Depends what you are looking for, if you want attractive characters, good animations and some humour, then you will like this, but if you are looking for a great story......then this might not be for you.
Okay... list the great story porn games for me if you will...
Please list what's so great about this story.
Nah, pal. That's not how debate works. You made the assertion this isn't one. Back it up by providing evidence. You can say you don't like it, that's fine, but you're saying the story isn't good. So give them examples of games with good stories.
Nope, I gave my opinion it wasn't a great story and it isn't, didn't say I didn't like it either, you want to debate...then go ahead.
Define what you mean by 'story'. If anyone is going to argue with you about your opinion, terms should at least be defined. Are you talking about the 'plot' or the 'setting' or what? A hint as to what you think is wrong with whatever would be helpful too.

Personally, I don't see any point in arguing about something so subjective as your opinion. But, whatever.
Most people that suggest the story isn't great are those who are looking for a strong plot. Something that compels the mc through the events.

Most stories here have an obvious aim for their mcs.

The mc in this game has no specific aim.

Like what is he actually trying to achieve?
  • He's not trying to save the beautiful princess from the evil queen (well he did do that once).
  • He's not trying to use the Book of the Dead to get himself back to his own time.
  • He's not dealing with insomnia and an alter ego intent on blowing up to blow up the world's main bank servers in order to wipe out all debt.
  • He's not teaming up with his brother to get his band back together to raise enough money to save the orphanage he grew up in.
  • He's not trying to stop the Nazi's from obtaining God's covenant to the world and tapping into its untold powers.
  • Depending on how you play the game, he's not even trying very hard to graduate from college.
He's just floating from day to day, occasionally fucking different girls (sometimes a bit more than occasionally :sneaky:), and helping out his friends when he can.

The mc doesn't even have any pressing issues of his own to deal with. I mean, he'd like to find out more about his mom, but he's not really putting any emphasis on seriously getting through her diary. Then there was that one time when he didn't have any clothes...

So all-in-all, I can agree with anyone that says it's not a "great" story, if by "great" they mean a huge sweeping plot of "Ben Hur" proportions (not the remake, I heard that was shit).

But that doesn't mean the story isn't highly entertaining.

Just like Rimmer said in his opening line, "Depends what you are looking for..."

Comparing EP2 to EPI makes you wonder what did him take so long. Its a much smaller episode but it was made for longer. Really makes you think what DPC spends money on. Not on his PC obviously.
I know we're not supposed to feed the trolls, but..

At the time Ep 1 came out, he didn't have the massive army of supporters he has now, and over the course of the next few episodes he did get the funds together to do significant PC upgrades. As I recall he has at leas 3 machines with quality rendering hardware in them now.
magaclaawe was actually comparing the development time of episode 2 vs the development time of the Interlude (ep-I).

I'd say that the Interlude took longer because that period included Christmas and New Year, so DPC probably took time off.

Also there was a lot of overhead in the Interlude that Ep2 didn't have. The overall game template was different, there was the new season import to get working, new characters to design, new minigames (shit ones unfortunately) to create, and even though there were less animations and images, the animations were longer (like almost 30% longer than episode 2's animations).

Episode 2 didn't have much of an overhead since everything created in Episode 1 was reused, where as the Interlude was almost an entirely new game with a new look and feel.

If Pink wasn't an incredibly controlling dude, but would have just outsourced the beta testing of the game, polishing and preparing digital release in game stores to someone, we wouldn't have received 2 months of delay.
I'm sure he'll get to that one day. Just imagine how huge the game will become by the end of season 3. He will fix bugs and test for several months!

I think he really needs a team, if continues to do work alone, the game will take huge amount of time to be done.

It's not about time, it's about load distribution. With each release, some aspects of the game will degrade. A person cannot do everything equally well, he is a person, not a machine. Pink has set the bar so high that his mistakes will be noticeable.

Also, I never called Tommy a genius. Why are you changing my post?:devilish:
Didn't change your post, only shorted the the quotation.

I didn't meant you called him as such one, but when reading your post, it feels you overrated Tommy too much. He has his brains much more south than the MC (Josy would agree), thinking only how toget the next joint and ride.

Well my bad but I aint gonna scroll through over 9600+ pages, its just easier to write up a question askig the active members of this thread. But thanks for the quick reply! :)
There is no need to scroll ALL the pages (BTW, i've set 100 posts a page, so i'm on 1925 pages), i started shortly before Interlude came out and read from there (still a big number of posts, took some time). So i have (a little bit) knowledge about how this thread works and doing easy with the different very active users here in this thread. This is my way to have fun while waiting for the new Ep (which will take some time to release), if you decide to catch up the older posts you will enjoy the different discussions for the same amount as you will enjoy BaDIK.

With a team, you can shorten some things but you (as the main dev) has to deal with different meanings of the team members. Doing this alone gives DPC the power to do it only his way, dealing with the increasing amount of work. With every Ep he has to take care of past events and storylines (even the dead ends he started) to develop the further way the game goes, with this amount of recurring characters, it takes time to not make mistakes which would interfere the game.

And als already discussed, the way the financial support DPC selected (not to develop and sell but to do it the Patreon way with monthly donations) gives him the opportunity to find his way for creating and releasing without having financial problems.

So true. It's also not good putting so much on yourself. Many Devs have had to put their games on hold because they get burned out.

question im replaying the game on Steam and I'm at the part where MC got shitfaced drunk and went to meet Bella for their "date" but took him home instead because of his drunk state so im in her one-room in the small library and when MC was about to leave he seen a soldier in the corner who is that?
Firstly it’s generally thought that it isn’t an actual person but rather a mannequin. There was some speculation that James (Bella’s husband) was dead, and she moved his body around to keep her company, not wanting to admit he was gone. The latter theory has generally been written off on the grounds of smell, rotting corpses don’t smell good.

