Eh...max Correct me if I'm wrong.
But I think that after you set a date with Jill and decided to see Bella, when she was struggling alone in the library, she had a line like, "James, please come back, I forgive you." So it seems like it was her husband's fault, doesn't it? Or did I remember it wrong?
I don't recall that, I remember her being apologetic when thinking about him, but I could be misremembering. It's been a little bit since I actually played the early seasons because the writing there is ehhhhh...
Here's her inner monologue in Episode 3:
( ... I did the right thing. This was for Jill. Married women don't fool around with young students... They aren't intimate with friends either... But that... that was different! It doesn't matter... I've stopped it. Please, James... Forgive me. Please, just come home again... It's been long enough now.)

OK. I opened the game and skipped right to that part. Looks like I remember it wrong. Sry bro.
There are two scenes.
In one, she says to James, "I've forgiven you." (The scene in the pool.)
In the other, which Spock dropped, she says to James, "Forgive me and come home."

I think she's asking for forgiveness for the treason, not for the child.
Because it's in the context of her having fun with a student.

OK. I knew I've seen it somewhere :D
It seems the lines were correct, but I remembered the wrong scene. Thanks Vega!!

So, back to this line, this is why I don't think the reason Bella and her husband separated lies with her.
I am a supporter of the theory that Bella's husband cheated on her. I remember in Ep6, after Bella helped MC clean his room, during their night rest, her inner monologue went something like, ‘This is adultery, I've become the kind of woman I despise.’

I keep wondering who's been playing this since it launched and still doesn't know what's on the other side of that door in Bella's house, Like, so many years of mysteries and still no answers, i only started playing two months ago and curiosity is killing me, I can only imagine what it's like for those who've been playing for years.

Especially with that line in episode 3, I think, where the MC kisses Bella and says that if he knew what her tears meant, he would have asked for help.

While waiting for Maya's preview, here's another fun fact: the longest gap between BaDIK previews so far has been 128 days, from the last ep11 preview to the first one for ep12. More interestingly, it's even longer by 2 days than the time between the final ep8 and the first ep9 preview, despite there being a whole Interlude development between them. :geek:

I expect to be questioned about how wine = dish soap and what's the deal with picture frames :ROFLMAO:

There seems to be something to forgive on both sides.
My thought:
- Bella and James had a child that died. Could be a miscarriage or as an infant (SIDS).
- Bella met Jill her (Jill's) freshman year and bonded over their shared grief.
- James had some job where he was out of town a lot and Bella was mostly left to deal with the grief on her own.
- Jill was over at Bella's one time and they had some wine. They were in Bella's bed (the only bedroom) settling in to sleep and talking and getting emotional.
- Jill made the move on Bella, but Bella responded. They aren't bi but their emotions and pain were strong and they wanted some physical comfort. (No way to know how far they went, but I suspect it wasn't full sex or anything like that.)
- James caught them. <-- this explains why Bella is thinking that she needs forgiveness from James.
- The dead child grief plus now Bella apparently cheating on him were too much and he abandoned Bella. Refused to talk or try to work on things. <-- this explains where Bella says he could come back and that she forgives him.
- He's now been gone for 3ish years. (Bella said she hadn't been touched in 3 years.)
- She still wears the ring and considers herself married because they never divorced and she carries a ton of guilt for how the relationship was broken.
- The MC connected with her emotionally and she is finally starting to accept that her marriage is truly dead and she can move on and pursue her own happiness.

The Bella/MC relationship is the one main girl relationship that I feel has a legitimate ticking bomb in it.
James is very likely to be coming back at some point.
I don't think DPC would do it, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me if Bella and the MC's relationship would not survive that.

He fell in love with a stripper named Madame Rose :HideThePain: but she ate him, like Monstro eating Pinocchio...
It sure does! But at least it doesn't make me roll my eyes like the BDSM room idea :HideThePain:
Feelings are boring, give us the sex dungeon :devilish:

Give her a soft kiss on the lips and ask what she wants for breakfast :giggle:

Bella specifically thinks that a man hasn't touched her in three years (or rather, gotten her all hot and bothered), so I imagine the thing with Jill happened more recently than that, after James left. But I'm curious about there being a second event that made James leave, if not the death of their child alone.
