BIOASSHARD UPDATE 6/30/2025
Hello everyone!
Time for a new report.
A short one this time. I wanted to let you know what we’re currently working on before this month is gone.
Julia’s animations are almost done with the exception of a few ones that requires more tweaking, but
that will probably come in the future since they aren’t used just yet.
So, right now the focus is on making the ‘
more-than-needed’ upgrade to the average Infected. Yeah, do you remember the 3 different kinds of Infected (sometimes accompanied by a fourth one -the Big Guy-) all of them very similar with identical faces? Well, it’s time to
give them a rest, because
we’re upgrading them from 3/4 different with not much differences to a new, -more procedural- appearance system that will offer more than 10 different body types, more than 30 different skin shaders, more than 60 different face archetypes (you can take a small glimpse of 3 of them in the screenshot, but keep in mind it’s not in-engine so no shading ) and some other surprises!
So, you won’t get tired of always the same 3 boring enemies
doing… well, you know what
they do to Julia Also, I feel like they’re now more terrific than before, something I felt was missing during the Arena, especially comparing the look they had in the 0.0.1 to 0.0.3 versions and the change we made to the 0.1.0 onward. It’s like they were missing the part where they have to “scare” you since they’re the enemies. They impose a lot more now and I hope we can manage to reflect that in game with the camera and behavior as well.
And that’s going to do it for this report. And now, it’s time to go to sleep after a day of work with the office turned into total hell with the beautiful summer temps and without air conditioner (it’s broken and we’re waiting to get it fixed) trying to survive !
