Honest question. Haven't gotten to play BaDIK yet but for months I've been wondering what's all the fuss about it.
What makes this game stand out so much over the rest?
It's a good game to me (and I've played it through Ep11), but not a great game. The renders and girls are pretty amazing (Madame notwithstanding), and the story is tight and well told (though when I'd ever have time to replay it for each girl individually I do not know). It's among a handful of games with the very best stories in this genre

But it has some pretty glaring issues - more so in the early seasons, but even now.

* The free roams are downright painful for the first season or so, until we get the fast travel. Free roams are rarely good (though they can be), but this is one of the worse ones, with invisible arrows until hovered over, camara turning wildly, so an arrow leading back doesn't actually lead back and so on. It basically commits every sin possible for a free roam. And even later on the fast travel is.. inconsistent in what places it allows you to travel, necessitating using the arrows sometimes.
* The "hide a render" all over free roams (and sometimes not free roams) is another painful mistake. Again particularly in the early episodes where they are hidden to the point that you can barely see a pixel or two sometimes. Combined with the pain of navigating the free roams... If you do this thing add an option to highlight them or otherwise help those that want to continue the phenomenal story and see more great lewd scenes, but don't care for studying every pixel of every background in the game.
* The forced minigames - sure you can turn them off, but then you don't get all the renders, which is a ****** stupid way to penalize players. Some of the minigames are actually pretty great - and all are amazingly well done in Renpy. But some are painful, some are incredibly time intensive, and some are very hard. I'm immensely grateful for how few drawing minigames there were - those made me nearly ragequit. Just let people skip the damn minigames if they have a hard time with some of them - and do it without penalizing them.
* This one is subjective, but I really wish we weren't railroaded into a branch so early. This is college, and we are even in the DIK frat. Just because Elena shares some "wisdom" one morning we suddenly turn monogamous - or forego basically every main girl in the game. But I know this one can be viewed differently.
* This one is minor, but don't try to stop people "cheating" in a single player story based game. Don't as game creator assume you are some God of the medium and your creative vision must be unsullied by dirty "cheats". Let your players enjoy your game how they want.

The game is still very much worth playing - for the story and the visual quality alone. But I'd recommend getting a gallery unlocker if it works for everything (I haven't tested), disable minigames, and don't give a **** about finding renders. You'll get a far better experience just enjoying the frankly phenomenal story with the fewest possible roadblocks.

Well, seeing what he did in ep 11 he has something to make up for:
- Making Becky's fuck scene a comedic mess
- No kissing with Camila in the Camila & Sage threesome
- Only able to have sex with either Sarah or Mel during the decoration freeroam

And there are many more examples in that episode alone.

The second biggest question (besides if she's just teasing or if we really get to do stuff with her) with that preview in my mind however: Why does she flirt with MC? At least Jade had the excuse that she didn't know MC was friends with/dating her daughter. Iris however does know this.

Uh No ILY if 3some with Sage

Did 5 MG runs. Story top:
1) Sage.
Absolute cinema. Your run-of-the-mill 2000s romcom plot that, for some reason, takes place in college. Sage feels like the most realisticly written character with reactions, feelings and emotions.
2) Others.
Because all girls (not Becky and Quinn) are hot, and each has a simple, yet engaging story arc. A tiny bit like the movie 100 girls.
3) Jill.
Vanilla rich girl with a heart of gold, brain of a 5-year old and a disgusting rich worshipper. So many movie plots come to mind, I'm blanking. But her naivete is borderline Forrest Gump.
4) Bella.
Another romcom plot where the drama is created out of nothing. So a librarian is doing a student - big deal! If president of France can do it, who are we to judge? Overall it feels like a boring story and I'm just waiting for her husband to return. My money is that.
5) Josy-Maya.
Spots where you have to shift balance towards one or the other are too obvious, and girls react to every single bump on the road like it's a dealbreaker. I'd say that's exactly how it works out in life, but the plot just keeps going.

My two cents on how the story's going to end:
1) Sage will meet her parents, forgive and forget, helps put Quinn to jail and builds a family with MC.
2) Jill

But if seriously, Tybalt sues MC, Jill becomes his attourney, court drama ensues but she prevails, MC and Jill go on to become musicians.
3) Bella's husband returns, tells us he did not leave her deliberately; he bit into a chocolate bar, not knowing it had peanuts, and had an allergic reaction, covering 90% of his body with large tumors. dies of some incurable disease, Bella leaves work and MC for a while, skip to graduation, and she invites MC for a proper date in her backyard.
4) Josy-Maya.

The triangle breaks up, Maya and MC work out her problems, get pregnant and settle down after both dropping out. MC is an up and coming UFC fighter, Maya is a housewife.
Josy and MC study hard the whole university time, Josy finds her calling in blogging, and together with MC go on a trip around the world.

5) Others: Sarah ends up getting all the STDs and becomes religious. Mel marries MC and they both wear sweaters around the house. Nicole gets together with MC, but they don't marry. MC helps her find a normal job and they get another kid. Lily and MC move to Florida, open a bar by the beach and sometimes push a 'lil something-something through Quinn and Tommy. Rio and MC go on a trip across Asia, where Rio gets spiritual, dumps MC for a while, but then they get back, move to the States and open a yoga retreat.

Anyway, the game is still 11/10.
