Together? :giggle: Awww, me and my waifu buddy Felice playing AVN porn together. Sounds rather heartwarming when you think about it. I'll have my lo mein noodles...you'll have your spaghetti alla carbonara and we will play season 2 deep into the night, exploring our deepest feelings and trying to find out the intricacies of DPC's profound words...together...always and forever.

Bianca's mom isn't Madame though. And from the Lynette flashback, she's fine as hell so she also can get it. :Kappa:
Until I see them both in the same room as two individual people I ain't buying it. It would be perfectly in the DPC wheelhouse for them to be the same person. It's been 20ish years, give or take. Madame looks perfectly well like Bianca's mother. She's aged up and quit bleaching/highlighting her hair.

Why would you want such an entertaining, and all-around great AVN to end? Other than to say that 'you were right' and 'you told us so' that the game will end at Episode 10 (Again, it wouldn't, so you can once again just relax and maybe take a break from this thread), there is no reason for BADIK to end now or in the nearest future. With all the characters, existing and new, this has a lot of stories to tell and events to show. I will gladly enjoy those as will most if not all in this thread who enjoy this game (y)
Sorry to disappoint you once again Arigon ;)
a few things come to mind:

1. All good things must come to an end
2. You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain

and this sums things up quite nicely:

there isnt anything wrong with good story/game ending. personally i would rather it end in the near-ish future with a real narrative arc and consequences for actions taken and having a conclusion that ultimately validates the story being told in the first place. otherwise we might very well be stuck with getting one episode every 6-8 months where every narrative step forward is two steps back, the characters never grow or change, and the game amounts to just jerk off material (when it can and should be more, especially when compared to its competition in this genre).

this game gets compared to American Pie as one of its obvious sources of inspiration, and even if that movie isnt "good" it actually is a coming of age story with the main guys all go through various trials and tribulations and learn about life and themselves and what ultimately is most important to them. that movie was raunchy and funny and filled with sex just like this game, but can you imagine if that movie was extended as a mini-series that rivaled the size/scope of Band of Brothers? this will likely end up as a rather simple story at its core (unless DPC has some ridiculous twist like a arsonist stalker serial killer or whatever). i would very easily argue that unless it is absolutely bloated with superfluous drama and literal filler content then it shouldnt be overly long or we start losing sight of why this story was being told in the first place.

once again, just my two cents. its alright if you dont agree and want this game to go on for eternity. but i would suggest seeing if you felt that way if you were actually donating to DPC monthly instead of only playing it for free. as somebody who since AL was giving him $5 a month and later upped it to $40 a month before i was dismissed by him, im unsure of how many of the people here would be willing to do that themselves for a product that had no end in sight. and i say this because if you are one of the people who wants this game to go on forever, then you need to make it worth DPCs while to keep it going. the amount of money he makes on patreon definitely factors in to this game's development time and its future in some capacity.

What I find funny about this genre is that the same people that constantly complain that choices and paths are mostly cosmetic are the same ones that cry when they get a proper split path and realize they now have less content. Bro, what did you expect? 5 Different games in one, developed in the same amount of time? This is not a AAA studio.

What I would like is for DPC to complete his original vision of what this game should be, whether that is one more Episode or 12. I am confident that he actually does have a plan for how this game will progress, allowing for modifications and new ideas along the way.

I support DPC at the $5 level, and will continue to do so until the game is completed OR I no longer enjoy the game. I don't foresee either of those options occurring in this year or next. Of course, it is always possible that I might piss him off and he dumps me. If I am still around at the completion of this game, I will make a further decision as to whether to follow his new game, provided that he starts one.

Since my financial situation is limited (especially in comparison to DPC), I am content to leave my Patronage level just where it is. It's enough for ME to feel like I'm actually supporting him, but not enough to land me in penury. So I'll just keep on doing what I'm doing for as long as I see fit to do so.

That's Concierge Ilhares to you, planet-bound peasant. ;) They just released my Scorpius. pew-pew!

where can i find my save file? i want to transfer it to a usb stick.....any help would be appreciated thanks.
Wherever you have the game installed (on PC, at least, I don't know if the same for Mac or others). Game/Saves folder inside has all your saves and the persistent file, which keeps track of your scene and render unlocks.

The last thing we need is even more recurring characters. That said, probably.

I am still amazed that DPC has so many characters. What an absolutely staggering number. Each one requiring a unique personality, unique back story, and unique attire. As incredible as it is, I think it can also bog things down, especially in the storyboarding phase. I'm not saying I hate it because it does make the B&R setting seem more alive, but wow, what a lot of work to voluntarily place on your own shoulders.
I agree. I'm very glad the game has a large cast because as you say, it really sells the college feel. But it does seem like we're pushing up against the point of diminishing returns, where each new character's addition amounts to less than the time lost developing the prior cast. We already know DPC is adding Zoey and the vixens for season 3, and it appears that like Nora, Bianca and Vinny will have more screen time moving forward (though Vinny is probably necessary). In exchange we've lost Mona and Cathy... maybe. That's a lot of balls to keep in the air.

