We are all fans of the game here but what would you say are the flaws of Being a Dik so far?

Personally I think Maya was not handled right. She got a lot of focus in the first few episodes but since the "twist" at the end of the third her character feels shallow to me.

I don’t disagree with any of this but again it’s your understanding of this. Your emotions and reactions to events.

The MC might see it differently. His understanding of the semantics of “crush” might differ from yours or mine.

my point wasn’t I was correct in my new understanding of the story, nor I agree with the MC’s take on what happened to him. My point was more weight needs to be given to how he reacts over how we would react.

The MC has forgiven them. everyone involved is cool with this “just dating” thing. I previously thought this was incongruous. Having replayed I see it fits if the MC is just being more casual about all this than I thought he was.

I take back all my obscure theories about Josy/Maya being a rewrite of a much more intimate story. I take back my issue with them rejecting DIK MC then jumping right back into secretly liking him.

A more casual relationship bridges or excuses a lot of stuff. I don’t have to forgive them for the MC to do so logically. I don’t have to forgive the cheating for the MC to do so (like you did). My point is the MC isn’t me and thinking he was tainted my understanding of this story. It flows better now. Maya/Josy isn’t a glaring inconsistency by a writer who achieves consistency on all other routes.

I agree, a lot of the problems fall into line when you realize that, for whatever reason, the three of them really do view this as a relatively casual dating scenario. They all hope it will grow into something more, but they are not sure how best to make that happen so they want to take it very slow and not get their hopes up too soon.

For the most part, I can accept that; if future episodes show the three of them working their way through things in a satisfying manner, I'll be happy. Really, I only have two quibbles with the situation. First, if this is the outcome, DPC should not have made the Maya/Josy decision the dramatic climax of Season 1. That primed the audience to expect more from resulting relationship, so it's really his own fault if people misunderstand the setup now.

Second, it's hard to reconcile everyone accepting a casual threeway relationship with how certain Maya and Josy are that they love each other if you go the friendship route. If they really feel that strongly about each other, then either their feelings for the MC must likewise be beyond casual to match their own love, or their feelings for each other are nowhere near as strong as they think they are. The former implies the trio are trying to deceive themselves to avoid emotional pain in case this falls apart (which could be fine if it is eventually addressed). The latter bodes ill for a happy ending to the Maya/Josy couple and would make me very sad.

We'll see what happens. I'd be very surprised if each new update doesn't have at least one hangout chance for those on the Maya/Josy path, so one way or the other we will learn more.

Shame? Nobody can make you feel shame. Only you feel it. For me to even consider the words of somebody else as meaningful I'd have to care about that person's opinion. Tybalt is dog shit on my shoe. His words have no value or weight.

That said: Yeah, I punched his ass. He put hands on me. You start some, you gonna get some.

*but: His doing so was not unprovoked. You did crash the party and fuck things up. You're kinda the asshole in this situation no matter what, so choosing to not punch him helps mitigate that a little.

I was mostly trolling in that post. Mostly. You may think you made a good decision by not punching Tybalt. If everyone else thinks he made fun of you and harassed you physically without you defending yourself or retaliating your public image is tarnished. No matter what you think about it.

So, here's the latest random minor detail I noticed when I played through the game again. (Since it's been a week now, I will not hide Episode 5 spoilers, and they are fairly minor.)

On Sunday morning Derek posts his cluck about surviving Hell Week, and most of the HOTs reply to congratulate him and the MC. This includes Mona (last mentioned opting out of Quinn's free tuition deal), but does not include Ashley (last seen being comforted by Elena).

To me, this suggests that Mona is still planning on being a HOT and is not too traumatized by whatever happened with Stephen. I'm not sure what it implies about Ashley. Maybe I'm overthinking things and she just slept in?

Personally, I feel like that whole interaction was about more than just something Jill did in her sleep. The fact that Bella says "I thought we had an understanding" after Jill says "It's not gonna happen again" seems to suggest they both agreed to stop doing something with each other, because Jill's "night humping" is not a conscious decision and so she can't exactly decide to stop doing it.

To have an "understanding" with another person to not do something would imply that they were both conscious participants, and the way they looked at each other felt like they were about two seconds away from locking lips had Bella not broken their gaze by turning away.

It's not new per se. There has been speculation that Burke was heavily involved in the prostitution side (but not the actual drug supplier/cook) since C.1 when his pinstripe pants were spotted in the toilet that Quinn and Roina had just exited from. This is also linked to the alledged free tuition carrot that a glory hole business could not possibly pay for.

I think the theory is even stronger now after the Mona/Burke scene in C.5 - Quinn letting Burke partake/explain what is required for the tuition possibly.

It happens after the scene with Camila. When you're on the ground floor looking at the stairs, hit the arrow that appears at the bottom of the screen and you'll turn to the front door where you see Mona storm out of a room on the left. Camila comes out from the bar to go after Mona and Burke then exits the room that Mona was in.

Ah didnt know that, though it could still be Burke since he's the headmaster and you fucked a teacher. For some reason he didnt want Mr X finding out about you Sage so I wouldnt be surprised if he wanted to protect you from the same Mr X

Is there a way to get EP5? (Steam doesn't have it)... I saw that the moderator has posted EP1 to EP4 (on the 1st page for free)?

Again sorry if this isn't allowed. Would eventually buy it when it comes on steam (to support the developer) but need to play it if its available.

I wanted to address a few common questions that I've gotten this last week.

My answers to these questions are:

• Steam gets full seasons, not individual episodes.
• Steam saves aren't compatible with the Patreon version, vice versa.
• You can't patch the Steam version, you will get errors.
• The Steam walkthrough, pressing 'g' key version, is exclusive to Steam during development.
• The walkthrough will be released sometime during June. I'm currently trying to optimize the development by getting episode 6 up and rolling, render-wise, and finding time to write the walkthrough.

The only way to currently play this episode is to download the full 8GB Ren'py version of the game via the link in the OP, but Steam save files are not compatible with it so you'll have to play the entire game again from scratch.

She did mention to the MC after their sparring training that her parents tried to get her to play classic instruments, so maybe it's just a nod to her upbringing.

And don't worry, you can never look too much into this game.
