plot path. I like all the characters and their place in the story. Certainly all the paths and LIs etc.

It would be better if:

1. You were not forced to date Jill unless you wanted that path.
2. You were not forced to visit Jill with your guitar and ask her for a date unless you want that path.
3. And, a few other things.

I agree.
I found it extremely annoying having to go to the prep mansion to ask her on a date and then to choose between liking her or wanting to annoy tybalt. what if I don't want any of those things?
on any other LI playthrough, I'd just be avoiding her after she put me on the spot in front of the school council if I had the option. I certainly wouldn't break into the mansion to play the guitar for her.
and as for tybalt... what do I get out of antagonizing him? he's a douche, sure, but what do you gain from messing with his private life just for shits and giggles? even fuckface, an oblivious idiot as he is, must be aware that tybalt's family is:
a) rich
b) most likely powerful
and considering you already had a falling out with one fraternity president, one would think you'd be better off laying low for some time. but no, fuck this shit, let me go fuck with magnar next :|

If you play the main LI paths (and Quinn) one at a time, no other LIs / sides you get.

1. Sage path: end up with Sage no problems.
2. M&J Path end up with M&J no problems.
3. Jill path end up with Jill, no problems.
4. Quinn, end up with Quinn (kinda, although it will probably be a long haul with drama) at least Jill can't fuck that up. (or can she?).
5. Bella path, end up with Bella, and Jill fucks up everything (as this will have a huge effect on Bella's emotions as it is her friend). This ........ Sux. And, makes the game a lot less fun.

I like Jill on the Jill path. I don't like her being a pain in the ass when I am on the Bella path. Tony Soprano would probably go to Jill's room, throw everything around, threaten her and say, "Now you know what? You are going to go see Bella and tell her everything is peachy or your friends will start finding themselves accident prone. You wouldn't want to see Bianca fall down some stairs by accident would you? WOULD YOU?!"

I don't think Jill, if not pursued, will be a problem for Bella.

Yes, Quinn was on the banner during the status update of episode 8.

I would like to add that the forecasts are always86 accurate! He predicted the exact release time of episode 8!

Apparently, he has already finished with the script and animations, and has started static renders. I'm afraid of getting burned, because when I read the update, my mood dropped, but on reflection, I decided it wasn't so bad.

I predict that everyone will predict a February Interlude, but it won't come until March or April. Likewise everyone will predict a summer release for Ep9, backed up with lot's of data but that won't release until November 2022. I further predict that the final episode Ep24 (after the 17th Interlude) won't be released until spring of 2034.

40-60 minutes of active gameplay is very little, if you think about it. This is about 2/3 of the first episode in terms of content if you remove free roams. In episode 8, free roam could take half an hour or more.

In addition, many people forget that he combined the last 2 weeks of work on the episode with testing the game for GOG and Steam. And at the same time managed to write a script and make animations. Now that the versions of the game for GOG and Steam are ready, he will be able to devote more time to development.

• Pretty much every killer of teenagers in the slasher-style movies (maybe it's what they do, not who they are...)
• Keyser Söze (well, not anymore though, 'cause, you know...)
• Hans Landa (he was fucking awesome)
• and so on.

Sometimes the villain is so enjoyable you want them to succeed in their dastardly plans. In this case, we don't necessarily want Quinn to succeed in her plans, we just don't want her to die, and want to fuck her regularly.

There is a difference between liking a well crafted villain and still recognizing they are a villain and need to go down, and wanting them to have a happy ending after ruining so many lives. Quinn destroyed Mona and people still root for her. Most fans of the joker aren't rooting for him to win. He's a great villain. My daughter is 5, she's a huge fan of heath ledger's joker, but she understands that while he's a funny psychopathic murderer, he's still a psychopathic murderer and he needs to lose. Something a ton of people on this site don't seem to get about quinn. Liking a villain for being a good villain(while still understanding they are a villain) is very different from what people do with quinn. She needs to lose. She belongs in jail.

I can't make comparision with other games to explain things I want when it comes to fans of BAD complaining about what DPC did in AL. DPC is a great writer, so just don't expect everything to go amazingly well in being a dik, he will probably put some twists to make you sad. And Jill warns every player about it when they first interact with the game. So, since I can't use examples, that is all I am gonna say. I can imagine her going to the pharmacy wearing mini-skirt and fuck-me pumps to buy Viagra for Tremolo when they are in their 70s. I can imagine Josy being happy with Tremolo and their 4 children and 3 dogs in their suburban house. I can imagine Jill being happy with Tremolo in her mansion with horses, singing birds and pink unicorns. I can imagine Bella being happy with Tremolo, at least for some years, until age starts making a real dent in her while Tremolo is still young, and I can see her convincing him to leave and find a woman of his age to have children and a family. But I can´t imagine a happy ending, 10 or 15 years from now, with Quinn or Maya.

