It's more a simple lack of respect for women, which is baked into most of the game. I'm aware this is a porn game about a stereotypical college frat called the fucking DIKs, and it's mainly just to be funny, and some of it is to make MC look better by comparison. But since the characters are fleshed out well enough, it's a little less easy to dismiss.
Idk, ultimately I don't really care. My overall point is that Derek is a dumbass and doesn't exactly scream boyfriend material.

I'm glad that Being a DIK is politically incorrect and doesn't have the same censorship as modern video games and isn't saturated with "modern standards". And that's good. Because we can see how Derek behaves with women, it's immature and stupid. We see that the jocks are real misogynists, especially Dawe. We see that the opposite camp with these colorful peacocks is just as retardic and misandric, with the whole "Muh man bad" essence. DPC ridicules idiots from both camps, and we as players can conclude what is right and what is wrong, having a comparison. He laid his views in Maya's speech when she helped MC with gender lessons, in the library: "Any radicalism is bad."
And D-boy just need to grow up, if he stays with "Feel free to touch my butt in a front of dad" lines, than he will be on Arieth level.

Don't remind me of that. First time I tried to hook him with Penny both him and the MC were drunked and left her hanging and confused, then I decided to interact with her with a sober MC to see if that would result in a better outcome, but Derek's comment was even worse. Was thinking they could get together at the Halloween party, but scuba dude got first and Derek couldn't even talk properly to Camila without thinking about his ugly crush named Ashley. I suck as a wingman.
For someone who was always telling the MC to not focus on one woman and go for many since that's what college life is, he surely sucks at maintaining his own motto since he hasn't been the same since Ashley got mad at him and went for Anthony instead.
