I think the main drama will be related to the return of James, which will make Bella explode. I'm sure he'll come back. Perhaps even a slight NTR awaits us when James returns in the form of an awkward and embarrassing kiss.

If MC fucked Bella in front of Jill, I believe Bella will not have moral support and this will further aggravate the situation.
I imagine Bella and MC having dinner together, the doorbell rings. Bella opens the door and looks in horror at the man at the door. A curtain. This is in the spirit of Pink. Once again, MC wILL go to Derek's (or Sage's) place for the night.
Perhaps James is not alive or dead, but in a coma. The room is simply a small home hospital, where James is kept alive, but in a vegetative state. Even if it doesn't make much sense, it could explain why she is (possibly) mentally disturbed , why she feels she will "come back" and it would also explain why the MC says she wants to ask for help.

A lot of people have forgotten about that little line from Bella. It's easy to be lulled into a false sense of security with her, now that full sex has happened and girlfriend status achieved. I wonder how long DPc will allow the good feelings to last before he pulls the rug out from underneath? Could be soon with Jill conflict or the return of James. Or perhaps he waits...and lets things simmer for a while and then crushes hearts.
She could make a nice axe murder story and change this whole story into a gore feast!

Hey, anyone know how to reset gallery, I delete all saves from game and from renpy folder in appdata, but I can still see scenes, anyone can help pls
You also have to delete the persistent file in your Renpy folder of the userprofile - %USERPROFILE%\Appdata\\Roaming\RenPy\BeingaDIK-xxxxxxxxxx

My options are Quinn endings.

1) Positive. Quinn becomes a witness in a case against drug trafficking and prostitution.

2) Neutral. She runs from the campus from the police and spends her whole life on the run.

3) Bad. Quinn breaks down, becomes a psychopath and beats up Riona. She is exposed, put in prison, where no one visits her.
What about Quinn falls in love with MC, MC breaks her heart?

Bella taking off her ring and then putting it back on isn't as superfluous as some people are implying, she obviously hasn't been able to fully let go or else she wouldn't wear it on a Sunday just after she had a wild night with MC; but stopping wearing it at all would be asking for trouble.
She already knows she fucked up by letting herself get caught in the walk of shame (although for now the DIKs still think it was just a one night stand), anyone who frequents the library and has a pair of eyes will be able to see how friendly she got with MC although she only met him a couple of months ago and previously she barely spoke with anyone other than the staff and Jill, her not using the ring at school anymore would be like a "let everyone know what's up" any% speedrun.
Also, unlike Jill she's not naive, she's most likely well aware that Burke is trying to flirt with her, so she's probably also trying to avoid troubles on that end...

You can shorten that a good deal if typing it into a window path. No need to bother with the user profile. Just go with %appdata%\RenPy\BeingaDIK-xxxxxxxx.

Tybalt has shown no likeable value across all facets of the story.

You are very wrong. You're forgetting he has a better ass than the MC, Derek, and even several of the HOTs.

Tybalt's best attribute.png

There were only 16 scenes in episode 8

You're way off on that number. It's at least triple that. I count more that 50.

It does raise an interesting question for me, though. I have seen many comparisons of DPC's output of renders, animations, and overall gameplay time compared to other games/AVNs. But not having played a lot of others in this genre, maybe someone else here that's more versed than I am can answer this:

How does the scene count in the average BaDIK update compare to the updates by other developers?

I hope OFT is editing as we speak.

Sorry, my man. I don't work weekends, and hence, I generally don't visit this site on those days. If I think of something that will fit into my schedule and horrify both the Madame lovers and haters simultaneously, I'll tag you in it so you can share the culpability.

Has there been any other 4th wall breaking moment like that, excluding the episode ending monologue montages, since I don't consider those being anything similar? Do you think DPC jumped the gun and its not backpaddling and it will probably never get mentioned again?

I'm thorn between wanting a great twist and wanting my happy ending, so I guess I'll be ok with whichever direction.
I don't know about fourth wall breaking, but we are occasionally let inside Bella's mind such as with her breakdown in bed with MC at the DIK house. I think it was an unintentional mistake for DPC to include the future MC monologue about Bella's mental state. I wish he would have just left us to come to our own conclusions. I think he realised too late that he introduced a jarring break in narration. Future MC appears at the beginning of game and with that Bella scene and then promptly fucks off.
We get similar 'omniscient MC' narration at the end of Episode 3 (the bit about doors), and it returns in Episode 8 (both in the montage narration about how people come and go, and his quip about not asking the right question right before he panics over who Sage's parents are). It seems like DPC uses it whenever he wants to foreshadow something dramatic and doesn't sweat its absence the rest of the time.