Speaking of adding more work for yourself..DPC is the one who has the dislike for harems and is hellbent on making you choose a "wife" as a first term teenager at university, which is utter udder (heh) lunacy. If that is the case, then he understands that not everyone will keep up with every LI's route after we "propose" to chosen waifu (I still haven't finished all main LIs through ep. 8). DPC is the one who created this straightjacket, so he has to compensate for it by giving each main LI more individual content, and hence we have guaranteed longer episodes and dev times. May be a good or bad thing, depending on your perspective.
Personally, I think the branching was the lesser of two evils. DPC can't just keep the MC in a permanent state of limbo banging all the girls and never getting to the point of commitment with any of them. IMHO, Season 2 was already suffering from having to stall the Maya/Josy, Sage and Jill paths. He needed to shake things up somehow, and much as it might be popular I believe a harem would have scuttled the storyline completely.

So unless DPC decided to take a page from Arigon's book and wrap things up in ~10 episodes, branching was the best option available. He didn't do a great job setting up the crossroads, but the real test will be how he handles the branches. They need to feel like genuine developments in the relationship or else it will have all the problems of stalling but with far fewer tits to distract us. To his credit, DPC talks a lot about the branching so I *think* he understands that. But the fact he's adamant about including as much additional content as possible makes me worry about how realistically he's planned this out.

With such an imposing cast, I wonder: are new characters a way to easily renew the players' attention? A new female face makes us curious about who she is, and of course if we will sleep with her.

It creates an appeal for anyone who is tired of love interests, or who has already "experienced" other side girls. A furtive glimpse of a brunette in a dorm room during the last party was enough for the fantasies to be unleashed, even though her name was unknown. This assumption lowers these new characters to collectors' items that are arguably of little value to the main story given when and how they are introduced.

But isn't this lust call an ingredient for a successful porn game?

Beyond the fans who ask for more backstory, or those pleased by sentimental relationships, there are also many who expect more sexual partners for the main character to the point of making Casanova look like a prude one.
Perhaps I'm oversimplifying things, but it seems to me that players who are only in it for the chance to bed new girls are also players who would be just as happy if this game ended and DPC started a new one with other girls (or indeed, if they played one of the many other AVNs out there). Nothing wrong with that playstyle obviously, but it doesn't lead to a steady, long term playerbase for DPC because those players don't have any long term interest in the game.

If DPC wants this game to become a 4+ season epic, he need to cater at least somewhat to players that do have some specific long term interest in that epic. While he can definitely add new characters from time to time to shake things up, each one is ultimately one more orifice to stuff. At a certain point the difference between a new girl and a girl you haven't seen in so long she feels new is probably academic.

It's not clear to me what the optimal churn rate for that sort of revolving cast is. Personally, I think trimming BaDIK's story down to 3 seasons would have been the best move, but I'm pretty sure that would be a non-starter for DPC. So we'll just have to wait how he addresses the problem in Season 3.

I completely agree with you

however, I have a doubt that might strongly challenge this impression.

how much does the fact that we played the entire first season together weigh in our judgment while we had to wait for the second from chapter to chapter?

I would put my hand on it that the first season is much more cohesive and compact than the second (what happens in the second season? other than Quinn and Jill and Bella's first time at the last moment, I can think of little...), but I'm not sure if this impression is strongly influenced by having had the chance to play the first season all in one go, enjoying the twists and turns instead of waiting for them bored...
It's a fair question, and I only started a bit before Episode 5 so it's hard to say for sure. But I'm inclined to think Season 2 was just weaker, at least from a narrative point of view.

As I said above, most of the LIs paths felt like they were blatantly stalling to set up the crossroads (though Jill's could have worked if the blackmail subplot wasn't so ham-fisted). Likewise we've all complained about how few of the ongoing mysteries have been advanced (much less resolved), whereas back in Season 1 those subplots did frequently develop over time - Josy's arrival being the most famous example. In contrast, the biggest developments of Season 2, Zoey's dramatic return, was only dropped in the last seconds and her backstory was pushed off to start Season 3. (Oh, and the second biggest development, the crossroad, was only a few scenes before Zoey's return.)

To me, it seems fair to say Season 2 had less forward movement than Season 1. The quality of the scenes we could watch while treading water definitely improved, but we were ultimately treading water most of the time. This is consistent with my sense that Episode 7 was by far the best episode of the second season. It finally resolved the HOT Scavenger Hunt plotline, added a non-fuckbuddy route for Sage, and even appeared to make the first big steps on transitioning Maya out of perpetual damsel mode (not that it lasted).

That's my take anyway. It's one more reason I really want to see where DPC is going with the story because I'll feel a lot better about Season 3 if it starts off advancing/resolving plotlines rather than continuing to tiptoe around them in favor of a big Halloween fuckfest. The Interlude noped out of that responsibility hard, so now it's all up to Episode 9.

We already know DPC is adding Zoey and the vixens for season 3
Do you think it's possible that the 'vixens' will have any role in plot development, other than more females to fuck during the Halloween party? I don't see it myself, but otherwise why focus so much on them? I mean isn't that the title of the next release? What other relevance could they possibly have?

I don't expect you or anyone else to know, but since the possibility just occurred to me, I am now anxious to see if there is anything there.
