I think the first time that Rusty acted as a leader was during the repairing the mansion stage of the story. He took initiative, got them a recurring job, was pushing hard into it all because he needed this new plan to work. Or else the frat would be done for. So he did everything he needed to do, and much like MC he was guessing a lot of it too.I don't understand why you guys are shitting on Rusty not acting as a leader. He was the president of the DIK on paper only, the one in charge has always been either Vinny or Tommy and now the MC.
Rusty would take care of business related stuff and the alcohol, most of the decision making for the frat he left to Tommy. It's not that Rusty has weak leader ship, it's mostly that she does not wants to deal with those stuff. He actually owns to his mistakes and blames himself a lot for what is happening, but he is more aloof and would rather avoid dealing with problems.
Once it was over, he was getting back in his old ways. Because "fun times were ahead" and the crisis was averted. He was moving back into the bubble and unfortunately there was nothing anyone could do. I have a feeling the business with Micah will lead to him permanent change when the shit hits the fan.
