Can somebody explain why people react so strongly to "blackmail" - which plays actually a subordinate and trivial role in this VN like in hundreds of others, just her not wanting her transgression to get out. She herself could have confessed and could of course have stopped it by not going to Jerome's office. So it isn't even a harder form of blackmail in the sense of pressuring her into sex at the beginning by using an existential threat or plight she was in.

I am a fan of blackmail in VNs and coercion in general in pixilated fantasy. Never would I engage in such behavior in real life - but that's where the fun is in these stories. Well, these are highly personal matters, so I won't assume anything about other individuals, but speaking generally I would strongly tend to see a connection between ethical judgment and sexual preference - it could go either way. Our turn-ons and turn-offs are not totally random. The forbidden is exciting for some, the malicious and non-consensual is a turn-off for others. There is a nexus. The strong judgments you can read all the time in this forum are not only a matter of taste, they have this normative dimension. The disgust people articulate is no only a matter of preference. And matters of consent are highly ethical matters and that's what rape drugs and blackmail are about, all concepts people used here in the thread. And you stated "blackmail is the worst" so for me that had the taste of a normative judgment, but as I said, I could have misunderstood.

I mean, for me, is the worst because it seems like a "lazy" (?) way to corrupt a girl. I prefer other forms of corruption. Especially in NTR games (or games with NTR components). I'm not a fan of Blackmail for that reason. I like it when the girl cheats because she's tempted and eventually wants to. In a game where the MC does the Blackmail thing, I don't dislike it as much.

It's an issue of coercion and/or dominance. True Netorare is the "taking of another" it is not cuck which is a subgenre. So, blackmail or other coercive methods like deception or manipulation make the LI act in a way she otherwise wouldn't. Some find that quite engaging. Yes, it is subjective. A slow corruption - isn't that a form of manipulation i.e. coercion? Yes, blackmail does short circuit the process - I get that - but it can sometimes be more of a shocking thrill (to some.) Personally, a fan of both slow corruption and the more direct method in VNs.