But, the day Quinn will get bored of a normal life with Tremolo, is not going to make Tremolo miserable. She will just go and move on with her life, leaving Tremolo free to do the same. Maya however, as good feminist, will always blame others for her problems, and therefore, will expect that others fix them for her. Her father, the HOTs, the society, Tremolo... It doesn´t matter. It´s imposible to make happy a person like that.

But don´t fool yourself thinking that Maya is naïve. She knows by instinct how to play her "victim cards" (I love that expression of Quinn) and manipulate others to help her. She has made Josy unhappy in a relationship that brings her more problems that happiness, even when Josy clearly finds someone more suitable for her and that could make her happier. She demanded from Tremolo total sincerity but was not sincere with him, used Tremolo for entering in the HOTs without caring about his feelings, and continues dragging him into her problems even if he´s dating other girls. Now she has dragged Sage into her problems too, and Sage will feel guilty when she´s no able to help her... She knows exactly what she´s doing. She will look at Tremolo with her puppy dog eyes, will cry a little, and will manipulate him to do whatever she wants he does for her. Its impossible that a relationship with a person like that, selfish and convinced that she´s not responsible of fixing her own problems, finishes in something different of a bad divorce.

For the over-reaction of Tremolo at the end of Episode 8, what all Tremolo knows that could make it rigth or ok to have an over-reaction?
-He is in a bad relationship with Tybalt, but it shouldn't really matter.
-Jade at least tried to seduce you, and even if she failed, she didn't like it and at the same time Tremolo know that the relationship is not good beetween Jade and Stephen.
-He know about the prostitution ring, that Mona was in it thanks to Camilla ( not sure that all version of Tremolo know), and that she was in the same piece as Stephen.
-He did make the point beetween the prostitution ring and the free tuition in Episode 2.
-He should know that he hasn't seen Mona since Episode 7.

Tremolo should be able to make a guess beetween everythings he know and it could be interesting that he use it to finish the problem of Maya (even if it will surely not happen because for all the problems that it will have for him). A choice that could be interesting is that you don't reveal what Tremolo could have guessed and use it to blackmail Stephen to help Maya or for the Jade video.

It will be interesting for sure. On the Bella only path. Even Bella told naive Jill to date MC. For naive Jill, that is all she can think about...hey she has Bella's gold seal of approval. She is safe. She probably was unable to see a situation where Bella and MC could be together making the beast with two backs when again, Bella told her to date him....Jill felt confident that was the way to go...etc.
For naive Jill it is a huge shock as.... Bella is her "best friend" and she has feelings enough for MC to even put up with Taibalts BS in an effort to help MC.

I guess it is possible to repair that kind of damage of Jill and Bella's friendship but I don't know how. (I don't have all the answers...so...I don't know how). MC and Bella being together with a damaged Bella/Jill friendship will be interesting. Again, Jill is very naive and everyone has to stop what they are doing to wipe her nose and dry her tears. It is going to really suck.

I still think the Jill as an active shooter on campus scenario is a possibility.

I know what you mean. But your ideas have a bit of a catch in two ways. Even with Sage, Jill, Josy and Isabella, it won't rain pink and red candy every day. There will always be problems. Just like in real life.

With Quinn and Maya, things can be very different. Yes, they both have problems.

Quinn is making progress on an interpersonal level. That's clear to see. But the worst thing that could happen to Quinn has happened. Lily. Without Lily, Quinn would have been forced out of business sooner or later, which could have led to a positive development. But Lily revived Quinn's her business. As a result, the fuse was lit by two bombs. One bomb is named Vinny and the other Tommy. The Vinny bomb remains in place. Lily has switched her first supplier, Vinny, in favor of Quinn. Let's get this out there. Boooom. On the Tommy bomb, I still see clues that it could be defused. Either Tommy starts dealing for Vinny, or Tommy continues to be just a consumer and Vinny his supplier. Rusty once said to the MC that Tommy will not change for anyone. I think Rusty was wrong. There are two clues that lead me to this conclusion. A text message response from Tommy to the MC. It is about whether the MC can represent Tommy at the Pink Rose. My MC agrees because Tommy said: PLEASE. I had to laugh at Tommy's reply. "Fuck you. Thanks anyway." Delightful. But Tommy starts saying PLEASE and THANK YOU. The second clue is Heather. My MC replies to Heather that if she were his girlfriend, he would get her the jacket. Tommy finally gets up and gets Heather, albeit grumpily, his jacket. The change in Tommy has begun.