When it comes to fourth wall breaks, where the MC is addressing the audience as a narrator (not to be confused with the inner monologues of the MC and other characters), I can think of only two others in addition to the Bella library scene that do not occur either as either an episode intro or wrap-up. They are:
  • The narration during the time skip in Episode 7 after Hell Week
  • The MC's explanation of his decision to choose Jill after she stands up to Tybalt at the restaurant

I know ename144 has the data for Leap of Fate at least, but I've also seen him in the Chasing Sunsets and Intertwined threads as well, so bug him about it :Kappa: , but I don't know if I could compare any of them in scope with Being a Dik.

DPC is in a league of his own in terms of content, even if you might not like all of it.

Undoubtedly this is the best game overall, but IMO both Leap of Faith and Chasing Sunsets have this one beat in terms of storytelling (I'd even put Chasing Sunsets on par with Being a DIK based on render quality).

.
and we back to square one again  . blurring the lines, the layers, and considering everything as in the same context.

Jill having a sushi dinner with her friend no matter what, but only relevant if MC is part of , that's when we see it. Even if her friend later showed up at her concert. But we did not see that dinner did we ? only on Jill path.
This the context where the personal life of different love interest belong.
idk maybe we are both getting confused, but why did you use this as an example? the dinner with Jill's friends was overall unimportant filler for being on the Jill path, nothing affecting the overall narrative happens here. this is the reward you get for pursuing Jill, all the mundanity of being in a relationship with a girl that isnt the sweaty sexy time.

But whether you want to accept it or not, Sage and Chad's relationship is a driving force of the story. Us getting wrapped up into spying on Chad for Sage in order to prove he is cheating and all the Alphas conflict that follows, especially Chad thinking MC is responsible for the blackmail photos against him being the driving force of Chad's fall from grace and potential redemption arc with MC. but the question arises: why is Sage so convinced Chad is cheating on her RIGHT NOW when he is literally never intimate with her, never affectionate with her, never a BOYFRIEND to her?? it comes off as dumb or lazy or both. having scenes where we could see them at a party incidentally and see how little chemistry they have or how frustrated Sage is with the lack of physicality, how awkward their kiss would be, etc. their (troubled) relationship is integral the the early arcs of the narrative, yet we never even see them together enough to believe they are even friends let alone going steady. i think we literally only get one or two scenes with them alone together and its when Sage is already pissed that their relationship sucks, and if she didnt express that EXPLICITY idk if we would even know she wasnt single.

and id also say that your argument of having "the personal life of different love interest" being separate would be more appropriate if you could actually ditch the people you arent interested in. But all these girls are stuck to MC like flies to fly paper and DPC decided for us that MC should stay best friends with them all, while simultaneously deciding that they always are only interested in MC anyways. so since we cant actually avoid these people we want nothing more to do with for the sake of the "overall story", then i think we should see more about all these characters and flesh them out more since we cant avoid them and all their personal drama anyways. and that means seeing potential moments of non-MC intimacy if it means DPC can show us character development in those kinds of moments. Just my two cents

I don't understand these conversations about NTR at all. Pink gives us enough hints and information that girls fuck on the side and are not nuns. Moreover, we have several renders of Johnny Boy and Elena fucking, and Jacob touching a white bitch's ass. Basically, all this is served through dialogues, and not through an image of the process - this is the best option that allows you to talk about it without spending additional resources.
The problem with LI seems to me somewhat far-fetched. I think we will have one chance to change the love interest and at this stage it is pointless to talk about their future somehow. Even if the girls start dating someone at a later stage, we should not care about it. Because thanks to branching, other girls will be excluded from the branch of the chosen girl and you will lose all previous chemistry to them, focusing on building deeper relationships. I think at some stage MC will be able to bring LI's exes together with her friends.
the issue is that Zoey was celibate on her "find herself" journey and learns that MC is the one for her even though she has literally never been with another guy, Sage has been in a sexless relationship for x amount of time and is comfortable with "fuckbuddies" but only uses MC, Jill is literally a virgin, Maya is essentially a virgin, Bella was married once in the past so she has been celibate since then, Josy's only relationships seems to be with Maya or MC. Its like DPC knew how stupid it would be if all the girls you could chase were literally just single, so he came up with a myriad of reasons that they could be EFFECTIVELY single and ONLY get fucked by MC. it comes off as unrealistic and like the price DPC paid to make this a psuedo-harem game like most of the other games on this site.

Like literally why is Tybalt of all characters the only other person in the game who is trying to actively pursue one of these women? For the narrative its so MC can have the most pitiful competition ever as he white knights for Jill, but in reality most of these girls are promiscuous as hell and they would probably being pursued by guys (or girls) left and right. for all the shit he goes through with Maya's finances and all the little things DPC tries to push so the world seems "real" and like there are in fact "rules" to it, but the illusion to me is easily shattered when the MC is the only person having sex/being intimate/being affectionate even on like the entire campus. and even before his arrival all these characters had "reasons" not to be doing those things too :HideThePain:
