Fortunately, ep. 8 got better later on, but not enough to make it more enjoyable than the general vibe of season 1.
I really hope DPC doesn't go back to his AL ways.

however, I have a doubt that might strongly challenge this impression.

how much does the fact that we played the entire first season together weigh in our judgment while we had to wait for the second from chapter to chapter?

I would put my hand on it that the first season is much more cohesive and compact than the second (what happens in the second season? other than Quinn and Jill and Bella's first time at the last moment, I can think of little...), but I'm not sure if this impression is strongly influenced by having had the chance to play the first season all in one go, enjoying the twists and turns instead of waiting for them bored...

7 is my personal favorite episode out of all the seasons, with 4 or 5 coming in at a close second. I also think people limiting their routes will severely shrink some episodes. I found despite the fact that I hate Quinn with a passion, when I played through her route out of curiosity that 8th's episode size swelled substantially.

Both of you make fair points. IMO, in terms of overall quality - writing, storytelling, twists and etc. at this point Season 1 was better. Season 2 had the potential to be better, but for some reason DPC chose of not playing his cards to reveal some things, which hurt the storytelling part of it.

But in terms of render quality and scenes - Season 2 is the better one.

Yes, it certainly helps being able to binge play as opposed to getting it piecemeal. But now that I've had a full taste of season 2, I still can't say I love it more than season 1 despite what the majority of reviews (here or on steam) say.

It can't be ignored that people who play porn games often rate high when they enjoy just the renders and lewds while brushing off gameplay and story. And conversely you'll always have those chaps who loudly proclaim to the heavens and all who will listen that they play AVNs just the story not the lewds. :LUL:

In season 2 you get to nut inside both Bella and Jill and that is something simps have been waiting on since day 1. Of course they are going :PogChamp:over it. I've seen some real stinkers on F95, but they still get five star ratings just because of the renders. Certainly BaDIK is not a stinker, but to me season 2 dropped a peg (heh). Here's hoping that season 3 is the best yet.

Dangerous Liaisons was adapted from the French book(and later a play, of very similar title) Les Liaisons Dangereuses, published in 1782. The American film adaptation was actually done twice. DL in 1988 and Valmont in 1989. I would definitely recommend those over Cruel Intentions, despite the Gellar/Blair scene.

And without wanting to poo on DPC, they were overall better in terms of plot - but I wouldn't trade one for the other.

I sometimes forget you guys exist. I started well before season 1 was complete, so it's a constant process of gradual entertainment and painful wait. I don't feel that season 1 was especially better than 2. Season 1 was the intitial setup stage, where you get introduced to the major players, and find out the MC is pansy snowflake.
