I use XnConvert for everything! There's a tutorial here on the forum. It's excellent and the quality remains great even with the reduced file size.

i use handbrake for videos instead cause i was too lazy to keep on reading. its just drag and drop, lower resolution, and click convert

the easiest way to convert images. just open a pic, hit F3, and decide what format you want and how many pics to convert.
