The fact that Dark Silver had Eric in this game is the reason it is so popular.

I think he should have actually been given a lot more content and a longer life. It is too boring for Eric to be beaten in the middle of the story. After the danger is gone we feel as if the story should progress much faster but since he was gotten rid of so early and we haven't actually developed the relationships well enough that the pay off in getting to enjoy them either feels so far away or just not enough.
If Eric was someone that you gradually beat as Dark Silver originally had us play in the game I think beating him would have been so much better near the end of the story. You could do so much with Eric in that you slowly strip away the power that he has over all of the women around you. Eric would be the active person you are fighting rather than the wait button in this game. Instead of waiting so long for shit to happen you could have a constant struggle with Eric over control of your family. Then Dark Silver can make all of the time wasted on grinding or waiting alot less because as a player you are actively trying to do several things at once.
You could start with the help of Kira to make Lisa more loyal to you. Either she can forget eric entirely and become your GF or You could have her hook up with Alex while you bang Olivia.
Then you could focus on making Alice yours or have her hook up with Kate.
Finally you can completely push Eric out of your home by getting Ann into the Porn business with the help of Kira. This you can use to slowly push Eric out of her life and substituting you into it.
Having Eric in the game gives you so many more options and much more pay off. Without him in the game it really isnt as good.
