The point I'm making and you guys seem intent on ignoring is there isn't a single fuck scene in this game that doesn't involve some BDSM trope or mechanism!

Wanna fuck Alice, it happens as part of Blackmail and spanking. The BLOG fuck is the only one where BDSM isn't a factor.
Olivia is the only woman in this game that you can fuck without spanking or tying her up. And he abandoned that and left it a dead end. It wouldn't surprise me to have her Mother tie her up to watch her fuck Max in the next few updates.

I have a question as a developer. How is this game so popular? I mean I enjoy it very much, even though there's too much grinding for my taste. Still I think there are many games much better than this one (not talking about mine, that's not for me to say) but they earn 1/10 on patreon, both on pledges and on followers.

I mean, there's no indication of any end to the game, the dev could apply update after update endlessly, it doesn't seem (to me) that it will ever be completed. Even here on the forum I read much criticism and a 3 star rating.

So, in order to understand people's tastes about this kind of games, the question is still the same: how come is this so popular?

Most of what makes it popular (IMO) is the combination of the rendering which uses more HUMAN and realistic models as opposed to the over sexualized (Cartoonish, Big Ass, Big Boobs) you see in most other games. And the fact that he uses Unity Engine which is much better than the others. He has rarely had a game killing bug show up on release day. So it just works. That is a big factor in keeping customers. Hit them with too many game killing bugs and they will get tired of having to start over. Eventually the game is thought of as unstable (see a game like My New Life for example) that even if it had great story and gameplay people abandon it simply because they are tired of the crashing.

This game showed promise early but it has since lost its way. The story is vague, it is more of a BDSM genre story than an incest genre, and even after a year of development and releases you still have yet to fuck the main characters that have been introduced from the beginning.

He has created new characters only to drop them or dead end their progress in the very next release and his story is so vague all along that before where people could imagine their own ideas of what the game was about, and his inconsistencies with previous plot that followed has ruined that for most.

I wouldn't be surprised if many of the patreons he still has, forgot they are paying him once a month.

Might be. Can't find this post so maybe I just imagined he said so. Most logical option in my opinion would be normal updates untill huge, polished version of Glamour is finished. Then Glamour and some minor updates for BB every 2-3 month. For me this game is already finished since 0.5 so I have high hopes in Glamour. Not even one developer achieved to create sandboxish adult game due to lack of knowledge and resources and DS have both now. We will see

No no no, you can't talk about EA and Blizzard here. You cannot compare products from large companies and indie developers who often develop the game alone while having a work and a family, nor the multimillionare budget of large companies.

You have to compare indie games with indie games, so the budget of BB must be compared to the budget of another indie project, even regardless of kind of game and content, but with same-size developing teams and/or publishers.

If you compare our products with AAA ones we're simply out of the game.

BUT i can understand that if you took that path and liked Olivia that you feel screwed...

DS may work on the real Olivia path down the road and all we can do is hope.
If he does he will have to combine it with the Mentor quest for Lisa so we can go on in the other Lisa only quest lines.

Sure, Glassix is pretty good. It's a design's flow that characters are bounded by mechanic but all in all it's really really good game with original theme and gameplay. But for me it's more like an attempt rather than real sandbox. But it's still praiseworthy. As for Glamour some hype and hopes are fine. If it'll deliver it's great for us. Did you do all GF paths, 2 for Lias and 1 for Olivia?
Both Lisa's paths lead to the same outcome at the end but getting there is a little different but the Olivia true path is much more different that the Lisa GF paths are.

I was talking there about Icstor, a different dev than Dark Silver, to establish that incest is its own genre of porn and not just a subset of the 'romance' genre. You are right that DS has said incest doesn't do much for him.

Ohh sorry, I have seen folks discuss this about Darksilver before, so I guess I made an assumption. I liked some of Icstor games, but as has been mentioned they lose your interest as they progress. I think it is part writing and part RPGM. How many times to you want to run through 6 screens to buy a hammer. That is not the game that is a developer choice and one I have never understood. Just give me less damn screens if you really feel the need to do fetch quests. For god sake the first quest in almost everyone of the damn things is "go to the store"

DS may work on the real Olivia path down the road and all we can do is hope.

I hoestly can't see any way to make this even possible now. Adding the new Olivia put a defining stop to any merge down the road of old Olivia and the new content. He can't run the game with 2 existing Olivias conected to the same timeline content around them. This is why he needed old Olivia gone. The crossover can't be done and he knew it.

Most of all i wanted DS to answer thoes points. I would not have been angry at him at all if he decided to scrap the old path to make room for a new if this was his intention. Removing 1 line of text from the game stops new players from walking into a dead end and this choice happens in week 2. Keeping it open to claim he might use it later after he already changed the story is equally weird. His silence about all this speaks volumes in my book.

I know you where a pateron and you may understand how he works and thinks much better then me.

You are limiting yourself to thinking only one way, sure he can bring in Lisa to the true Olivia path just like he brought in Olivia to the true Lisa path.
Its not the same time line but 2 different game's and 2 different time lines.

(Both Lisa's path I considered the same.)
