That's not why I'm on crack. That's how it is in my playthrough.
Furthermore, it could still be the case, even if the MC doesn't say anything to Josy in the gym. Then it just doesn't come up.

Josy comes up with it because MC told her about Chad and Troy Josy only suggest it if you tell her about them Also lets not over the most important part Sage confirms Josy is the master mind behind getting the loan solve.

Josy explains the Beard Agreement to the MCs at the gym. She can only do this because she already knew what a Beard Agreement is.

How Josy knows isn't really important honestly she could had been on the wrong end of one but she was never willingly part of one with Maya as I think your trying to say.
Maya chances her story so many times in the first season she probably lying about having dated boys before,which Josy pretty confirms Maya was lying with her reaction to Maya actually liking MC

"Dating" is also rather ambiguous. We see ourselves that "dating" can mean going on one date and that's all, Maya could mean that. Go on a single date to satisfy her dad (who probably pushed for it), then just never call back or say it sucked or intentionally sabotage it. Plus Maya's experience with guys in general never seemed positive.
I know I've said this somewhere, and definitely others, but her need for emotional connection plus guys and her dad being assholes to her is what lead to the idea that she's a lesbian. She basically says it herself in Episode 5 if we follow her instead of Josy.

She could had meant a date but I wouldn't call one date with someone the same as dating them. High school Maya sounds like a wallflower bit of a nerd, and not a lot of friends other then Derek and Josy. I don't think Maya is actually lesbian I think she wasn't getting in where with boys then came Josy both got what they needed out that relationship till MC came along and change there whole world

I'm not denying it, so she only tells the MC about the Beard Agreement when the MC tells her about Chad and Troy. But that's irrelevant; Josy knows what a Beard Agreement is, whether she tells it or not. I don't see it as a big deal. It depends on what DPC (Pink) makes of it.
Maya doesn't change the story that much in the first season. Maya first says she needs to call her boyfriend. Only, by boyfriend, she meant Josy. Learn to look properly.

Really? I know what a beard is, as do most people. Straight people, gay people, young and old. It's not a deep dark secret thing. It was really common in Hollywood in the 40s-50s, as being Gay was not acceptable to the general public, and it would have ruined actor's careers.
MC didn't know, because he was extremely sheltered in terms of media access, only listened to music, had no TV, and couldn't afford to go to the movies.
Are you telling me that you never heard of what a "beard" meant for gay people?
