Well yes, you probably downloaded the build from the OP which doesn't have the lady in the brothel on the second floor on saturday. She sells the skillbooks for 20 silver (2000 cash) each. You can find the latest build on page 6 as a MEGA link.
Yeah, give her items that have the gift tag on it. Just equip it by clicking on it in the inventory menu and then talk to her. Only possible once for each day. Imo the easiest way to gift her something is learning to use the pickaxe for mining and hope for a special drop from the stones, copper, iron or finding gifts in chests.

You didn't read at all what i just wrote, right? Give her items that have a gift tag on it. The extra drop you can sometimes get from farming ores in the goblin mine can be gifted to her.^^
You need the agriculture skillbook to do that. I'm not sure if you can get it as a quest reward or inside chests but you can buy it at saturday on the second floor of the brothel from the lady for 20 silver.
You do quests for her by asking for work and if she likes you enough you can bang her.

I actually bought the tailoring table from the merchant, but there is no recipe / possibility to craft a red dress.
You sell stuff or find money bags in chests? If you sell you stuff in the house (not the bed) you get a good start.

The merchant is in the north of the village being the only NPC who is outside if it rains. The blacksmith is to the northeast of the town on the second floor while the first floor leads to the mines.
