I guess it's the end of all incest-themed games then, at least for the coming years.
I suspect it's the end of crowd-funded incest games. People still make them on their own, or you'll see complete games on Patreon perhaps where there are separate patches or DLCs to add incest to them. BB wouldn't fly, but a game called Max or something where you tried to hook up with Olivia, Eve, Vicky, Diana, etc would. If a patch came out from some dubious source that added scenes with his family, Patreon might be more likely to turn a blind eye to that. People don't (mostly) complain about Skyrim because there are adult mods for it.

I think it's too late to do something like that for BB. But maybe something similar could be done for Glamour or other new games? When I was younger, you could sometimes buy games at the store that were PG, then send away for a disk to add adult content to it.

Sadly, I don't know if this idea would fly for Patreon. I think they'd look more kindly on it than just rewriting the incest out of a game so that it can later be patched back in. But at this time, all bets as far as how far they'll go to enforce no-incest is unknown.

Too bad. Seriously. I obviously had my problems with the game and all, but I know that @DarkSilver cared for the game a lot. What ever issue anyone had with the game, never wish something like this upon a person. All issues were strictly from a writer's perspective.

Concerning Glamour now, I'm looking forward to it, cautiously of course, but Big Brother was a learning experience. A highly successful one. I hope you don't significantly lose support due to this project being a female MC. That's just stupid in my opinion. Plus, playing the role of a female throws the constant NTR argument out the window, at least for me, because you control the female, and you can't self-insert because it's a female.

A game having a female MC shouldn't turn people away from the experience, especially if it's written well. We have literally 50+ games here where you play as the male character, and half of them, if not more, are stupidly written, Big Brother included, no offense.

My advice to you Dark Silver, is to think everything through and build a story that you feel comfortable with. It's fine to give your patrons some options, but don't allow them to take over the game. The graphics and game mechanics will be fun, but try hard to find a conflict that works and make that conflict stick.

Also, work on your sex scenes. The angles need work, and since you're working with a female MC now, it should be easier for you. At the very least we don't have to see 100 pictures of Max's dick anymore.

Of course we will develop our site and connect it to adult payment processor. But it will take some time.

When it will be ready - we would be happy to do whatever we want without bowing to Patreon
Yeah but once you start the development of Glamour we all know that BB will be forgotten... I seriously have pretty much a year invested in "this game, and you" and don't really care about "Glamour" as I am knee deep in BB. (except, I think I dropped you when "douchebag" took Kira then came back to the fold when I was able to kill that prick! (v0.4 or v0.5 I think?))

Yes Glamour may turn out to be a spectacular game but atm BB is probably "THE" measuring stick by which ALL other adult games are being judged! And doing a, "it was all just a dream" ending or getting an "Abandoned" tag won't do your brand any good!!!

You may look down on this Pirate forum with disdain but you have no clue just how many of us actually do send you money every month despite being able to get it for free here. For a lot of us, we support your game at the level we can afford to, but want it as soon as it is released at the first opportunity, and don't pull our patronage when we have it...

All said and done though, I'll say it yet again... You guys code for a living and yet you can't figure out how to do a html website that incorporates a monthly paypal gateway??? Why not? Marketing is the key to everything, you built the product, you built the brand, people will go to the ends of the earth to find it, yet you cannot figure out a delivery system and rely on a broken website (Patreon).

Honestly, cash their cheques and tell them to pick it up on F95!

That’s the exact problem. PayPal is the one forcing Patreon to crack down on games like this.
The payment processor is the biggest issue in setting up a standalone website. They don’t want to provide their services to people creating incest/rape/beastiality games.

It's a shame if BB is coming to an end but DarkSilver was never really into it.

Let's all remember we want talented artists and developers to find it worth their while to do this kind of work. Maybe for now DarkSilver switches to something else but who knows what the future will bring.

I've supported BB in the past but stopped because I found the plot overall depressing. It's times like this when things are changing that artists need your support and need you to give them a month or two to find their way. Maybe in a couple of months some will disappear completely but maybe it's worth a few dollars of support to see who makes it through.

Problem with that is that Paypal does not allow these things either so you will get the same problem.

Only real way is another payment method on a website.(best choice at this point)
Or create something like Patreon(Should be easy if the bigger devs put all their teams together for a couple weeks, only reason why they don't do that is because it takes money to do that).

Isn't that the case already? I found BB on F95 (or something similar) I only go to Patreon to kick something back to the Dev. Patreon's interface and comment code is ass.

A female protagonist in a movie or regular video game isn't going to turn me away. But for an adult game, I need to be able to imagine myself in the main character's role. I'm not a voyeur. My enjoyment of adult entertainment comes not from observing, but rather from being able to pretend I'm the one getting all of the sex. The same render of a man and a woman having sex makes a world of difference to me depending on which one is the character I am playing as. I have played adult games with female MCs in the past because there were more limited offerings then, and it just wasn't anywhere near as enjoyable as a male MC. But that's me. Other people may not project themselves into the main character as much as I do.

And that's completely understandable. I'm sure others are the same way. But I like to think about the story more than the sex in these scenarios. And when it is about the sex, whether it be lesbian porn or not, I can always project my image in the male having sex with the MC rather than the MC, you see what I mean? I do get it though.

I'm the same as that. The problem with being a female MC is that I imagine myself as the MC and no fucken way do I want a man fucking me.

Well im out for sure female MC is a huge turn off...as im sure it will be for many others

Might sound complicated but why not just keep a dummy page on patreon for financing BB and keep the distribution via email to the patreons couldnt be hard with autoresponce
