It's a poorly crafted mechanism, sure, but it has always been less impactful than you want it to be and in my initial response I stated exactly the answer to your question. It's a linear storyline, as in when DPC wants Fuckface to act a certain way for the plot, regardless of affinity, the boy will act that way.
so you missenprated the affinity system a bit . The MC has a default personality which you can alter, one way or another, but he won't be a different person.

Neutral is the canon personality of MC, but they usually share the same dialogue with the chick mc, except in a few case, when it depend on status. probably for easier writing.
