The trick is does Tommy use his tell when he says it, which I don't think he does.
I'm pretty sure the Tommy/Josy relationship is exactly what it looks like:
  • Josy hates Tommy because he's a raging asshole.
  • Tommy hates Josy because she ratted him out for using her nail polish to get high, and possibly other stories of him being a dickhead and Josy telling her parents.
  • Tommy doesn't want Josy in the HOTs because he can't enjoy himself if he's worried she's gonna tell their parents more shit.
  • Josy doesn't stand for Tommy's shit, that's why she just marches up to him and kicks him in the balls for hurting her snowflake friend.
Anything sexual construed from their relationship is entirely due to the lack of incest in this game causing people to have withdrawals.

I was and still am convinced that Josy will get her drama. In EP3 she so says she makes or has made mistakes and there are some unanswered questions with Josy. Two examples.

- How did she get the college acceptance so suddenly? This has a bitter taste to it because Quinn was on the phone with Josy in EP2.

- In EP2, the MC asked Josy if that was her bed. Josy replies that is her parents' bed and their bed is too small for both of them. The MC thinks to himself, that's strange. To me, this suggests that it's an excuse by Josy because she didn't want to let the MC into her room. But why? I'm assuming that Josy went to the MC's school her senior year of high school. She could have been secretly stalking the MC and have pictures of him in her room that she doesn't want the MC to see. One thing is very strange. Maya said in EP6 that Josy has no problems meeting other people and making friends. But they work with the MC for 2 months and only just before the MC leaves for college do they start talking.

Why stalk? Zoey was still there when Josy got into the MC's school because Zoey and the MC didn't have sex until the MC was 18. We know the MC's birthday is 1-2 moante after school starts. Ergo, Josy probably knew so Zoey and the MC were together. Josy had no choice but to stalk the MC.
We entered to the Hardcore Drugs territory, guys. This is no joke

It’s mind boggling that you can’t accept that the parts of the game that do not appeal to your interests aren’t necessarily "padding".
Sorry, that's not it. It's fine if you like the padding, but arguing that it's something different doesn't make sense. DnG brings NOTHING to the table plot-wise or even in characterization. It's only there to provide more 'content' without furthering the plot whatsoever.

Well, it does give you 1 RP point with Maya and Jill, you never now if that 1 point will be important or not. Also, the interactions with Sally can be considered as foreplay. ;)

It's a bonding event for characters who otherwise might've interacted little (Maya and Jill, Sally and the main gang, etc). With extra porn you can access even when not on particular character's route. In a porn game.

Of all things to complain, this one is particularly silly.

What can I say? I dunno, Becky does it for me. :sneaky: It might be the fringe. I had a girlfriend in high school (yes, before any of you stalkers ask, it was that girl...) who had the same kinda fringe. I just like it.

Plus literally less than a month ago, my wife made a similar comment to Becky's about which of the twin's birthday it was (can't remember exactly what my wife said, but I remember laughing my ass off at the time and thinking of Becky).

So that pretty much cements it.

I dunno, there is the entire relationship between Sally and the mc that is mostly built through playing DnG. It's the one major thing that links the mc and the Scooby gang to the nerds.

There are plenty of other things in the game that have nothing to do with "the story". Like:
  • Any discussions with anyone over Swyper.
  • The entire relationship between the mc and Nicole, I mean she's a completely peripheral character, she doesn't tie in with anything of importance.
  • What about Jamie's garden, how meaningless to the plot is that?
  • Also, playing spin the bottle at the DIKs mansion, was that integral to where the mc's headed?
  • Then there's pretty much every sex scene between the mc and girls like Camila, Mona, Melanie or Sarah, or even girls who are seem more important to some plot elements like Riona or Lily. The mc doesn't need to have sex with them for the story to progress.
  • What about all of Derek's foolish antics?
Are you gonna say that all of that is just "padding"? Doesn't it actually add to the experience of the game? I mean, it's a story, but it's also a game, to be played for enjoyment.

So where do you draw the line? Strip out all the comedy, all the side sex, all the minigames, all the side characters, and just steamroll straight to the end of a probably very petty story?

I get that some people don't care to see the mc imagining having sex with people as opposed to him actually having sex with them, but so what? Some people don't care to interact with Quinn, other's can't stand Maya.

What's the "plot" anyway? Boy goes to college. Boy meets new friends, has fun and fucks girls. Boy helps out some of the girls he fucks.

But let's try to talk honestly.

