I was fine with Josy before her identity crisis.
It was good that she didn't have “problems” like the other GMs. What's more, it was more or less necessary in the story because Maya had a problem that took up a lot (too much) of space.
Now we all get the impression that DPC has created “problems” for her just because the MC's girlfriend needs to have problems, and with Maya's solved, it's Josy's turn.
She could very well decide to do what she does (blogging, fashion,...) without going through an existential crisis. Instead of having Josy become a problem for the throuple, we could have something interesting about how the throuple will function from now on:
- Josy and Maya are a couple (they were before the arrival of the MC), now that they don't have to hide, how they're going to behave in public, how they're going to deal with it (plus it could also be useful in the route where the MC isn't with her).
- how do they integrate the MC into their relationship?
I think there was enough to keep Josy, Maya and the MC busy without having to go through Josy's identity crisis.

I think Josy getting this arc is a direct response to people saying she's boring. The dude that said she's "Basic" (or whatever he said) was a stand in for those people. I liked her before, but I'm biased toward season 1. Her introduction was the reason I prioritized her. That and I liked her 3D model.
Also since she's trying to be an influencer or whatever. Expect a stalker subplot.
I feel like this wasn't in the original draft of the story, But I wouldn't know. I've checked out of the story to be honest.

Sure, some events can. And you can connect anything to anything.
But without proper setup, a consistent theme or conflict, of "this character is about XY and Z", you're fishing for random scenes of conflict, and then have to read into them to make leaps in logic. Think red string on giant picture boards...there is no throughline with Josy's issues to cause her to have an emotional or identity breakdown. You'd have to have some serious, consistent events, pretty much every time we see her, to make these micro conflicts into a big one. In reality, she's one of the happiest most mature main characters, almost stereotypically into the MC, very similar to Zoey. In fact, she may be a Zoey 2.0 later on if her crush continues and she goes through her own Interlude (oh god no).
And what you listed with Jill? Simple forms of conflict.
-Bunch of friends that covet her bf -- as with every path
-Rusty -- not even an issue till he brings it up during Episode 9's Hallowe'en party, and even then, has no impact on Jill's conflict or character
-Sister and Jonathan -- her sister is a thing with her entire family, and whatever her "moon" focus is in relation to seeing the MC as her "destiny", and that's core to her family problems and drugs. But Jonathan was just introduced via 2 flashbacks in Episode 11, and just an event she was hoping for (and it's a good thing of plot development, not a form of conflict).
None of these are related, or have a consistent theme to show a flaw that Jill possesses that is constantly attacked, where she'll have an emotional breakdown over.
You're also missing the Tybalt nonsense, which got in the way of her relationship with the MC, and brought them closer together, along with Tybalt's presentation which caused her to cry, since she is now realizing other women are after him. Tybalt is essentially a sacrificial lamb of comedic proportions, and thankfully fuels Jill's relationship with the MC, and Sage's.
DPC does have an outline, but he's filling in the blanks as he goes...

Maggot brother, you might want to to step back from the opinion pieces for awhile. Opinions are fine, but you seem bent on one-upmanship. You're starting to make less sense.
For one, Jill contacted Jonathan in the middle of season 2 (Chapter 6 or 7?) about starting a campaign in Lana's honour. We didn't see his character before chapter 11, but he was introduced before then. So, yes, DPC "outlined' plot for that character (for one example).
You tell others not to make assumptions, and then make a judgment call on several things in this post alone. For example, how do you know Tybalts story (so far) is just "nonsense" or that DPC only wrote him so that he will only play the role "a sacrificial lamb of comedic proportions"? Who knows where DPC is taking the character. There could be a ridiculous plot twist with Tybalt, who knows? (Or it could just be nonsense and you'd be right and can crow and tell us all about it later!)
All I'm saying, respectfully, is that opinions are fine, but try not to sound so condescending about it. Step off the high horse, as it were. We are all just guessing and grasping at straws at this point. Have fun with it maggot brother, that's all we are trying to do!

