How wasn't it the front door? The scene is matching the opening cinematic. Which is the front door. Bella's mystery room is always locked. So how did it get opened?
And why would they be taking Derek to the mystery room? They're rushing to the hospital.

Maya was looking for towels. I know she is blonde, but she wasn't looking for them outside the front door. The actual question as you said, is why was it unlocked? Maybe Bella made a mistake, maybe she subconsciously wanted to get caught?

He grabbed his things and left, he was no longer wearing the DIK jacket after that. He likely applied to a dorm too, or is staying somewhere in the city until he can get into a dorm.
Nick's no longer part of the frat. He grabbed most of his things and left, it's not likely that he's going to be coming back with all of the shit he said: he snitched on everyone with the secrets that they kept. He broke any trust he had. And even if by some chance he wanted to come back, at LEAST half of the DIKs will say no given what he did.
Nick even said that he should've quit just like Vinny did back then, but he didn't have the balls to do it. So yeah...it all leads to him being out of the DIKs.

Yeah that all makes sense. It's just that I was left with the impression that it wasn't official yet, and that Tremelo's conversations with the other Diks maybe would even determine whether they accept Nick back or not.
It's ok, only another 18 months to find out.

It's funny how often you can eat Quinn's food for free, you almost never have to pay (especially if you're on Quinn's route and Sage's fuckbuddy) for her food if you make the correct choices. You would think that would get her out of business.

We even have freeroam in Bella's house when not on Bella's path. It's even mandatory for the story to try to open the locked door early on in the game.
Not being on Bella's path is not an excuse for not knowing that isn't the front door
