It's Sep 10th so happy (probable) birthday to MC. If our calculations are correct and the year of the events is 2020 (or 2015), he'd be 24 (or 29) today. So congratulations to him!

In that case the calendar is wrong. The one date we are certain of is Nov 1st being a Sunday. On the basis of technology the likeliest years are 2020 and 2015. Maybe Cathy is 41 And lied on her Swyper profile. Or 40 if her birthday is later in the year. Or 79 is not her birth year, though what else it could be I have no idea.It might actually be 2017. I understand the calendar thing, but honestly idk if I'd give DPC that much credit, that he tracks the dates accurately. It's like the location of B&R, it doesn't really matter (unless it's in Kuala Lumpur
). Let's see if he gives days for Christmas and New Years, if they match then I'll jump on board 2015/2020.As for Cathy, I suppose lying about her age on Swyper helps with the anonymity, but yeah idk what else 79 would mean, unless it's just random. I doubt that though.

The calendar in Maya's room says 2017 at first, then gets changed to 2020, then back to 2017. Given DPC made a choice to go BACK to 2017 (or seems to have done so), that is the most likely year.

Looking at the edge of the 2017 one there's more empty space after the 7 and with 2020 the 0 takes up more space at the edge. Seems like It's more pink than white on the right edge of the year

Okay, that is a good catch. I hadn't noticed that. It definitely rules out 2015. I'd still go with 2020 as ep 10 seems to follow that calendar. So DPC has been flip flopping with this for a while. The Cathy info is a relic from the game being set in 2017 that can be explained as her lying about her age. Or 79 is 7/9 as in July 9th her birthday rather than birth year. Or Sep 7th DPC being European.
Of course if the game is set in 2017, Sep 10th isn't a possible birthday for MC as it isn't the right day of the of the week in that year. But his birthday is around this time of year so congratulations to him.

I have toyed with a fanfic idea that the puzzle box is a time machine that resets the world to the starting time of the game and people in close proximity have memories of what happened.Maybe these are all subtle hints that time travel exists, and changes to the timeline keep BADIK in temporal flux, where the time of events shift

The day Lana and Rox died, him and Buddy were talking about the Departed by Scorsese released in late 2006. Which means that the scene couldn't have happened before late 2006 at the earliest. We also know that Quinn was seven years old that night.
Considering she's one or two years older than than the main character in the current time, the events of the very episode first take place 13 or 14 years after the night when Lana and Rox died. So it's impossible than the first episodes take place in 2017-2019.
Unless the Departed was released sooner in DPC universe of course