Tybalt is geared up to be a constant thorn in Jill's side and potentially an actual threat too. He carries no respect from his fraternity, with the exception of maybe Rich but I'm sure with his recent actions he's not exactly thrilled with Tybalt either. I think that the letter Tybalt received was some sort of leverage to protect him from the committee that would decide whether or not he'd still be President of the fraternity. Either that, or something on Trent and some of the older fraternity members. It's all open to speculation though, only that he was very happy about it. I don't think MC/The DIKs would be impacted this time, especially since his priorities have shifted since then. Plus it would be difficult to include the MC if he isn't Jill's girlfriend. But all in all, I would be most fearful for either Jill or some of the other preps like Trent or Lucas, Christen or Gordon.

Yes, people can change. I don't know if DPC is going to take time to do a revenge plot in this case, but I totally can see it. Tybalt may have brought a lot of this down on himself (he wouldn't see it that way), but he seems the type to twist it all around and lash out. Whether that would end hilariously (at the expense of Tybalt) or badly for someone also depends on how dark DPC is really planning/willing to take this story.

We certainly don't need others telling us how "deep" Josy is without evidence. DPC is not some mystery writer where if we just change our perspective, some fridge brilliance of the the puzzle that is BAD just connects. Even I got confused on what door was opened at the end of Episode 11 because it makes no sense that the locked one is magically unlocked during Christmas; it makes no sense that occurred in that way at that time. Many others on here thought it was the door to outside, because that just...makes more sense. Because that's how doors work. And this was shown to us back at the opening cinematic to...Episode 9? So yes, DPC sets stuff up in advance, thus has an outline. But his execution of those ideas aren't clear.
One one hand, we just get confused and say whatever.
On the other, you have the guys who "saw it all coming" and think they know better than everyone else, and tell us off because we "lack perspective."
Does she? I thought the flashback showed a very different looking Jill, like before the events of BAD. Either way, so? I'm not saying DPC doesn't have outlines. I'm saying he fills in those outlines as he goes along.

Till then, he's there to provide conflict with Jill/Bella and the MC, and to bring them closer together. He played a similar role with Sage. And we all know how the Burke family reveal was much ado about nothing (or at least, DPC didn't do much with that supposed "big" reveal).
But it's obvious he's comically a caricature villain (like Chad). Small dick, lying, pompous, the ridiculous idea that Jill is warming up to him, proposing to Jill scene, gets ignored and hated by Bella, farts in public, smells gross, gets his teeth smashed in with a...tennis ball? Can get punched out by the MC...Egoism, the presentation, hates the MC, calls Jade "mommy", the watermelon...Jill smashing his vas deferens causing him to walk funny...even the doctor in Episode 11 laughs at his name...even the other Preps are now making fun of him now.
Stop me if this looks normal and not an exaggeration of something that's not designed for comedic value.

Josy is chill and mature but is not the most upfront character of all tbh, and with that you can do what you want, same as Nick, he was among the most chill of all until something happened, irl you don't know what goes thru someones head in a story you can just put a flashback or something and be done with it.
About the other is a bit short sighted from you tbh.
Bunch of friends that covet her bf, dude even on Sage path after banging all the HOT's for 2 seasons they show a bit more respect for Sage than the "mature" friends Jill has, which is kinda ironic that bunch of horny sorority girls can keep it together.
Rusty: The choice you make with him matters in EP 11, not only you cut Bianca flirting, but who knows how he will behave after, this ofc if you are on her path.
Her sister and Jonathan: This actually shows her flaw, way too naive, she accepts all he said. No questions Asked? How you knew the dealers? Why you didn't do anything about them? Ofc this is just theories for now but if we have a prostitution ring under tuition program, it's possible that something darker is going on under that charity BS. Tybalt it's stupid and the game made it clear that he will not overcome hear, but hey the other problems, who knows.
Every character has actually a pretty established set of flaws, if you look closely
And ofc he has to fill the blanks, if you believe someone has everything in his head, you'll be dissapointed, up to this day people still believe GRRM has "everything in his head". The same reason i download S3 from here it's the reason i don't judge too harsly the game, because it's still an unfinished product.
