And then there is the bigger problem of fans like me who have been waiting for Lisa's virginity being pissed off. Had that been actually handled, in a non milking way ages ago, then honestly with the banging of Ann in this update, even if the game was put on indefinite hold, I don't think that many people would be pissed. Because let's be honest, no one cared about Vicky, or the new Olivia and her mom story, or even the doctor that much. But the Lisa thing really stings.

Had he said, look we are transitionsing to Glamor, but we will at least finish up the big threads in BB, to give it a decent stopping point, and I think people would be a lot more willing to give Glamour a try.

That's fair enough. But you do have to admit they are late additions, and most times, late additions aren't often taken up by the existing fan base (Olivia is a bit different, I am also pissed that the fucking story with her that started in 0.5 will never finish either)

It's just not something I see mentioned often. I think it is safe to say, most fans saw those ladies as a distraction at best. Or, more likely, the stalling tactics they clearly were.



Hey, things change no doubt, but the markets ARE different, and there are some serious differences in Japanese and Western tastes in a lot of this stuff.

And yeah, there are 50 hour VN's with no or very little sexual content. My response to that is the following:
1) They have an actual story. Basically, if you're game is going to take 50 hours, it had best be at LEAST as good as Fate/Stay Night. Nothing from the west so far has come close.
2) Japanese games are overwritten to high hell. I love VNs, but a lot of them, FSN included would be better with about half the text. Many VN writers in Japan make Tolstoy look downright laconic.

If you're using Winrar you have to accept the changes to application once you close the game, should pop up on winrar after.

Having a female MC will turn people away for sure, now, should it turn people away? Well, yes, nothing wrong if playing a female MC is your thing, but I know it certainly isn't mine, and you can't tell people what to like or what to play, specially on a porn game where certain things will turn some people off. I won't even try the game.

knowing DS and his male characters, we will have a bunch of assholes and blackmailers, that's what I hate the most about female protagonist games, it's always the same, all man are assholes that seek to take advantage of the MC

Well, doing a mod is some work and even if a modder (e.g. me) has time to do that, there are still some issues.
- How to add locations?
- How to add other rooms?
- How to solve open threads? If the side effect of the pill should get removed, there are still the old scenes ingame, so they have to be altered too. It's not easy ... i studies the assembly-sharp for some hours, but i don't have see a way to do that, (yet).

Even if some content can be added, it will still stay v0.13

Sure they will... I bet some will just move to whatever game is due to be released next week.

DMD was thinking in similar way. I do believe that semi official patches will be banned as well. And Patreon will start to ban games after couple of reports.

No you can't be involved in the patches yourself...But you CAN make the game patchable so some other person (perhaps someone you know) can patch it back to the original incest theme.

In fact why not talk to one of the modders here who have added and changed huge sections of story to your game for some help on this front?

I'm sure they could easily make a mod that turns this game into a non-incest story (perhaps a boarding house) so you could continue to at least finish off the the few scenes needed to make a proper ending, that could just as easily be modded back to the game you currently have. As long as you yourself don't release the Mod there is little Patreon can do about that.

Just use Ren'Py. Doesn't look like it's that hard to learn and it's free.

Yeah, they're different. But diversity will grow in our market without doubt. Even now we have fair amount of games with female protags and different fetishes are growing. Maybe in a 10-20 years we'll be able to really compare differences between our markets.

As for being shorter I can't agree and it's the first time I see such a comment. F/SN is a real VN. It's not porn or even erotic game. It's more or less a book and it doesn't feel like it's something overly long. You have to play it 3 times and it still doesn't feel so. If any game on our market will ever reach such a level erotic content won't be needed.

As for those who think DS can mod BB easily. He can't as Patreon specifically said he can't post anything related to BB on their site regardless of changes now. It's done. You need cash to live and develop things

I think all the doom and gloom over Glamour's having a female MC is unfounded. Considering how many male gamers use female avatars in RPG's (MMO or not), I don't think Glamour will have a problem finding an audience while having a female MC. Sure, DS may have to court a new set of people, but it can be done and that audience does exist. Who knows, he may even pave the way for the other pitifully under-supported female MC games here like GGGB and Milf's Tale to find audiences of their own. Porn Hub's aggregate stats show that "lesbian" is the most searched and viewed porn category in the English-speaking world (especially by women), and "porn for women" (which heavily centers around female characters) is probably the fastest growing sector in erotica, so there is every possibility that Glamour surpasses even BB in terms of audience and drawing power.

I think you are understating things. Men like playing female main characters less in general than they do male characters. That's not really in dispute. That doesn't mean they WON'T play as female characters, because there are games with Female MCs that have done well, but for a primarily male audience, which I assume BB is going to have, it's going to be one hell of a roll of the dice.

And it's really hard to make generalizations about what people like in Porn, incest is in an upswing now, (apparently women are big fans of Stepdad/Daughter porn) and while lesbians are evergreen in popularity, that is also something that women tend to enjoy more than men, according to the numbers. And considering how the writing has been in BB, it's about as far from "porn for women" as you can get, and I have no reason to believe that Glamour will be better in that regard.

GGGB, BTW fits the porn for women category much better than anything else on the site.

I love the hell out of FSN. I really do, I have played it to completion twice, have seen all the anime adaptations save Heaven's Feel, and am a GIANT fan of Type-Moon in general. That being said, the novel, like many Japanese VN's is over written. It never says in one line something it could instead say in ten.

Maybe it's the translation, but FSN has around 924,000 ~ 1,000,000 words in it. That's about as many as the first three books of George R. R. Martin's a song of Ice and Fire. It's minimum 350,000 more words than "War and Peace", it's 500,000 more words than "The Lord of the Rings". It's fucking long. Too fucking long. It needs an editor, badly. I can still love it and understand that fact.

It's not alone. Stein's Gate, another really good VN has 620,000 words. It also feels over written. One I hear recommended a lot is Grisala, but apparently that's AT LEAST as long as FSN, and that's about 50 hours of pure reading.

Western VNs tend to have the opposite problem, in that many are too short, but especially with the life sim ones, they give no fucks about the players time.

Don't look at them as they are games. Look at them as they're books. If you feel book is over written it means more or less that it doesn't fit your taste entirely. You mentioned 2 top tier VNs which are really medium sized in comparison to some other games. I seriously can't see how they're overwritten. They're both for something like 50h while games like Muv-Luv Alternative (another masterpiece) takes over 100h and even then I wouldn't say it's over written. I guess VN style doesn't fit you much. Stein's Gate and most top-tier VNs is basically written like a manga so it has huge number of scenes to create full immersion. You can take it out and put it into anime without any filler as inner thoughts aren't usually expressed in anime. All in all I wouldn't dare to compare our best erotic VNs we have on Patreon with real VNs. They're not even close. High quality VN that's made by westerners (mostly) is Katawa Shoujo and it has the same style. Real, story-focused VNs are just usually long and no one cares about player's time if he don't like it. Same goes for books.

Regarding your previous post I strongly disagree. Female protags aren't aimed for women at all. Women are huge minority and they look for a different things. Basically only dominant type of erotic mangas they buy are yaoi (gay). Vast majority of games with female character is aimed for guys. Immersion isn't necessary to play as people just observe in that case. GGGB is a clear example of well written game aimed for guys. I would be surprised if its playerbase has more than 10% of women
