If Rusty wasn't a wuss he could have easily scored Jill. Total disappointment. 0 backbone, 0 leadership, It seems he is neither learning from all his failures. The only good thing about him is that he isn't into drugs.
I agree with everything except the last part. Nothing wrong with a recreational joint. It's just the hard drugs you should stay far away from.

Yeah, the only date we know of she had with a guy before is Rusty. Looking at how he was during his interview at the preps and looking how he's dealing with Micha, doesn't really seem like good dating material for someone like Jill (even though they would honor the school's name of Burgmeister & Royce if they became a couple).

Rusty seems to be in free fall mode lately, it's like his purpose and position just collapsed since MC arrived and he can't rely on his dad for everything anymore

this thing he has going on with Micha is just going to make it worse, perhaps by telling him he is better than that he might come to his senses but he seems all over the place right now

I mean in terms of getting with Jill. Pot is something okay, hard drugs are not.
Unfortunately that's what led to Lana's death. Pot was no longer doing it for her, she wanted harder drugs like cocaine...Which ended up being the death sentence for her.

Rusty not being into drugs makes complete sense, especially given that Rusty sees what those drugs end up doing to his brothers at the outdoors party and is just annoyed to having to look out for them like an actual father.

That's actually something I like if you do date Jill. Rusty finds out about it and gets angry at himself.

Because he sees MC and he believes that he could've been in that spot if he simply wasn't the entitled, arrogant douchebag that he was back then. If he did everything right, he and Jill could've been together. Rusty and Neutral MC actually have a lot of similarities personality wise.

What I see here is basically Rusty being too far in the "pursuing Josy/Maya while they are still together" phase. He's basically the MC if MC was trying to do his best to break up Josy/Maya and be with one of them. That's my interpretation anyway.
Yeah, it looks like he is some sort of combination of Derek (the whole Ashley situation) and MC (pursuing M/J when not on their route), but with a lot less backbone.

I don't understand why you guys are shitting on Rusty not acting as a leader. He was the president of the DIK on paper only, the one in charge has always been either Vinny or Tommy and now the MC.

Rusty would take care of business related stuff and the alcohol, most of the decision making for the frat he left to Tommy. It's not that Rusty has weak leadership, it's mostly that he does not wants to deal with those stuff. He actually owns to his mistakes and blames himself a lot for what is happening, but he is more aloof and would rather avoid dealing with problems. He don't want to be a leader, simple as that.

This is probably why the Sally spy theory holds a little bit of weight since she has been at the DIK parties very early on

But at the same time I don't think installing that camera was a 5minute job either

Her death sentence was not that she wanted to try cocaine. It was that the cocaine was 'poisoned' like Jonathan said. Same cocaine killed Rox too. Now I won't blame Buddy here because Buddy actually cared about Rox, but someone did something to that particular batch.

I think the first time that Rusty acted as a leader was during the repairing the mansion stage of the story. He took initiative, got them a recurring job, was pushing hard into it all because he needed this new plan to work. Or else the frat would be done for. So he did everything he needed to do, and much like MC he was guessing a lot of it too.

Once it was over, he was getting back in his old ways. Because "fun times were ahead" and the crisis was averted. He was moving back into the bubble and unfortunately there was nothing anyone could do. I have a feeling the business with Micah will lead to him permanent change when the shit hits the fan.

I don't think anyone thinks he is a bad guy but having the title of President comes with baggage that you can't sweep under the rug because it's not fun to deal with, the buck stops with the leader in most cases, i'm surprised he hasn't had any thoughts about transferring the position over yet

A leader who doesn't want responsibility can't be a leader, fact. EP.11 did a great job showing that if it weren't for Rusty's last name he would be nothing. Dude is humiliating himself for Micha... Micha...

The ideal President is clearly Sage. She is very much a leader and no one disputes that. From what we can tell, she's actually really good at it and pretty smart too. Unfortunately it sounds like she and Chad were the only good leaders of their separate groups.

That's quite literally the definition of weak leadership though xD And it wasn't always like that when the mansion got trashed he actually did step up and helped with the repairs and got the DIKS a job at the senior retirement home. He also took Tommy's worst case scenario in to account and devised a Plan B in selling his car to pay for the windows but... since Micha entered the picture he's been acting like a complete wuss and it only got worse this episode waaaay worse.

It's probably Tommy that never wanted the title. He would rather have Rusty keep it so Rusty could deal with the legal mumbo jumbo that he hated while made the day to day decisions on the frat regarding parties and other stuff.

Sage is a questionable leader, to say the least. She didn't listen to Maya's request to switch mothers and Quinn does whatever she wants under her nose.

Don't get me started on the ridiculous deal Sage made with the Jocks to bring Chad back and still share the HOTs with them.

Yeah, just a shame she put too much trust in Quinn. I understand she's busy, but even if you think everything is going well, you should always check on the VP's work once or twice a month imo.

He does not want to be a leader dude. How can you say that he has weak leadership when he does not even WANT to be a leader? And just like always during the mansion stuff, he took care of the legal stuff once again, but he left the day to day decision to the MC this time. He owns his mistakes and he take care of stuff, but he don't try to inspire people nor he tried to command or make decisions for them.

At this stage he is just the Diks Piggy Bank. It sounds harsh but it is, what it is. Well not everyone can be a leader. Being a nominal leader is fine too for a newly founded frat. But not learning from your mistakes "Micha", not having backbone to pursue what you wanted "Jill" is what has made him a disappointment.

Chad allowed his boyfriend to be ostracized by the group, doesn’t have the balls to be himself and constantly plays a role, got rid of his title because he lost his cool and the way he treated Sage is one of the reason the HOTs and Alphas relationship deteriorated. He doesn’t even refrain Dawe stupidity. He's far from being a good leader.

I never thought I would be so disappointed in Rusty as I was in EP.11. Forgive me, Tommy... I treated you very badly...
