I always thought that the etymology of the word had a profane origin, even though it seemed to loose that among most folks later. Sucks ass remains an emphatic usage.

I still think we are going to have 17 episodes. Final episode 17 will probably be split into 2 smaller parts, that will wrap everything up, I guess we will know more when previews come out for episode 11, it's still unclear how much time next episode will cover - my money is on 2 or 3 weeks, Christmas is season finale - unless he plans to end episode 11 with an even bigger cliffhanger, and then season 3 will end during NYE party, so you never know.

Well even with Mass Effect, we were still stuck with Commander Shepard and he could never become a villain, unless you're looking at it from a Batarian point of view I guess.
But yeah, there's a lot of choice in the game but if he made MC diverge into a criminal punk instead of the person who cares enough to help out Maya, then he'd be essential writing 2 or more AVN's and the development time would really get even more crazy.

Not vastly, but so far any 'broccoli' interaction has been optional, he also had choices to bail if the character starts to annoy him, or stand up for himself(especially DIK MC). Come ep10 the game assumes you are full on broccoli and are ok with anything Quinn throws at you. There should have been a choice to tell her fuck you and bail on her when she brought him at the drug sale without telling him anything beforehand, instead we got the MC victimizing himself like a 14yo girl trying to guilt her into caring about him. Its as she said it, pathetic.
It might shock you, but there are many Quinn fans that actually like her like she is and don't want to fundamentally change her. DPC seems to not care that much about that portion and assumes everyone is on the 'I can fix her' train.

As much as he likes drama, it would probably be a matter of too much work to diverge the story that much. Though I would like it. I like to see a lot of story choices.

I've done both, but if it's your first time do multiple saves and if you like to see all outcomes, do at least one as a DIK, and understand one side girl is definitely a land mine. Not saying who.

I couldn't agree with this more. I don't understand folks saying he can't diverge...he already has! There is a chick path and a dik path. If the dik path turns out to be chick...but sometimes punches somebody, guessing that's going to be a bit of a letdown for anybody who played it.
And to the point he started out nice so he can't become a true dick...sure he can, it's called a character arc. Porn logic often forces it to be accomplished in a shorter period of time...just as he's banged more girls in one semester than the average college freshman out there.

I don't think anybody is saying he can't diverge. It's just a matter of degree's. If you take a story wildly in one direction versus another then you start to write two different stories and two different characters - or more. In a book, that's a lot of extra typing and complexity. In a video game it's not just more words and story complexity, that's a lot more coding and setting scenes and generating images. It's why even games like Baldur's Gate 3 have a limit to how much they diverge.

No, saying there's a limit to how much something can diverge doesn't equal to "might as well be kinetic" - people are very happy with the number of choices they get in Baldur's Gate 3 or Mass Effect. So we'll take what we can get, until PC games become so complex they evolve into something like The Matrix.

BG3 had years of development and hundreds of people working on it, I'm not making a comparison to either of those games, or saying there is 'no limit.' Just stating that I agreed with the guy above saying that it's fair to expect actual differences between the character on the chick/dik paths.
