However, when developing the past 2 episodes the animation rendering speed has gone up to 45-50 the last month. So that's roughly 11-12 per week.
Yes, i did add an edit to my original post. He has increased his average in previous episodes towards the end of production but he hasn't done that yet. Though I make the uptick 9 a week rather than 11-12.

I'm disapointed guys, you were all mentioning some of the great songs from the game and you all forgot to mention these bangers that are all from the last EP alone.

There are many things I can point as negatives in Being a DIK, but the soundtrack?

That is perfection.

You picked a terrible game to be your first porn game. Good luck finding another one of the same caliber. :ROFLMAO:
There's a few great ones, and this one is right up there. So much variability depending on choices and attitude. I've probably played through this more times than any other AVN. Still want to try different runs. So much to love, the characters, whatever inconsistencies or quirks, seem so alive and real (in a game sense). Also, a lot more relatable than many AVNs which tend to have a more fantasy (magic or otherwise) feel.

That awesome right??
Considering that you lose the ability to appreciate all other games because you're used to Being a DIK's quality, I'd say no.

There's a few great ones, and this one is right up there.
It's almost unanimous that Being a DIK is the best AVN ever created. There are some really good ones like Eternum, but overall... there's a real gap between Being a DIK and the other games.

I hope the end of 2024 is treating you well. Amidst work, I've had a couple of nice days off celebrating Christmas.

This week, I added music to all remaining scenes and will have to analyze if more is needed in some areas. At the moment, 42 new songs have been added to episode 11. Sound effects still need more work, but not a lot.

I added the lewd events of episode 11 to the Stats app and will ensure that it works while playing.

I've played through the episode three times this week. I played Others, Josy & Maya, and Sage branches and noted what to fix. I'm encountering fewer issues with every playthrough and making good progress with the polishing.

Josy & Maya's branch needs some more work in one area in particular, but it feels good other than that. I have only played one variation of the Others branch so far, and it also felt good. I will have to play through more variations to get a different feel for it later. I finished playing Sage's branch today, and I need to play more variations of this branch as well.

To take a break from playing the episode, I'm parsing the dialogue to tighten and correct it. I've parsed about 100 pages of a 400-page Word document and will continue until I finish before I start playing the episode again.

Next week, I will play through Isabella's branch and likely revisit Others and Sage branches with new variations.

All my systems work on animations, except when I must re-render static renders to fix something. Four different lewd scenes are rendering across the PCs, and the render speed varies from scene to scene. Some of the animations rendered this week were longer than others, ranging from 4 to 15 seconds. At this time, it's tricky to predict how many animations will be rendered weekly.

55 animations remain in the queue; unless I miscounted, there should be 392 animations in total for episode 11.

Have a great end to 2024, and I'll see you in 2025.

Thank you for being so supportive during this challenging year.

Love

Well I guess February is an optimistic release date now. March is likely, but not ruling out April, which would be a disaster.
If DPC gets away with it, he'll go completely insane and start spending two and three years developing an episode, explaining it with branching and cinematic experience( cinematic experience in DAZ, he's kidding, right?).
And I want to recall one phrase of his at the beginning of the development of this development cycle

I'm currently up to 85 posed animations, with 63 of those animations fully rendered - and yes, that's a lot this early on.
reviously completed animations rendered at 30 fps for Brawler, I'll continue to render at 60 fps during this development cycle. I hope you enjoyed those animations in episode 10 as much as I did.
I've started working on the 6th lewd scene of the episode, and it will be one of the bigger ones.
63 rendered animations is a lot as we know. I don't remember the end of the last development well, but he finished rendering the animations around mid-November. Sage's final preview came out on November 15, let's assume that by that time he was done with rendering ep10 animations and started rendering ep11 animations.
So the first status update came out on January 5, where he stated that he rendered 63 animations. It took about 8 weeks to render, which is 2 months. The rate is about 7-8 animations per week.

I've been investigating a sweet spot for rendering speed and quality to make 60 fps animations viable with my current hardware, and I believe I have found it. Render speeds are looking good, and I will continue to monitor this process and tweak it throughout development.
So, by now he knew that the speed of rendering animations leaves much to be desired. Did he do anything to solve this problem? No.
He could have just bought 5-6 more computers and could have cut the rendering time in half, but he didn't and said that the rendering speed is fine.

I hear you MAGGOT BROTHER

like regular video game, isn't it? there is gap between whatever ROCKSTAR makes and the rest. Will try some others to see for myself what's good fapping material. Appreciate the head ups mate
The difference between DPC and others is that they are in unequal positions. DPC has an almost unlimited budget, it can buy music with a license of 100-500 dollars per song, while others cannot. He can spend $1000 dollars a month on assets while others can't. He can buy the most expensive equipment and not limit himself in rendering quality, others are forced to create average quality renders due to small budgets. As a result, games with a story, world, and characters much better than DPC's end up unnoticed.

March for all animations, if we take 5 animations/week. Plus beta, update is late March it seems

The renderspeed will increase very much. Cause all the hardware is now only rendering animations.

And again.. nobody knows how long these animations are. Small ones are done pretty fast, if the remaining animations are not that long, they could be done in 2-3 weeks. And its reasonable that the last animations in the queue will be shorter ones, cause DPC added them "last minute" to just add some flair here and there. The bigger lewd animations should be done, late january is still not off the table, but its more likely a february release... valentines day is maybe a "nice" date for a release? I dont really care for that day... but well, you can create some nice marketing out of it :D

And the majority of the beta testing can start even before the last animations are done. Basically he is already doing that. Played the episode several times and is polishing now. This will take maybe 2 weeks now and all the while the remaining animations will render.

Because he doesn't want them to finish too soon. He can't stand the computers being idle so he would feel pressured to make more animations. Right now he plans for the animations to be finished when the manual work is done, during the polishing stage. If the computers finished weeks before he was finished with the posing, writing, coding and polishing, he would just make more stuff and it would add to the manual work, meaning longer development time.

Lmao what february/march for a new years theme? Would have made more sense to release half now to at least catch the vibe/timing. But oh well. Not unexpected or disappointing, just funny.

Very true. Another similar game also used to have a good budget but some bad decisions, like heiring people to cut the development time, really backfired, the quality dropped and he went down from almost 7000 Patreons to less than 1300.
So a big budget also comes with risks like expanding too fast. The great ones usually end up being made by a solo developer or a small team with the same vision who started it together.

Well, the New Years part will proberbly be in the end so it wouldn't really solve anything. I think splitting it would have given us content faster but would also have made the over-all development longer since every part would have had to been made as a single part.

Nobody cares how many new songs are in the game, DPC.

Personally, I play with the music muted because it's so overbearing most of the time.
It's definitely a personal preference thing but plenty of us do like the music, some AVN devs also find bangers.

Music can also add to scenes lewd or otherwise. One of my favourite scenes in the game the titjob/blowjob scene with Bella after she helps Fuckface clean his room has a song called . That scene has a different feel with music compared to been silent.

AVNs aren't really different from video games or movies in that good music can add a lot.