Badik in order not to be a continuous series of sexual scenes needs to be interspersed with scenes of normal life in which we get to know the various characters

Jam Jam's passion for gardening tells us something about him, and in how much space? very few minutes of play, the same as a chat about more and less.
talking to Swyper's girls proved extremely meaningful with Nora, Cathe and Nicole, indirectly helpful with Rusty's new girlfriend, funny as usual with Arieth, for now the only chat that is an end in itself is the one with the party girl, whom it is not yet certain we won't meet again.

it doesn't seem to me that D&G really changes anything in the relationships of the participants, even in the relationships with the nerds there are no special references to "this bonding experience" and no choice we make during the game changes anything afterwards. it's purely a distraction, like the minigames are. with the difference being that it's mandatory and in MC's condition, that he could have sex with anyone in that room, objectively a huge waste of time (and but pancakes at Bella's house!!!!)

if the tenth chapter were entirely a science lesson by Nora, with explanations and exercises, it would be perfectly in the "story" of a boy in college but would remain a huge filler

the MC still hasn't actually told them he wants to be exclusive!
A perfect time to have Zoey show up first, making a window for him to get back together with her without violating the constraints of other relationships.
Quinn fucking the random guy while the MC looks at her with teary eyes and Quinn says "You thought you were special? So lame are you? lol"
Random guy is about to become the meat in an unexpected threesome sandwich if she does that. Fuckface must assert his dominance.
I'd prefer one with regular throuple and Becky hearing this from Maya...
Screw that. I want it to happen during the Halloween party and Becky walks in on it. MC drilling Maya fullbore from behind while she's got her head planted between Josy's legs.
Suggestion for a render: Jade and/or Quinn with MC on Tybalt's bed. It would be funny if Tybalt's bed got more action than he ever will.
Already banged Sage on his bed, hard to get more degrading than that. If you wanted to be cruel, you'd open his drawer and slice the watermelon he has hidden.

DnG is exactly like that. Scene of Normal life, They just play a litle fucking game and thats it.
That's what makes it special. It does not serve any higher purpose. It doesn't have to.
They just having Fun. like normal people.
In really it's not different than, you hang out with your friends drink a couple of beer and go home. FUN. simple FUN, nothing more nothing less.
I still fail to see why this is a bad thing..
It's not like there is a timer and you need to save the world and you stop just to smell the roses:LOL:. Waste of time, what time?

the Madam, that is a waste of development time, and waste of MC's money. But I'm almost sure DPC gonna make her important and related to somone, just because we dont like her.

EDIT
Oh and before I forget, just think about it, you say its waste of time and have no purpose ?!
Well, it has. Jill Josy, Maya, MC all together play a game together, they bound, they hang out, so it makes sense Why Jill invites Josy and Maya to her concert, Why they are all there, they all became Friends. . At least we have Evidence of them hanging out together and having good relationship .
Small, little thing, but without it , Plenty of people will Scream Bad writing Why they are all act like friend and Support Jill when they don't even have a scene together,. oh, sorry, it would be "constructive criticism"

Have to disagree regarding Josy... (about the lack of attention)

First of all, all the girls have kinda big drama going on. So much that its a little tireing too. I remember well when i played the game the first time (at that time Episode 3 was just around the corner and released while i started playing)

We gonna meet Josy and she is just perfect, the sweet little cutie we have a huge crush on (is still my favorite girl in the game, followed by Jill, yep iam a Jill fan, suck it up), of course she is taken and the Quest for winning Josy over starts... Dont need much more :D

And then we meet one girl after another... and the drama starts, Maya has big time drama, Bella big time drama (but hidden from the MC for know, doesnt matter for the player though, its there, and its big), Jill of course too and it will get bigger along the way with her family issues, tybalt and what not. Ah and sage got drama too... drama i dont really care for, fuck chad and why does she clinge so much on that relationship? Will never get that. Everstime we met a new girl i start rolling my eyes when i sense the drama with them... like "oh come on not again big drama coming along with a girl... maya is enough, i just want Josy" :D

Josy is the only girl with no real drama beside her emotional rollercoaster. SO FAR.

But there is a huge build up going on and all of this will explode further down... To me Josy more feels like THE main girl out of all the girls... a long time i thought its more Jill, i mean, come on she does the instruction too :D But everything is kinda connected with Josy. Tommy, MC knows her way before College starts, there are hints that she might know Zoey too (brother of a "friend" baught the alcohol and such) I dont see any scenario that the Maya/Josy realtionship is gonna work without the MC being in this. AND Josy is the only girl so far where the MC can be rejected and there are STILL strong feelings shown, thats complete unique in the whole game... (yeah you can say to derek that you have feelings for maya in EP5, but nothing comes out of it, Josy has several scenes after that where its just one step from starting to get serious) anmd she is literally friends with everyone.

DPC gave her very much attention, just in another way than the other girls...

She is the sweet cute but although little devilish girl who befriends everyone... but everything around her will explode down the road in some way... Tommy and the throuple is huge conflict potential that will blow up, and she is not a passive girl like Maya who lets everythign just "happen" no Josy will take action. And maybe she will take collateral damage with the whole quinn/Tommy drug things and get in that way too. and the overall plot will not go on without involving Josy very much... as i said, she is not a passive girl, she will take action when she see something she dont like... and the free tuition thing? Uuhh Josy will do something about it within the HOTs, iam sure of it. She will go little police-detective for sure

It was just not the time for big Josy drama so far, but attention wise, i think Josy got the most... she even has the most lewd scenes so far if iam not mistaken.