Now let's move on to Maya. What is Maya's fault, anyway? The only thing that really comes to mind is her initial naiveté. Maya's problems are not her own fault. She wanted to solve the problem with her father herself by joining the HOTs, which later turned out to be naive. But that's exactly why I don't like Quinn, or rather, I don't like people who take advantage of other people's naivety. That kind of thing makes me jump into a triangle. Triangle=DIK. Also, Maya is not playing the victim card as Quinn calls it. Maya is a victim of her father. He's withholding the money and wants Maya to end her relationship with Josy. He suddenly stands in Maya's room to control her. It doesn't matter if he has the room key or from whom he got it.
So that an 18-19 year old Maya is overwhelmed is actually no wonder. But Maya develops and starts to fight back. Does she need help? Yes. I mean, read through the conversation between Sage and Maya again. In EP9, Maya finally starts to shed her naivety. She's still on shaky ground, as they say. But you have friends who support you. Example EP9 dorm party. Maya learns from Becky that tuition is a HOT code and starts thinking about it. In my case, her Boyfriend the MC is there and catches her before she crashes again.

One last paragraph about the throuple. I've got you figured out, DPC!

EP7 Josy says to MC "you and me, both."
EP7 says MC to Maya "You and me ,both."
EP8 "You and me ,both." between Josy and Maya.
EP8 Maya's hand is already taken. The MC to Maya, this must be a happy princess and Maya replies, a princess and a prince. Well, little kids and drunks always tell the truth.

I can agree with most of what you said but not this one.
She is playing victim card a lot, she is always searching someone to help her because her life is so hard and all but she herself is doing nothing to change that.
She always makes people around her to feel bad for her situation and eventually help her in anything she needs just like she did with Josy, Derek, fuckface, Sage.
All she has to do is face her father, he may not like that his daughter is lesbian but he would never end her education because of that, like this is so obvious.
My problem with her is that she doesn't take responsibility for herself.
She fucks something up then goes to her tower and waits for her knight in shining armor to slay the dragon and save her.

Thanks, your post gave me an idea why the MC needs to ask Jill out. Jill is a door opener.

Reasons for Jill's date:

1. The player wants Jill as LI either way. Career as a musician and rich in-laws.
2. If the MC is doing it just to spite Tybalt, the MC is hitting on the tennis teaching career. Jill found out at the first tennis match that the MC is not a beginner.
3. The MC is really interested in Jill, but she doesn't become a LI. Then a career as a musician could be waiting for him because he builds a good and stable friendship with Jill.

Many forget what the MC can say to Sage in EP1. No friends yet. I think that this is actually very important. Only with true and real friends, the MC will never be alone.

I don't think it's as simple as you suggest and the interpretation you're arguing for only makes sense in the context of a black and white moral view of the game. On such a view, you're right that Quinn would be a villain and we could expect her to get her comeuppance somewhere down the line. But the world of BaDIK is more complex than that: we've seen glimpses of Quinn's past and hints about her motivation; there are still gaps to fill in but I think we can already infer that she isn't just doing "bad" things for the sake of it and the character isn't just a cut-out villain. There is more going on, and that's what some players are latching onto. This is reflected in other areas of the game, too: the choices that the MC is faced with are often morally grey and there isn't a clearcut right and wrong - look at the choice to tell Sage about Chad, for example.

The other dimension to this is that DPC has deliberately developed Quinn as a romantic interest for an MC that follows her path. This is now beyond dispute. Where it goes from here is still open to speculation, but it's got to the point where for some players Quinn isn't just a sympathetic character, but a viable love interest as well, which adds to the interest in her. I also don't think there's anything particularly unusual about this kind of interest: the archetype of a seemingly cold hearted bad girl who warms up when the right guy comes along is a staple of literature and drama so it's no surprise it's popular among some players of this game too.

Finally I think you're wrong that people don't sometimes root for the villain to get away with it. They do. And it's a harmless attitude to take when there are no real life stakes involved.

already when there are the premises that something important can happen in reality almost nothing happens, let alone when it is specified that "it went better" than it could have gone as in this case

if you are not in Jill's path you have nothing to fear for Bella, and it can't be otherwise

there will be a scene of clarification with Bella and at the end Jill will bless her friend's newfound happiness, why should she be angry with Bella? after avoiding MC in the last 3 chapters (no picnic, no surprise visit to the PREPs, no invitation with her friends...) there is no point in any "serious" drama

at the most, it could happen that Jill would point out to Bella how it is not acceptable for a married woman to date someone else (if James is still alive), but this is a necessary step in Bella's path, if Jill points it out to her, it will change very little

we still don't know how Maya and Josy will take it (when Mc decides to eat with Sage they show some jealousy) but I don't think there is anything to worry about in this case either
