Yeah, that checks out. I recall earlier versions being insufferably difficult. However while it's true if you have the best team that's IF you ONLY use the best team, in my honest opinion I feel like forcing a meta may not be the best idea.
Granted this is still a WIP, but I certainly hope the characters become more diverse in terms of combat chemistry. Or adjust the character skills so you can have 2 of each job among the maidens, two tank types, two healer types, two damage and/or support types, etc. One of everything is not a bad idea, but could be frustrating in more difficult fights when you NEED specialized maiden for an encounter and they are unavailable for whatever reason.
While I don't mind some RNG (Especially if it's in the NTR route where situations end up being a gamble that are not in your favor) the inconsistency kinda kills the whole purpose of making the maidens stronger, feels like a wasted effort improving them if the same enemies are going to remain just as difficult even with an expanding arsenal and higher stats.
Ultimately, it's up to the developers, this is just me spitballing & nerding out over the whole min-maxing gamer shtick (
I may be playing too much Elden Ring lately
) but I believe the developer understands what is going on and they are taking the steps necessary to adjust it. And to be fair they said themselves they weren't happy with some things prior to the public release, which leads me to believe they are prioritizing the technicals over aesthetics... which is entirely understandable from a programing perspective.
