Oh don't worry Bones is alive and well, he still posted tons of snarky comments about how "ungrateful" his supporters are and how dare we- the pirates on f95 criticised him for being a leechs, a scammer and an asshole then banned everyone on his discord that only asked him about the development progress
Even though that I never wish Bones die despite him being toxic I must say if he did die some of us would feel a bit sad (love his games and his unique art style so they will be dead too) but none of us would feel enough to shred a tear for him or nice enough to give some kind words about it

I have been lurking a whole year in this thread and wanted to share my hot take on this.
I'm lazy as all hell to look for a post 2 pages before, but someone said that, the good ol' doc may suffer from bipolar disorder. As someone who has medical knowledge, I can safely say, that is unlikely.
However, several things happened in the heroes journey of Bones to evolve in the way he has. This is all, of course, IMO.

1.- Technician burnout. Bones is but a single man, it has been said before several times, this gives him complete control over his creation and vision. Creatively it is paradise... On the other hand, Creatively it is hell. As there is no ACTUAL deadline, no one to manage his time, no company to hold him accountable, Bones just does what he can apply, art. Wheter it is new or a rework is a whole other subject. I believe I saw a post of him quite long ago saying "coding is hard" and such and such... So programming is definitely not his strong suit nor his passion.

2.- Lack of consecuence. Closely tied to the first one.
If you had a product you are selling to a client, and set a strict deadline for it... and miss it several times, it should be obvious that said client is going to find someone else to get that product.
But as we can see, that has not happened here, actually in the few screenshots of the discord I saw the same mentality there, as the one you can see in "Star Citizen" forums. This will be continued in the next point.

3. A Pyrric victory, or, I'm in the denial stage of grief over how much money I've spent and no product is made.
Like in "Star Citizen" this is the mindset that drives most backes to continue support. When you have given so much, that giving up on an idea is the same as saying that you fucked up and threw your money away. (If someone has backed SC, please don't attack me, this is just my subjective analisis).

4.-Do the bare minimum. Not only does our body burn the most minimum amount of energy it can, so do we, mentally. If you have a job, You will most surely do the bare minimun to not get fired. There are exception of course, but this applies to the great majority. ESPECIALLY without supervision, PROPER supervision, not randoms like us, who have little impact on his finances.
If you, reading this, or me, were to be paid close to 5,000 dollars a month, for doing the minimun, of course you will get used to that life.
And if that lifestyle becomes you. And when someone either, theatens or criticizes that lifestyle, the response of said individual, will surely be a negative one.

I've seen this a lot of times, A LOT, nd with a lot of projects I kept my eye on like, Monster girl Island, Breeding season, etc.
It all starts with a lack of REAL management and accountability.
My key point. If you like a project but the person/s working on it has neither: A really really strong work ethic, or some way to be held accountable, (real accountability) hold on to your money.
It will, slowly degenerate, and like a member of a cult, you will ask yourself. "How the fuck did we get here?"

PS. My english is garbage, sorry for any mistake in advance

i made the BiPolar claim. If you look up the definition it at least has some matching points. But if you are an expert on this matter i'd like to see your take on his mental condition. I am really curious about that. Because to be real: there is nothing more left in terms of entertainment . Stay safe..... i guess i will unfollow this thead soon. to be honest having this thread plopping on again and again gives me a burn-out as well

this is probably the smartest thing that was said in this thread.... maybe even in the whole F95. Kind of remindes me of the coments from pornhub where dudes are explaining algebra and physics because someone said they need help with their homework.lol

Bones is still a scammer and cant still keep up his promises of dates or new content

Oh well was fun reading some again , cya in fall / winter , maybe we actually get some new content and no re-re-re-re-re-works as usual.