So that gives us the mannequin idea. Some have said it’s just MC‘s imagination, except we know it’s real since the same boots can be seen under the door of Bella’s locked room. So why a mannequin, with either army or hunting fatigues? Well that’s were we enter the realm of speculation.

Seems plausible she kept the mannequin around for a similar reason to the body theory. She wanted to feel James’ company, however I don’t think this is necessary. In the room is also a large picture frame, on the floor facing the wall. Could this be a family photo? like the other smaller ones that have been faced down? The mannequin just becomes a object that was in the room that Bella hadn’t moved.

So why the army or hunting fatigues. Well again we get into full poorly educated guess work. Could Bella’s tragedy be a dead husband or child. We think James is alive because Bella says something like she has forgiven him and it’s time to come home, however, she knows he can’t. So that brings the dead child idea, minimal evidence for a child, basically just some stacks of kids books on her upstairs book shelves.

One other thing to note is the wonky cabinet in Bella’s living room. I think this is covering a blood stain. Bella isn’t the type to have an arbitrary cabinet 45 degrees from the wall for no reason.

So now the actual theories;

  • James killed himself, or tried to, possibly PTSD from being in the army. (Evidence wonky cabinet, army fatigues)
  • James and Bella’s kid killed him/herself with James’ gun. (Evidence Wonky cabinet, kids books, James’ forgiven but can’t come back, army/ hunting fatigues)
A bit more broadly I’d say tragedy at Bella’s, she is emotionally scarred the mannequin is a reminder of Jame’s. How that ties into the specifics of what happened I doubt we’ll find out for a while yet.

As i remember, someone stated the theory, that Stephen snuck in that night in Bella's house to get his + ("Isabella again ...") and the drunk MC noticed him but didn't recognized him correctly. But as said, this was only a theory, there was no evidence it happened.

Maybe James and Bella had a kid (the yoga room upstairs could have been it's room), but i don't think so cause Bella wouldn't have changed the room due to having memories (even when they are sad). Something happened between Bella and James (most likely by James fault) cause she said, she has forgiven him, maybe he had an affair and left cause of this. Bella wants him to return, so i don't think he's dead (or he is but she don't know), having his blood stain in the locked room would imply, she knows.

I assume, thinking of the picture looking unter the door, there could be some kind of SM equipment in the room, maybe she has some (hidden) affection to that kind of fun. This would match the DnG Ice Queen setting.

I think Bella loved to have group sex with blacks and James was a cuckold who looked at all this and jerked off. But at some point everything got out of control, James decided to participate, but Jacob didn't like it, he hit him and James started bleeding. He ran away, but Bella was outraged by him and is waiting for his return to arrange cuckold scenes again, but this time with MС, Jacob and Derek. Jill also participated in these scenes, but was not deprived of her virginity (only anally). :HideThePain:

Haha, I almost added "not that he needed to do anything in the first place". But then again, Indie didn't know that until the end, the same as the viewers, so we still felt the urgency of his actions.

Not that it's hard, but can you guess the source material for the other examples?
Just because it's much shorter than the actual one...

So the list of options were good but I don't think it actually matters... this is ( as was metioned be4 by Walter ) a subjective opinion " war " ...

... which is ultimately pointless and leads nowhere

But the one thing that is somewhat " interesting " that the " normal everyday life " ( you know the one where there are no magical beings no superhumans and whatnots  ) became for some folks some sorta " drag " AND forgetting the main thing that this is a PORN VN !

Still got no clue what is meant by " GREAT " writing as there was no response to a simple question... baiting was not intended btw... and honestly I'm a little bit thankful that there was none...

Dunno HOW ? or WHY ? ANY product would be considered as " GREAT " writing since this is still just moddafucking PORN ! :p:rolleyes: These authors are not pro writers and they don't even aim to become one so this whole idea about it is just.....

Can be discussed but really to what end ? I think this way you think that way another one thinks a third way... at some point our ideas might meet but identical they won't become... so the only way I know how to settle this is a quick glimpse into our local jailbirds life ( if I remeber correctly it was Chip... who is Ached... who is Dalli... who is DPC.....o_O:KEK: )

Yes I remeber that theory popping up. I think that is more likely to come down to DPC cheaping out on the number of male models he purchased. Could be wrong, that would be a fun twist.

Maybe James and Bella had a kid (the yoga room upstairs could have been it's room), but i don't think so cause Bella wouldn't have changed the room due to having memories (even when they are sad). I think she say's she wants him to retun but knows he can't. I don't think James is dead, mainly because it's such a easy avenue for drama. The nursery could be the locked room. A little odd on different floors, but not impossible.

<dalli_x mode>

I know it's a silly theory, but I personally wouldn't mind this. It would play into the college comedy angle, we're expecting some big melodramatic reveal from the room and it just turns up Bella has a bunch of fucked up sex toys in there. I don't think there is much chance of this.[/QUOTE]

so when I first picked the game up I remember being really focused on Bella and really interested in her story but for some reason, I think by the 5th or 6th episode it started to fall to the wayside for me. Like it became "I need to keep wearing her down more and more until she gives in and it didnt feel as natural to me as the other relationships had, I mean she was/is married and its obvious she's still hung up on her husband (status of life unknown) until of course your romance her enough.

so I dunno at the end of episode 8 it was interesting but until the reasons of the husbands leaving is addressed and we get a bit more of closure I'm sidelining the Bella plot.

also I was wondering, has anyone tried to do a minimal sex/being just friends playthrough? with Zoey coming in the next episodes I wanted to have a long lost love/ reunited playthrough in the event romancing Zoey can happen.
