MC's gf isn't a gf anymore, sex scenes are gone, the pathing is gone and the more hopeful tone regarding his mother and sister has gone depressing af.

From what I can gather, it seems the dev has listened to some complaints by a vocal group and changed thing according to what they said (can't verify, not a sub so don't know the story) if it is true though, there is a reason the bigger devs don't change things according to complaints and some newer devs don't either .... it always ends in a clusterfuck.

There's a difference between the two (besides the fact that The Missing Part has some sex scenes), this one isn't even remotely as sad and depressing as the other one, while at the same time being (imo) more pretentious and about young adults.

Here the depressing part is the mom having cancer, everyone's sad, but her daughter doesn't even care to go visiting her, she'd rather mope at home.

The whole premise is super shady (folks spying on the MC, mistery about the dad, Etc...), on the other one is an example of extreme "bad luck" (so to speak).

There is branching in this chapter, specifically at the pool scene with Olivia, Sam and Sarah. If you take Sarah home you'll miss out on a chance to start a relationship with Sam. If you take her home MC will flirt with her and her mom depending on your choices.

There are too many pretty girls in this game but Sam still feels like the best choice even after the rework, at least for me.

The same advice I give to mac users. Just use the Renpy SDK as a launcher, and you can run any renpy game cross-platform.

step 1. Download the latest game build available on the OP (in this case, it's the windows version)
step 2. Go to renpy.org and download the

step 3. move the game build you downloaded earlier into your new Renpy SDK directory.
step 4. run renpy.sh (since you're on linux)

You can now launch the game from the Renpy SDK. This can be done for 99.9% of Renpy games no matter what OS you're on. You can even take it a step further and use the SDK to build your own linux version of the game if you wanted to. But the no-fuss method is to just use the SDK as a launcher.

Alternatively, just use SoLs compressed version, which usually includes a linux build.

i dont know why im still here tbh. first he got all the smoke because he made an absurdly hot sister, (everyone wanted olivia), then reworks started, and now you're basically playing olivia game, i was so annoyed, that i had to just hold cntrl and skip all of her bullshit, i dont care about her bubu hurt feelings, this is not a game about her, bro its way too much drama and depression on this game. the renders and models, and even soundtrack are top notch, but thats about it, the story is too much drama, MC is getting NOTHING, only a BJ on the GYM...

honestly, I just follow this one for the tiddy. It's one of very few VNs where I skip 99% of the dialogue. The boring drama got old in Chapter 1, and there's still too much cold dialogue and self-importance for a porn game. Needs more flirting and romantic progress and it needs more sex. The renders are moderately decent at least, there was a little more flirting this chapter, and it did finally get somewhat of a sex scene though with the shower BJ with Chloe. So it's a start.

There was also a little hint of actual romance between MC and Sam this time, but it pretty much amounted to "hey we should break our rule and start dating", then they start making out. Worked way better when they were just dating from the start, IMO.

Such a shame, she is the only one i care about, and the dev not only ruined this game with rework, cause their relationship was perfect there, apparently the dev is out to not even give the Sam romance the love or care it deserves and just make it feel unimportant now too it seems.

Man, I have no clue why the dev had to ruin the game and now apparently ruin Sam romance which was my main thing I was most looking forward to.

I'm not sure these changes are for the worst. Pathing generally adds replayability but also makes updates feel short due to parallel content instead of longer content. Don't get me wrong, I prefer games with strong pathing, but these usually only get good a few chapters in when there's actual content for every path.
I can take or leave a pre-existing girlfriend, but I prefer that realistic (or non-harem) stories give an early way out. Usually these girlfriends only exist for the early lewds and then fall to the wayside anyway. Reading the other comments, it was originally Sam, and he would've needed a convincing reason to dump her after everything she's doing for them (like holding a secret that changes the MC's worldview or leading him into making a wrong decision).

The thing with their mother... Something isn't adding up. If we're going for real-world treatments, then children have a 25% chance to be a viable donor for stem cell treatment (strangers are 1/200). There's also little risk inherent to donating, with long-term health consequences being caused by complications, not the procedure itself. It also depends on the kind of treatment the mother requires; if the donor doesn't have to be a 10/10 match (haplo), then these chances raise considerably.

Yeah, I think you're right. A dev changing their vision due to pressure usually doesn't end up well. But I'm not sure if he changed his vision because of pressure or practical considerations. And, as a counterargument, there are plenty of big devs who have complex games who also refuse to hire help. They then get fans who are angry that updates take a long time.

We'll probably see her be a lesbian in some scenes as a way of fanservice. Not really my kind of content because it has nothing to do with the MC, but I'm sure it will have its fans. Did Olivia change compared to the pre-rework, and does this predate the whole payment processor/censorship thing?
