Reality is that when you're patreon supporter you have no guarantees. There's no guarantee thet you'll like the product, in this case game, update, what ever, and there's no refund policy. So basicaly when you give your money to any dev of these kind of games you don't get ability to get a refund in the case you dislike it. Also harsh reality is that even tho you pay the dev, dev itself doesn't owe you a thing. Basicaly you gave dev a donation on expectation that you'll get something. And when you don't get anything you can rant and whine all you want, you won't get your money back and it is devs good will if they want to release anything.

I had a Kidney stone about 10 years ago. It hurts like a kick in the balls, even more worse but man, you dont die because of that, even when it feels you do. They're not nice, and they're not children. They're deliberately choosing to throw money at someone who has demonstrably provided little to nothing in return for years. At this point, no one is getting scammed. The people remaining are either so mentally ill that they genuinely don't mind throwing money in a pit due to some imagined parasocial relationship or whatever else may be motivating them, or they honestly don't care if it takes literal years for a tiny update. I don't pity a single one of these people.

oh no, you can also scam desperate elderly people or even moms that don't know how to use the internet so they get all their life savings stolen by some indian tech guy & a million other situations. (i just used a kid as a universal example we all can understand) in no circumstance do they DESERVE getting scammed, but it is a consequence of not being knowledgeable. And yeah, these people are nice considering they don't pirate shit and choose to pay bones. Idk abt you but that's genuinely a good trait but they don't know bones is scamming them considering hes a "charismatic & funny skeleton" who always tells them the truth... (sarcasm if u dont understand) And once again ill point towards 1 image i have where his fans are just brainwashed & clueless and think that bones is a good developer.