The whole Josy-arch is just different so far from all the others. (one point why i like her so much) It feels more "normal" with her overall. And the chemistry between her and the MC is the best too i think... you can kinda "relive" the feelings between them and watch them grow, with Jill its similar but not on that level. With all the others its more like a "head over heels" thing, even for maya which feels really odd considering her character.

I think Josy got enough attention from DPC (well for me its never enough Josy :D) and he decided to not give her that kind of drama like all the others, so he has at least one "normal" college girl in the game. As for now at least... but as i said, she will get her big drama, more than enough, maybe starting with episode 9... cause there is no way the maya thing with the burkes will unfold in a good way, and that will effect the throuple/M&J couple big time... and i think there is a big reason too why Josy and Maya didnt get a scene in episode 8 where the MC tells them he wants to get serious like he did with every other girl. Cause its not meant to be that the throuple will last for now... my guess? the throuple will come to an end in episode 9 (or better said Josy and Maya will seprate for a while), not forever for sure, but for a time being, cause Josy cant eat that shit anymore when maya starts drama again.

Josy just wants to be happy, and i like that very much about her. But she will not escape drama forever. And i have a feeling her drama can get bigger than we think cause it will not just be "one thing" like for all the others but several things that add up.
A very good psychological portrait of Josy. It was a huge text, but I handled it. I myself really like Josy, she is my second favorite Lee after Sage. And I love her DIK moments.
I just wish Josy would finally get more of a personal story, without Maya.
I'll correct you a bit, Josy isn't the only girl who can turn you down. Do something wrong with Jill (forget the picnic or get Dik-affinity) and her path will be closed. The only starting window for Bella's path is Episode 3, if you don't meet a few conditions, Bella is shut down forever. The only girl who doesn't reject Tremolo is Sage.
This should have been a longer text but I'm on my phone as usual:ROFLMAO:

Josy and Jill are already de facto friends, and I see nothing during or after the game that shows how their relationship has improved as a result of this shared experience, not even a hint. There is no real interaction between the girls, at most with MC (and even there nothing new and unexpected).

They studied together, they have friendships in common that is enough to invite them to a concert.

Imagine it was a skippable content, and I always skipped it. What would I honestly have missed? What next event would I risk not fully understanding or enjoying?

Then whether you enjoy it is not in question

I mean the game's main focus is drama so it's to be expected that each Li will have their own shit going on. Imagine if we took all the drama away(that's like 90% of this entire game's story) we'd be left with just another empty shell porn game. I agree that the drama gets tiring but without it there wouldn't be much going on and the Lis themselves would become boring and uninteresting.

None can answer that, dude. and I'm not Dalix :p. I won't pretend to create a "what if "scenario:LOL:. it is there and it's makes the game feels more alive. I can skip the Rio & Quinn Threesome and dont lose anything either, there you have it, and it's still in the game. or the Dreams about Jade or Caty

Are you gonna say that all of that is just "padding"? Doesn't it actually add to the experience of the game? I mean, it's a story, but it's also a game, to be played for enjoyment.
I'm sorry, but the 'misunderstood genius' argument can only go so far. From a development standpoint a lot of choices make no sense and could be accomplished in ways that are easier to make. Are you going to tell me the stupid fighting game in the phone adds something worthwhile to the experience ? How about some of the free roams which are basically 'do these 3 actions' but then have you waste a bunch of time pixel hunting to unlock some renders or get more money.

I also play the game and like it for the most part, but I'm not going to stay blind to all the problems it has. Some of those are so obvious that it can only be inferred the developer made them to prolong the lifespan of the game.

A lot of people like the fighting game. It actually allows you to practice before actually getting into fights. I would have preferred if there was some kind of underground fighting club rather than an app on his phone, but it doesn't matter. But the brawler game totally cements the mc as a fighter.

The free roams work well, even if the older ones aren't all as complex as the more recent ones. They are a game mechanic that provides time to build cash between scenes, as well as interface with things like Rooster, Swyper, phone calls and messages. It's not padding, it's a game mechanic that works well. Except DPC has a retarded notion of navigation.

Compare that to LoF where you have to arbitrarily check your phone at unknown times to see if there's a message your could send (not sure if it's still like that, but I remember in the early episodes at the cafe you'd miss out on things if you didn't randomly use your phone).

The pixel hunt I don't care for, but I didn't mind tracking down the magazines. It's a game feature that heaps of games have.

But seriously, this product is not just a visual novel, it's most definitely a game. People post their high scores for things like Triple Tile. It's fun. You know, the reason why people play games in the first place.

Of course there are some mistakes in the game, but the only feature I find no enjoyment in is Madame Rose. But that's me. I'm not going to be so arrogant as to suggest she is "padding" simply because I don't like her.

But it looks like we'll have to agree to disagree on this one, since there's really not much else to add to the subject.
